4 out of 5 stars Well "way above and off to the right of the Cookie" seemed wordy, and "sort of above the Cookie" didn't seem any better :)

Actually not a big deal for the photo set up -- just jumared up the rap line, sat and waited. I wanted to do some shots from the back of the roof, but severely backlit at the time.

4 out of 5 stars In Hong Kong, you don't have quite the same debate over bolting as you do in the States -- after all, this is a place where many of the hiking trails have concrete slab and the occasional handrail.

Most of the routes in Hk are bolted, and I think very people own gear racks.

Hardcoreclimber -- the route is called 'Mr. Slate'. the climber is called 'Ms Helen' :)

Cool photo! I have the identical chalkbag, bought it in a climbing shop in Amsterdam about eight years ago:

The hanger won't go on if the biner is attached. So, you'ld still have to unclip it from the draw, place the hanger, and then reclip the draw.

It's 5.11a, pretty continuous.

Yes, this is the Monument. Just added it to the route database. Climbed this about 12 years ago -- the start of the roof was wet and covered in green slime, and the rock is very sharp. Halfway out the roof, my tape gloves were the color of a bar of Irish Spring, soaked, and in tatters. Cool moves at the lip.

Thanks for the suggestion! I replaced the background.

I had jugged up to the anchors on the Abyss, planning on taking photos of the upper bulge on that route. While I was shooting the Abyss, I glanced over and noticed the Agave arete. A very cool route, and Jon just floated up it.

That route is actually Mickey Mantle, not Mean Streak.

Do you mean the different ropes? The person in the photo is toproping on the free end. There is a third bolt hidden behind the climber around waist height, causing the sharp bend in the leftmost rope.
