Isle of you too!
Dang Shelley, those skinny arms sure pack some punch! :)
Nice expression and contrast!
gotta love the open air!
Way to catch the movement! Plus the expression and concentration on his face! Oh, and the fact that his crashpad is not in the best spot makes it even more exciting... These kind of shots are the reason we take pictures. Nice one!
Okay, when's the next trip?!
Twin aliens on your harness... now that's what I call a wise climber! I admire your wisdom and understanding! Oh, and what a great picture. definately two thumbs up, plus a bonus for each yellow alien. TEN!
Hey, where is this place? Looks like Jacks Canyon, AZ...
Hillary, nice tan. :)
Now that's the reason we take pictures. Replace him with a beautiful woman and we've got ourselves a perfect 10!
Awesome pic... makes me want to walk right out of work and never go back.
Incredible shot!! Is it just me, or is there a SICK runout before the last 3 draws? Props. Wow.
Amazing... but how long was the runnout a few draws back? Oh, and way to catch the clipping action.
The awesome shots just keep on comin'... amazing.
JEEZ! Another incredible shot. Tell Kathy Dicker to keep up the great work! (Oh, and I keep up the great climbing, not that it's really that big a deal...)
Frickin' awesome climbing man!!!
Hey, don't you know smoking is hazardous to your health!?
Weird, I think I saw one of those in a crack I had my hand in once... took a nice whipper when it tried to bite me!
Nice expression Marco! Looks like you're trying to pull down the wall!! Great pic!
Don't you just LOVE those tiny pockets! Also, you're facial expressions are awesome, I can tell you climb for a reason!
Who has the strongest fingernails?!!! SWEET SHOT! V7ish is moderate?! AAHH!!
When the heck is the next RC.com get-together going to be in the GRAMPIANS?!!! When I die, I hope that place is my heaven.
I could be mistaken, but is he going BAREFOOT?! If he is, then two thumbs way up!
Okay, what I want to know is the size of the cam... looks like somewhere between a 2 and a 3?
Amazing shot! (I hope you're belayer kept one hand on the rope!)
REALLY Big Bros might work for protection... by the way, that crack just keeps on going! (not enough lens in the camera to get it all!)
10, TEN, Dez, Dies, Two thumbs way up, 10!
So what happened to the "knee, elbow, and head protection?" ...and has he put any protection in the wall at this point, or is the climbing as crazy as his pants?!
Absolutely beautiful. One of the most amazing places on the Earth, in my opinion.
Definately a classic shot. These kind of pics inspire me more than a pic of some young lunatic free soloing some crazy grade V big wall...
My hats off to your grandfather, and all the climbers of that era.
Pete, I don't drink (I know, it's weird), but if I did, I'd be a full supporter of Piton's!! How did you wind up with the life you're living? Aside from the beer, it all sounds very... adventurous... Is it possible for a married man?
I've seen a dragon-fly, I've seen a horse-fly, I've even seen an elephant fly...
This plant happens to be 30 feet tall, and ways around 3 or 4 tons. It might as well be a tree... are you against tree climbers, too?!
BTW, my fiance is a plant biologist, and she took the picture without yelling at me.. (and she does that a lot!:) (all in good fun...)
Wow! What about the dihedral/crack system to the right side of the pic? Looks fantastic!
Strange... but cool!
When is that big rock going to hit the ground?
Right on! I'm on my way to Bishop the end of next month!
Nice shot... was this at the PBC?
Wow, if the picture were a little larger, it'd be a perfect 10. Nice shot!
Wow, I love this place. Hopefully I'll get to go there some day... when I figure out how to climb 5.12!!!
"This just in - Two climbers took an emergency overnight bivy this weekend after being caught in a hail storm 50 meters up Warragul Rocks. Their original purpose for being there was to begin a massive clean up project... There only shelter from the elements was an '82 Chevelle, lodged in an offwidth a few feet above their heads. Efforts to clean up the area have been abandoned."
Top rope or not, I give it a big fat 10!
By far one of my RC.com favorites.
I give it a 10 for creativity!
...and who says it's for kids?! I wish my gym had that kind of intuition!
Hey, if it weren't for the slightly un-horizontal horizon, I'd give you a 10. Props for a great shot!
Amazing shot. Nice boulders, interesting group of people, amazing landscape, and great color. Packed or not, it's shots like these that make me want to go to places like this! I, for one, enjoy meeting new people. There's nothing wrong with a few people hanging around a popular crag. If you want to be a hermit, then go climb the ridge in the back ground... alone!!!! (That sounds nice to me also...)
It looks a little out of focus... but it's a great pic!
Amazing. Keep up the great work!
Lets hear it for the Lemmon!!! It's times like these (the fire) where I realize how much climbing I still need to do up there... even after 200+ trips!!!! Pray for rain, pray for rain, pray for rain...
Awesome pic! When was it taken?
good point meleksek... I'll go back and give it another shot...
The tree, in my opinion, adds a nice touch. It's all part of the balance!!!!!!!!! And there's nothing wrong with a good night shot.
Nice boulder pile... I give it a perfect 10!
Amazing. Wish I could be there now, out of the Phoenix heat.
Definately not Arizona.
Nice perspective, great color!
Wow, I just decided to take a trip to Smith Rock.
This is a great picture. The texture of the rock and subtle colors somehow workout quite nicely. It's like he's climbing the bark of a giant tree. I gave it a 9, but would have probably given it a 10 if his face were in the picture. Great shot!
Nice shot... a little out of focus, and a little bit of rope from another route, but TONS of potential at this spot for great pics... any deep water soloing in the area?
If he is going to climb straight up the arete, then that next draw probably should be reversed... but as for being "way too close" bolted aretes spell disaster on a runout. The route setter probably had that in mind, and I admire his respect for the safety of others... runouts on a clean overhang? Fine. Run outs on a sharp arete? death, or lots of pain, cause you'll split wide open... and you wouldn't be the first.... Anyway, nice shot.
Nice job... it gets better the more I look at it!
I'm afraid a parka wouldn't cut it... but that is an amazing picture.
Junnos, how old are you? To young to listen to The Eagles, I suppose? "Johnny Come Lately" is "The New Kid in Town!" Everybody loves him... :)
I swear all the mountains and rocks in Australia are bright orange or totally blue. Cool.
My brother has 3 of these guys, (one male), you should hear the hilarious noises they make! and the whole time the male pounds on the female's shell with his front legs... That male will actually move pretty quickly when he needs to!
Love the hat and bare feet... only he forgot his piece of straw, should be hangin' out his mouth!
Awesome perspective with the looming face above... the same pic on red point (no draws) would get a 10 in my book.
Weird... I feel like I'm looking at a mag in the dentists office trying to find things wrong with this picture... gloves? no pro? tree up the but? only boulderers where beanies? is the earth tilted? Whatever, it looks fun. I give it an 8 for holding my interest!
Ha! Mr. Bean it is!!!
This picture has class... the concentration, the view, the focus... THE FRO!
I love the houses!
Jeez that's beautiful!!! 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10!!
Look at all the snow on that rock! Must be slippery...
This is why I live in AZ! (Aside from all the rocks...)
The pumpkin gets a 10.
10. Very Nice!
Very artistic. The shadow of the tree is striking. 10.
HA! Looks like the guy on "Love Potion #9."
I give it a 9 :)
Very sharp details and color. Great picture!
A little dark, but a good pic.
Park Avenue suits it well... Awesome pic.
*mpf*... I know that lizard is in there somewhere...
Now that is a big Joshua Tree! And that crow... gotta be dangerous!
Aaron, buddy, I thought you gave that stuff up!!
Wow, if only I were 12 inches tall...
Now that's character.
Beautiful shot, Steph! One of many sunsets I intend to spend with you!
I must admit, it looks a little TOO colorful...
No cropping needed. Fun! Like the natives worshiping the golden calf!
get a shot on lead and you've got yourself one heck of a picture!
Nice job... keeps my interest... I like it.
Just right... it's like he's climbing a beam of light! Good job catching the whole atmosphere of a team... this pic is all about climbing, yet would be nothing without the belayer.
Sweet. Keep 'em coming!
Hey, it's Weird Al Y!
Awesome angle, amazing view! 10!
Fantastic. Can't wait for the larger one! Get on it man!
It's like a couple of climbers on asteroid pilars in space. Very cool.
Wow. I wish I were a bird. If only for a few days. The places I would go...
I like the perspective given on the flat land beyond. So serene, yet so not where you want to be! Nice job!
Is that Lucy Liu?
Adjust the contrast on your computer bro, this picture is dark.
I think I'm gonna puke... whoa.
Beam me up, Scottie.
Crisp. Amazing. 10.
It's like he's praying to the vertical gods...
Awesome perspective. Give us more!
I don't like to rate pictures based solely on photographic ability (like some people)... that looses the whole point. This picture is great. The overexposed sun gives it the feel that the rappeler is coming out of the heavens, while the texture and shadow on the rock is quite striking, and helps to separate the world above from the world in to which he's descending. The individual in the photograph doesn't draw too little or too much attention to take away from the overall shot, nor should he. He is just a part of the overall event, and though somewhat hidden in shadow, subtly adds to the overall effect. I see no reason to change it, as doing so would only make it an entirely different picture... but we're not rating a different picture, we're rating this one, which I enjoy everytime I look at it.
Is that bog haunted?
gotta love the slab.... eck!
Amazing, awesome, cool, fantastic, STRAP ON THE SKIS!!!!
This place haunts my dreams. Stop it, stop it!
Love those Grampians!
That rock is just awesome.
I love this pic... it makes me think of spiderman! 10.
My mouth is watering.
Shees... this would make the worlds greatest "slip and slide" in the rain!
Cool, Spiderman has arrived!
Yet another Grampians masterpiece!!!! Will somebody PLEASE buy me a plane ticket out of here?!
I hope you can hit the bulls eye below when you fall. I don't think it will help much, but I'll give you 50 points!
Cool, just plain cool.
I like this one! You captured a great facial expression, "I'm freezing and I want this problem!!!" Great contrast and feeling with the snow.
This is a fantastic line. Everyone who visits Mt. Lemmon should give it a try. Probably one of the best photo ops on the mountain, though there are many!
crimping is easier when your faking the moves... or thinking them out... are his feet on yet? It is a nice clean shot...
I love this shot... makes me feel desperate...
Dr. Kodos! You're even better looking then I imagined!
Posed or not, this is an awesome shot!
What is that shiny stuff down low?... Oh!... it's WATER! Took me a minute... So where are all the sandy washes?
"supposed" to heel hook? Why not a one arm campus the whole way?! Better yet, hang from your toes and try a tipsy traverse! :)
Good job shooting the Flora. We climbers need to look at the soft stuff too!
Nice left foot... or whatever.
Ka... BOOOOOM!!!!! Wouldn't like to see that beauty blow it's top...
Good ol' Steve. I miss the Lemmon. Time to move back to Tucson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the sharpest shots I've seen in a while. Nicely done. Ten in my book.
We need to see a larger version... Awesome shot!
Whoa... how did you get those four guys up there at once?!
10. Awesome angle, great color... oh, and it's Arizona! I love how the size of the rope at the bottom corner is nearly as thick as the climber in the frame... I'm suddenly enthusiastic just by looking at this one! I say bolt it! (Devil that I am...)
This shot harbors a lot of summit nostalgia... I love it!
Collins, is that you?! Wacko, get down from there!!!!!!!!
Ick. My fingers are burning at the thought...
Squirrel: "Do I need the rope... I could maybe just solo it... What do you think, Biff?"
Check out the biker strand on the road! I love Arizona...
Wow, the whole area looks like one big cush crash pad!
Love the ocean in the background... This is a great shot.
Mt. Lemmon is simply the best... (but don't tell anybody, okay?)
10 for cuteness.
Is that a passive or active piece hanging off her harness?
10 for the sacrifice!
So that's how green water looks 4 pitches up?! Awesome.
Whoa, LOTR! I vote for High-Res also...
Boy that's a big stump... Can you imagine the tree that came with that bad boy?!
Welcome to Superman's "Fortrice of Solitude!!"
I'm drooling on my keyboard...
I love love how you caught the detail in the gear placements... good shot! Now look out below and get that block the heck of the wall!
is this escalante canyon?
Power lines or slack lines in the background?!
Good pic, but am I seeing a bit of plumbers crack? This is a family site!
Very cool. Most "normal" people wouldn't have a clue what this is all about, which makes it that much more interesting!
BTW, isn't that more like "adobe mortarite"... not necessarily a sandstone route...
I'm asking my wife for an iguana today.
Where in QC is this shot?
Is that the new Prana line? A little drafty don't you think?
a larger version would be choice. good pic.
Looks peaceful. Nice shot.
Just a heck of a shot. Nice.
Sillouettes always get me. Add the twilight and the looming doom of smoke, this pic gets a 10 in my book. (Oh, and the fact that it's in AZ is an automatic plus!)
Blair witchy... but cool.
Yet another orange Australian masterpiece.
Piece of cake, why even bother? (nice shot.)
I really like this shot. All you see is rock blending with climber. The colors are all very close, with exception of the T-shirt. Even his hair looks orange!
This perspective is excellent. Nice Job. It makes me feel like a climber on the wall!
That bolt is enormous!
Thanks Pete, I just read all 19 pages. No sleep for me tonight. Great pics! I hope that guy with the cigarette wasn't harrasing you guys.
Pete, there is a lot of character in that pic. Makes me want to be friends with the guy!
This one puts me in a transe... But where is the pic of the absessed tooth?!
Weird... very cool.
Great job. I agree with Zozo... one of the best silhouettes I've seen!
It is a great shot. I think the blurring is a little too strong though. I'd like to see the pic in full focus, might be interesting. Colors are great tho!
Whoa. Amazing shot... like the rope in the middle of it all... strikingly different than everything else in the shot.
Sweet, I want one!
One of the sweetest sunset shots on the site!
OOOOOOAAAAAAAA!!!!! (Opera voices from the heavens...)
bigger is better.
Love the "ocean" of grass crashing into the rock. flashsixteen is right... Great pic!
Very sharp. Captured a lot in this one, I like it.
Love it. You've got talent for photo editing... what software do you use?
A lot of character in this shot... though some might think it's a Petzl ad!
Nice! Did she stick it?
Awesome creativity man. Now every time I floss I'll be thinking about slacklining! (I'm much better at it in my imagination anyway...) 10.
I keep looking at this one, trying to figure it out, and I just can't. But it is an awesome picture.
Awesome frame, great catch!
Is that the new USA climbing team?
Weird angle, but VERY cool. What kind of lens was used?
Amazing color. Give us more, please.
Este lugar e' perto de Minas Gerais? Tem maneira de escalar acima da agua? Tipo, "deep water soloing?"
What planet is that?!
This shot has action, very vertical rock, nice foliage... a 10 in my book. Nicely done!
Nothing like a good sunset.
Wow. If I print this up and get in the freezer it'll be like I'm actually there! 10.
Is that hat UIAA certified?
Nevermind, there it is... Beautiful rock!!!!
He's not soloing, is he? I can't make out the rope...
Oooh... one more thing: How are you gonna get "Jorasses" up that monster?! (sorry, couldn't resist.)
Whoa! That's about as far from Arizona as you can get!!!!!!!! 10!
Awesome silhouette. For your first shot, I'd say you merit a 10. (But I'm a sucker for these types of shots.)
Sweet. Good work.
Help... Help! The walls are closing in!
Horizon's a bit off, but it's a cool shot!
Finally, a picture of a REAL climber!!!!
Nice job Hillary. Arizona rules!
Sask, which photo editor were you using?
Coldclimb, which do you use?
Nice job... I never have much success catching the stars... ... ... With a camera!
No reason why I would need to know, but what at what grade does the Changing Corners pitch go free?
A larger version would be a 10, hands down.
"I think something just brushed up my leg!" -Luke Skywalker
I'm with phillygoat... the old elmer's glue trick... if not then that is the best flapper I've ever seen (with no blood)...
What about the apparent flat top?! This shot rules!
Someday... China is on my list!
Is it just me, or does the climber look unusually small compared to the belayer? Great pic though.
I only went a little further... this cactus isn't bald all the way up!
I think I see a clan of Urukai off in the distance!
That "lightning" bolt on the far right looks choice. Must check it out!
Hmmm... there seem to be a few cliffs in the background...
It's like Patagonia, or Sierra Nevada Spires... 1/30th scale!
Next trip: Winslow.
And it's so close to Flag, Jacks, and others...
wosaawkfsd... oops, drooled on the keyboard, fingers slipped.
By far one of the best silhouette shots on the sight. Awesome.
Hey, isn't that the "nurse" from that show "scrubs?"
Thanks for sharing. Great pic.
Boulders! Boulders! Boulders! Boulders! Boul... Ooooo look... a climber!
I spy a yellow alien! (Good ol' fella.)
Sweet! This was my first rock climb! Go Kaitlyn!
Sweet. Hollistic Rock Climbing...
Hey, that's my crash pad! 10.
Nothin' like a school bus knocking you off your belay ledge. Drooooollll...
"The blue contrasts nicely with the orange face. Some serious concentration!Awesome!"
Is that a 'fake-bake'? Good pic.
Where's the path?
vertical slab... even worse. What's up buddy?!
Well, duh... But I can't say anything about anyone climbing crack, cause I suck at it.
Hey, it's Radar! I wondered where he went after M*A*S*H!
AZ. 10. Prescott. 10. Granite. 10. Run-out. 10. View/Exposure. 10... Wish I could see the background landscape a bit more. Still love it.
Whoa! I wish I was 4 years old!
Yeah, but would your spotters bolt if it started rollin'?!
Total air. Great timing!
The large version is fantastic. Keep up the great work!
Curious... how steep are the cables? Great picture. Almost Ansel Adems style.
Wow. Hidalgo Nuevo Leon has officially been added to my tick list of areas. Whoa!
That's WI-4, right? Not W-14?!
Great Picture. Cuidado with the Mormon comments folks... I'd rather deal with some careful mining than restricted access issues! (i.e. Queen Creek/Oak Flats!) BTW, Mormons who try to practice poligamy are booted from the religion. Once again, great Picture.
Amazing. The climber and pilar look like a giant Christmas tree ornament!
So when do we get to see the video?
Wow. The mood I'm in right now forced me to give you a 10. This pictures feeds a lot of cravings.
Mabye the rock IS a sponge... ??? If not, then the photographer did a fantastic job... It really gives you the effect that the headwall above the climber is inches in front of you. But that would mean the climber is G.I. Joe size...
I spy a yellow alien...
that rope is so perfectly straight it looks like a pole...
lots of loose rock, but enough solied climibng that it is definately worth putting up a direct route.
Fantastic. HQ please!
Great shot... even better if you crop the pads, IMO.
It's a trap! ...if you put your hand in the light, hundreds of poisonous darts will shoot out of the walls. Just a friendly word of caution.
OKAY! I can't hide it anymore... It's shopped! Hence the "PS" in the caption. I'll submit the original and a couple more if anyone's interested. I have to admit, the temptation to jump off the falls was huge... I've heard anything over 120 can be fatal if you're not a professional diver, so 100 is pushing it, IMO... I've been off 75 feet myself, and that was scary. STILL, the temptation was there... maybe next time.
Pollution, smollution. People, smeople. Larger, shmarger. Colors, shmolors. Montana, smMontana.
Oct. 3, 2003, wow. That's the day I got married. Any other day and I might have joined you. This one really puts me on the moon. 10.
I have a lot of pictures of the day, unfortunately that side of the rock was in the shade. But it made for a nice back drop. You can check the others out HERE Also, I have dynoed for that HUGE hold before, but this was just a hang to show some friends how huge the hold was, and not to worry about the level of climbing. (It was their first time.) I didn't know my brother was taking the shot. They all did FANTASTIC for their first time.
There is only one, but a couple of good cam and nut placements. The bolt is by my waist.
So many elements outside of the cave... more rocks (to climb), varied terrain, grass/farmland, river and lakes/ponds, blue mountain drop, desert mountains (right), beautiful sky. Great color. Oh, and the cave with the ropes and the gear and the climber and the shadows, ooh-wee, wa-ahh, glaven... haven, hiben.
It sounds great, by the way.
I can blow on it and it works... so it doesn't take a lot of wind. Maybe 5-7mph...?
Havasu Falls. www.havasupaitribe.com Worth the hike, or the horseback ride, or the chopper lift... We chose the hike.
The 6 figure eights were a long story... Here's the short version: Had two, dropped one off a cliff (butterfingers...), bought a replacement... Borrowed to for a group activity, never found the original owner again, and the 6th one... well I actually have no idea where it came from!!
Actually, the whole side of my house is covered with climbing holds... Those just happened to be in the shot. There are even holds in the eves... it makes for a good traversing excercise, and a lot of the holds are real rock.
Looks like Jacks Canyon, AZ...
Haven't been to the Forks in a while... now I want to go back. I remember this climb... "Pillow Case"... Yah, right... I struggled all the way... I guess my pillows were full of SAND! Nice shot, and good job on the OW.
Looks like she's speed climbing UP the route! Good catch, but I agree that the original background would be more interesting.
Hehe, stalagtite looks like a second leg hanging off the climb. If his silhouette was up against the rock, he'd look like part of the wall! Nice pic.
This is a very dynamic shot. Take some time to examine the vectors and you will see that everything fits. The average of all the vectors apparently opposes the nasty sloper. Now imagine a climber catching this slopper: Body wants to fall, left leg wants to barn door, so climber "whips" the leg back to the wall to maintain his equalibrium. My guess is the leg is at the end of the whip, just about to get forced back at the wall. This would explain the pants not being "draped" over the leg. Now, the quick draws over the left hip... chances are he is "slapping" his way up the slopper. On a steep climb like this one, draws tend to flop around a bit. These draws most likely moved over his hip in the dynamic movement to the sloper, and now the slapping motion is causing them to bounce a bit. The draws over the right hip are hanging the same as the one just above him on the wall. As far as the location of the rope... first of all, it's yellowish color causes some degree of camoflauge, enhanced by the fact that the rock is slightly blurred, to bring focus to the climber. Not to mention the features in the rock create a perfect corner that could potentialy hide the rope. I don't believe the climb he is on is directly below him either... you will notice a bolt on the wall directly below the free quickdraw. The bolt is empty, suggesting that he came from a route to the left. His apparent movements support this as well. In fact, if he did come from the left, most of everything he alread climbed is hidden by an overhang just below him (hence the missing rope.) AWESOME SHOT! Thanks to the photo trolls, I actually examined it - and enjoyed it, much more! I'll give you a 10. (8 for the result, 1 for the hard work to get it, and 1 more for putting up with all the crap! )
Oh, Jorge, muchas gracias por la introduccion!
Great pic Jorge! Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to help the little ones conquer a fun challenge like this one!
PS a piece of straw in the corner-guy's mouth and the picture will be a winner in my book!
Have you attempted the "no hands" ascent?
Holy Cow! Amazing. This is one of those walls/featrues that most people (and even some climbers) would see and think "How beautiful." But the thought of actually climbing it would never even cross their minds!
Ed, your truck is ENORMOUS.
This shot made my day.
Ansel Adams, meet Adam Furh.
Dude, did you do this jump without a belay?!
Mt. Lemmon. I love that place. The Ruins is a phenomenal are. Great shot.
I would give you a 10 if you were wearing a Kilt.
Nice shot... makes my palms sweat... I take it he made it...
Cool angle! I hope the camera is okay... A larger version would be great...
Is that first draw like 5 feet off the ground or what? If so, that's a low crux! Risking a deck fall if you peel off that one... It's a good picture, but looks like a boulder problem with draws and a rope thrown in to the mix just for kicks... or maybe the angle is just wierd?
ATIR, you screwed up your sensorship and missed the first two... Calm down man! It was a good move with the reservoir... that'll keep the tourists out, er well, at least the land lovers! Ppffttt... CHILL OUT. Some people get so worked up about using the resources we've been given! Why don't we drain Lake Powell while we're at it?... it was much better BEFORE we added that dam water. I don't need electricity... and water skiing sucks a$$ anyway. In fact, we should completely strip every head of cattle out of the west and southwest, reseed it with native plants, and let it get back to the way it was before ranchers started grazing the land! Jeeze! I mean, come on, who cares about progress, power, food, and air conditioning! We should all live like it's 1776! There are too many of us anyway, and that HH looks pretty ugly to me! Hey, if we drain it, then we can put a road through the middle of it! That's would be much more natural than a friggin lake!
Improbable position? Not really, he could have a nice mantle for the right hand, or even a difficult "reversed" gaston. Concievable, but looks very contrived and straining... Maybe after hitting the left hand catch then using a few friction moves with the right hand on the face, partly to add opposition to the lousy left hand, but also to push his center up high enough to match the left hand... eek... Cool pic.
Wa?! Climbing with celebrities. Awesome!
Latest report: My precious figure 8 chime was STOLEN at a public event downtown, while running our mobile climbing wall... I'm in morning until I can scrounge up another half-dozen 8's! The soft pleasant ringing from the back patio is no longer.
Amazing. I love how the pines and plants are growing up the cliff shelfs! Mountaineering at it's best! I can imagine there are some high quality bivy's in that green stuff!
Sweet. PS out the trees and he'll look like a giant on a 500 foot tower!
I have to agree... nice hands. But it's a great picture.
Looks like a big BUTT sitting in the desert! (sorry... that's what I saw...) But it's cool.
IS that helmet OSHA certified?!
Congrats... this one keeps on poping up on the front page.
Interesting... I see the rope, it's totally there... don't know what the big deal is... It was easy to find after I took my eyes off the climber!... gear? who needs gear?! (She's probably near the top anyway... and maybe there are some open shuts? Or draws a-waiting... Anyway, great picture, snag.
Ahhh! Looks like the walls are closing in! Nice pic!
Exellent job! Climbing AND Photography...
It's not that it doesn't look right, it's that the lighting makes the wall seem very.... cozy. Like she's climbing indoors or something. I think its a fantastic shot.
fake? maybe... high res please. Looks beautiful!
Jeez I love this picture! Such an awesome feel. Just another blasted area on my dream tick list!
Very creative! Never seen climbing and expresso caught so well together!
What kind of plant is that in the foreground I wonder?
Balls man. That's awesome.
Those clouds scare me! They're frickin' awesome.
Going for the Dyno-high-five with a butt slap! Nice. Did he stay on?
Awesome pic... but I would trust my life on that sling for all the Nature Valley "Sweet 'n Salty Nut" bars in the world.
Choss usually means loose rotten rock, right? Don't think I've run in to much of that at Jacks... good pic!
I can see the whole photo on my screen just fine... ?? Awesome shot. Look like fun. What'd ya take the fall on?
Jeez. So what's the point of the copper heads? Might as well solo! Awesome climbing, great shot.
So many routes to choose from! We'll definately be returning soon.
Time to lead it. Lemme guess... 4 or 5 pieces... all the same size!
Awesome shot. I have to agree about the bolted anchors though... seems kinda ridiculous at that spot...
Am I going to be the first to say it? High Exposures has GOT to stop putting graffiti all over the crags. Even if they think it "blends in." Cool pic though.
Thank you. I'm a sucker for good silhouettes.
Is that the "bunny poop?" If it is, that's one big bunny!
Something about the desert... amazing...
Looks like an ancient pyramid of Egypt... except for the looming overhanging slab next to it! Give us something to gauge the size of this formation, Please?
Is this really Angel Falls?!! If it is, then WHOA! Climbing next to those falls has got to be the coolest experience ever. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! 10.
THIS is what I've been waiting for!!!
Nice work. 2 great pictures in one.
A full size image would be a 10 in my book. Nice shot.
High res woud get a 10 in my book. Awesome.
I like the angle. This shot is great... it gives you a lot to look at, a lot to explore. The climbing action, good spotters, a view of the entire problem, (except for a bit at the base maybe), a clear view of the top, and an awesome desert background. The horizon needs to be leveled and the sky is a bit whited out, but even with that this is a great picture!
Amazing. He's looking at your feet thinking "Those boots look tasty!" 10 for sure.
Larger version, Please!!! This is a great pic.
Bummer! From the front page I thought for sure he was walking on water! A little PS work and you might have your self a winner! (Though the REAL thing would earn you a 10.) Nice pic though.
The climber gets my high mark... those to posers down below wouldn't have been so... posed... if this was a candid shot! Sheesh, I wish my spotters were always that dedicated!!!!
Sucks to be the second... Nice pic though.
I can't help but think a Brontosaurus is going to pop his head in there somewhere! (The Land Before Time!)
good grief, places like this only exist in my imaginary world... impressive
I don't think I've seen a climbing picture capture the moment better than this. Amazing.
Nice dive... DWS anyone?
Looks nice... where is it? I'm going to Minn next week (Winona).
Fantastic. Keeps my mind moving constantly! The boulder is rolling off to the right, the climber is whipping off to the left if he falls, gravity itself seems to be pulling in the wrong direction. The pad is definitely a plus - it gives a sense of humor to the shot, because it looks useless! It helps eleviate the feeling of impending doom brought on by the fog. All the while, the oblivious onlookers have now idea of the excitement below them. At least, that's how I see it. Amazingly done, send some more!
Now that's a great living room window!
Clear Creek sandstone is perfect for wet shoes and no chalk! My question: What is the source of your lighting? GREAT PICTURE!
Looks like a lot of fun... I think I have cabin fever. I think I'll get on it this week some time...
Ah, the power of the Chihuahua... such a fun classic... missing the desert climbing... such an amazing place.
Gonna be there in a month... looking forward to it!
Incredible shot. Nice work.
