she's looking pretty determined there !
good climb, different angle shot
yah, it sure looked pretty that weekend, but came with a price ; millions upon billions of mosquitos...
wow, this is an awesome shot showing the detail and texture of the volacnic tablelands rock !!!!
thanks, I was VERY happy with it, tahoe has beautiful climbing
looks more like a puddle then a glacier ;)
no way, just power through it :)

alabama hills, CA
eastern side of the sierras..
what is he doing with that cam?
whoah, cool :)
hummm :) yay
we stick clipped the first bolt(probably not even necissary, but what the hell), i was not able to onsight, but i did repoint it the second time :)
sand is just little pieces of rock, right ? see, it has to do with rock climbing
aww, all he wants is a hug !
haha yah, beanie, pants.. hottest weather in SD ?
nice suspenders !!!!
haha awesome ! love the facial expression
definatley shows the sense of exposure on this problem..
hahaha nice problem name
nice shot !
it is a 'cool' pic, but does not look too 'natural'.. nice job though !
very nice shot !
I like your mammut ad shot better though.. still an awesome shot
the vingetting is appalling
who needs flexiability when you have JEANS !
too much effect, was this for an ad?
foreground rocks are distracting
stupid.. just plain.. maybe it would be cooler if it were harder then a easy pole i've climbed 1000 times myself
nice PP :)
why is this b&w? it should be bright orange and deep blue, i would have liked this in color, imho. still good but different
its made out of 'fun' parts ;) nuff' said
I see why this is called 'pucker face' ;)
but it looks cool, right? ;)
(pull down like de jesus)this is a v4+ in the secrets guide, feels like a v3 ;) height dependant though, i'm ~6'
cragb : this is a perspective shot, i posted a few other shots of him on this boulder problem...
chris : you talking about brian (aka. dude)?.. I heard about that.. what a crazy F'er..
yah, DOF is almost too distracting..
highexposure link is too distracting, un-natural skin tone.. good composition though
If you do it for yourself, why are you spraying about it on rc.com? hypocritical much?
nice shot, good color, his face is a little blownout
yah color is horrid
lost a lot of detail in the highlights, the background and climber are exposed well ;) but great shot, maybe nearer sunrise/sunset is the time to shoot this
this is ORG, ethic is bolted climbs
classic 'overhang rock' shot
only a woman could perform that move ;)
don't worry, I'll be out there soon to setup some lines ;)
There is also a problem that starts just left of tree on the bannana and heads up and right to the horn right of the tree
mmm. looks... chalky?
yotes are like vultures in Josh
yotes are like vultures in Josh
dof just distracts from the subject.. you keep wanting to look at the rock and not the climber
i like this photo a lot espically the rock texture
haha nice, do you clip that piton?
i don't understand what angled is..
why is the pad facing down?
best v5? what about cocaine corner?
cool lookin' face
no words need to be said
nice power lines ;)
so this is 'free climbing' ahh.. i finally understand
crocs and evolv are in style in mexico? ;)
confirmed, tide dependant ;)
is that lightning or a 10,000w bulb?
critique ; the lighting is too artificial, its like there is some nice low soft light, but then you use the flash and its like 'blam, white light' the lighting does not flow well between flash and natural light. also does not show enough of the enviroment for a photo that could include some background/foreground interest
still a decent photo though.
coastal : photoshop is a tool, just like a hammer.. it can be used to kill someone, or build a house.. it all depends on how you use it and your intended purpose.
looks like a cool bloc
yup, I'd like to climb with her :)
since when is climbing 'kid' and 'adult' sized.. i know young kids that crank hard on anything.. climbing has no age/sex/race bounderies.
lots of yos bouldering development going on now :) problem looks sick...
thats a hot bunch of climbers there !
wow, that boulder has some awesome possibilities.
sorry, but that's not atari, that even looks like the buttermilks.
yah, rock on.
this is hilarious
you are... too.. cool...
that steep left to smooth face looks f'ing AWESOME
now traverse without using the lip and under the small roof ;)
that inside arete looks sick...
thats because a v0 at a gym is more like 5.7
looks like a ankle crusher if you fall though ;)
f'ing sweet !
pretty girl, pretty rock, nice shot ;)
this is such a cool face, too bad its so short :(
get this garbage off here !
yup, thats yosemite footwork; untied shoes ;)
yah, the compression on this site sucks.
thats the catacombs, on the eastern rim of ORG
hahaha, you have got to be kidding me, this is fucking hilarious, what is this a beta topo of an eleminate problem, that that is horrible?! hahaha i am seriously lauging my ass off now *CRYING*
haha this is such a fun problem! hang like an ape ;)
look at those awesome boulders at the bottom!
there is a flat lip.
thanks :) i work up at 6am in 10* temps and drove all over the milks to find this shot
where is your face?
it is definitely a great side, but thats your best side? ;)
nice, I don't think anyone has got on or sent this in a long time, did he onsight the whole route?
bachar-yerian is a notoriously run out route with 50+ foot runout sections and full pitches with only 2 bolts
I was watching the moon all night long to get the timing right because I knew it would be setting somewhere near that spot and I could get a decent shot from the milks, I actually drove all the way up to the buttermilks to find out that I couldn't see the moon, so I had to drive back out to find an appropriate spot :)
thats Mt. Basin & Mt. Tom
no this is a single exposure.. I used a Neutral Density Filter on the lens to adjust the exposure of the foreground
nice shot karl, I love the placement of the reflection with the leaves surrounding it.
yup off i-395 near Mono Lake, I'm not going to divulge the actual road because I do not want anyone to bother the 'locals', or get shot by them ;)
elephant rock rocks ;)
superbum : regardless of income level, some people do not want others encroaching on their 'property', the eastside is a little more wild than the more populated areas so I would not have been surprised if someone came out with a shotgun asking what I was doing in their area. I have encroached illegally on property for other photos and there IS risk involved with some locations as is with climbing; some areas are sensitive, some are not. some areas are cool to bring the dog and family, some you need to sneak into and worry about someone coming out with a gun :) I'm poor too, so I could care less about income, I drove up in a beater ass pickup and lived the whole week on $60
Monkey : I'll have to lookup all the specifics of the shot, but it was probably something like 200iso f16/1s. I shot it with a D50, 18-55mm lens and a 2 stop soft NDF filter.
well, the exposure time on this was something like .7 - 1.0 seconds with the lack of blur on the clouds and they were moving at a decent speed.
and yup, I use a tripod for majority of my nature/landscape shots, even if its not needed for the shutter speed, it slows down the composure and allows a much more thoughtful photograph (espically in the digital age of shooting a million pictures)
