i wanna suck 'em
That's not a cart, it's a shrine to the princess. And yes, I did get it.
That is my kind of woman! I especially like the climbing helmet and the bare feet. I can't remember what was so funny, though.
Great pic. I love spiders! Have you seen my post about the spiders at Rumney?
No, mother_sheep, we didn't meet on this site, but we did meet climbing.
It's Peter Pan!
IT'S HAPPY HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sky is amazing!
This is one of my favorites!
Hey, are you wearing a shirt?
don't grab that tree!
This is a baby compared to some of the ones I have seen there.
Yeah, there's nothing like drinking and climbing. What a combination!
That's one big beer! It seems that she is holding a drink in a lot of our photos. I wonder why?
"What is it with the obsession with male anatomy?"
I don't know, you brought it up.
I've seen that face before!
There is nothing like the loud "baaaaaaaa" and "heeeehawwwww" that you hear when you get to the top of Main Cliff. Good times...good times...
The clouds just started to break when we got to the top. 5 minutes before this you couldn't see the lake.
how about in your soul?
Yeah, me too! oops, did I say that out loud?
Dum's kitchen was the BOMB!
Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! I wanna go back!!!!!!!!
Thanks, I find that when climbing a route I always have a guidebook, but when bouldering I just hop on what looks interesting.
This is NOT a ten! Climbing photos need to show action and have good landscape to be highly rated. Now if you were comparing to posing photos, it would get a higher rating.
No, she made it on her own, but the tighter rope makes her feel better.
Not quite a ten, but close. The layers in the sky make the photo.
Wouldn't you like to know.........actually, it's on her back.
So very sexy!
And what a nice butt it is.
Actually, you look kinda pissed!
Who's the geek wearing socks?
Ah, you ruined my fun! Actually, I remember thinking, "I don't remember it being that steep."
Look at those sexy muscles! Not to mention those cute little pigtails.
Ahhh, what a face!
Almost there, baby!
Come on, there's a big smooch waiting for you!
What are you saying?
I hate photo bombers, man! This photo is at least a 7. If I was a chick, this would be on the front page!
Oh please! You know you want one.
What are you talking about? I can't rate my own photos. It might not be a 10, but it's not a 3 or 4. I have seen much worse photos than this on the front page. Oh btw, if you have ever seen me in a dress, I think you would change your tune.
Nice shot, Gabe! There is a pic of me following this route in my photos. Not quite as nice as this shot, though. I cant' wait to get back and lead it.
Cant' you see the #1 Camalot by my nose?
That was the first piece. The ground isn't too far under that.
Very nice!!! Now, gimme a little sumthin' sumthin'
I love Acadia!
Back at ya, baby!
Lonesome Lake, by Cannon Mt.
You've read too many books. You always trust your life to ONE rope, and as far as the tree goes, the redundancy is in it's thickness and the roots.
So, I like tall women! But, why are we so grainy?
I like the part where you said "luckily, I got to clip the old rusty piton."....Good one, ha ha !
Luckily, the fall was higher up...away from that tree!
Wonderwoman thought she was logged in as herself. I don't usually call myself a hottie.
I like this!
Nice job, meg! Maybe I will get on this next year.
Most little girls are wearing prana these days. Not my girl. Check out the American Idol sweatpants!
Be careful not to trip over that tail in your knot, ha! ha! Nice back, btw!
OOOhhhh!, that gri gri is heavy, man, it's gonna pull me off!
It felt harder than 5.6, too! It was fun. THere is something about climbing next to the ocean that is just plain awesome!
That was the bottom. It steepens at the top. It was a mental hang. If I did again right after, I wouldn't have. But, what're you gonna do? I am not ashamed, I am not ashamed, .....
Awesome, Jen. I miss the gunks! Hey WW, when are we going?
That's not a fall, tis a mere slip. You will get it next time, with or without your cheerleaders!
This is one of my favorite climbs. This summer, I am going to start working on leading it. I gave you a ten just because I love the climb.
This would be a great photo if the picture quality were better.
Floating orbs, Tiff's send energy.....I had it all.
Best 5.7 that i have climbed. If you want a challenge, climb that larger crack to it's left. It's called London Bridges (aka. Bitch). Says 5.8 in the guidebook, but I had an easier time with some 9's and 10's in Acadia. Led it clean, but it was a struggle.
All right, then, I took this picture....But no mention of it.......hmmmmmmmmm.
And this one.
How about this one? hmmmmmmmmm? Nice rack, by the way.
Wait a second, I took that pic!
I like the shadows, it makes my back look huge.
Hey, chikinv10, it's a nice change from your basic bouldering pic....BORING!
That's what you get chicken little...Ha! Ha!
don't you mean december 2004?
That is absoltuely beautiful! Skies are amazing. I admire it every evening, but here in Boston, it is not quite as lovely as this.
Dude, are you crazy? Weren't you ever told to stay away from power lines? You are gonna die!
You mean Up Among The Firs, Not Brunser. Brunser was fairly close to the parking lot. Up Among the firs is a nice crag, but if you take a wrong turn, prepare to wander around for a while.
I wish I did that one when we were there! Oh well, maybe next time.
nice route and nice shot!
Nice, James! I believe you finally sent it, right?
I loved Encino Man!
Jughead, your thinking of someone else. This is a fairly new picture. In fact, I beleive I was there when it was taken. The pic you're referring to is in the Rumney guidebook. I am sure there are more than a few pics taken of falls on this route.
So, that's where you have been? Nice shot!
Happy belated birthday, Gabe! How long did it take you?
No, this is not Sweet Surrender. I believe you are on Dynamo Hum.
I would've gone with the Large! Nice shot, though. A 5! That just doesn't have the same ring as a 10.
You need more stuff!
Real nice route. We did that one while we were waiting for Local Boys Do Good. I used slightly different technique though. I scampered up with left foot jam and right foot smear. Worked for me!
Stunning! Not your usual background, but I like it!
Jealous, anyone? 5.8, my ass. Oh by the way, I did not bring the camera. Just got lucky when a friend was on the same ledge.
We did this in one pitch. Makes for a nice long climb. We did use double ropes, though. We were racking up for this climb when I looked up and saw a bear about 20 feet away. Yikes!
Hey, burrito! I am not mean to my partners, just the stupid ones ;) And for your imformation, bees are fine, it's those terrifying wasps and hornets. Hmmmm, did someone say naked? That just might work. Andbody can do Shockley's in the buff, but the "Dangler" sounds more appropriate :)
awesome photo!! (shameless self-promotion)
Pylon, that's pretty much it. It's a pumpy boulder problem 150 feet above the ground. After you pull this move, it's like 5.3 to the ledge.
Looks like a great route!
Not the best angle, and you have a weird look. Could be worse, though, a butt shot.
The most interesting part of this one is the contrast between the rock and sky.
I like this one the best. I don't know why. ANd, Oh Yeah.....RUNNNNN!
It's a great angle, but if you had taken a bunch in sequence, you might have been in a better body position. Looks like a cool route, though.
Sweet photo, Gabe. Looks like your not the only one who can take photos. This route, both versions (traverse and roof) remains my favorite Gunks route.
Is there a climber in there. I can't see because of the shadow.
love the color!
I have seen a lot of Predator pics, but I think this is the best one I have seen, even with the tilted horizon. Nice job!
I give up. WHo?
If this was a man, it wouldn't be on the front page. No disrespect, I mean, she looks great, but it looks like she's climbing over a boulder that's on a hill.
sevrdhed, you need to chill out a little. My point was that I didn't think overall it was that great of a picture. It was ok, I just don't think it was cropped right.
I have been on 12b's that I thought were easier, but it is all subjective. Either way, I always like seeing photos of the northeast on the front page.
I gave this a 1. Yes, I bombed it! This is the only photo I have ever rated so low. Why? Because it's out of focus, not framed very well and is of someone's gear hanging on a rock. Why is it on the front page? All I can come up with is that people thought it was so bad, they thought it would be funny to rate it high. Well......good one ;)
It too dark. Otherwise it looks good.
Uhhh, why is this on the front page?
Awesome! I like the different textures all around from the pad to the rock to the sand to the tat!
I usually hate slack photos, well, because they are not climbing. But...I'm a sucker for a sunset. Nice job!
Not front page material. With the other rope in the picture and it being a butt shot, I couldn't give this more than a 3. The contrast of colors is all right, but otherwise just a mediocre picture.
I like this, but can you resubmit it in a larger size?
3 or 4? You sure there arent' 6 or 7? If a route is this crowded, then it simply isn't worth doing. I have spent my fair share of time waiting at belay/rappel stations, and now I avoid that like the plague.
Very cool photo!
Great timing and angle. The only detractor was the spotter, but I would hate to see her injured for a better picture. I still gave it a 5, because the colors of the bright climber and the dark colors of the spotter insure that you focus on her.
nice pink rope!
You look extremely happy for someone who is about to be attacked by two unidentified flying hexagons (UFH's).
nice action. I especially like the fact that he is holding his breath. This would have been cool with a series of photos through the move...before, during and after the move, when he breathes again.
Luke...the force is strong with this one....oh wait, what am I doing...this is dorky!
Cat's tail? What are you talkin' about? Did someone say 'Meow'? C-C-C-Catfight!
Yeah, you didn't send, but you look goddam good. ANd that is what it's all about!
I miss Railay! Hoping to go back there next year.
You mean first clean ascent by you, right? Because someone must have hung the draws, since you are not carrying any. BTW, this might be the best climb of any grade at Rumney. Nice send.
Great moment. Love the focus in her eyes.
I agree with the above comments....next time lead the direct....and NICE RACK!
Hey, she only gave me $10 :(
What are you talking about, those pitons are good for, like 30 years. Oh wait....let's see 1968 + 30= 1998....uhhh, nevermind.
Amazing, stupendous, exhilarating, fantastic, extraordinary ...............................That climb looks pretty nice, too ;)
One the nicest 5.7 pitches in the Northeast! It looks even nicer with you on it ;)
I wanna do this route!
I like the matching helmet and jacket.
Yay, I just saw it on the front page. Now, I have been on the front page, but this is my first photo that I took that made it. How many people can say that they have been both subject and photographer that have graced the front page?
I can't decide who has the cuter hair bun ;)
Nice send, sexy!
Original route? No Way, I'm goin' direct!
I agree. The scenery is awesome. The climber position is awesome. But wish you were in the light. I gave it a 4.
Awesome! For your efforts I give you a 5!
This is one of my favorite routes...ANYWHERE! I have yet to see this angle. Nice Job! You can usually get a decent shot from your belayer (from the ledge), so probably no one has bothered to set up this shot before.
This is a really nice shot. Just one comment. If you waited later in the day or took it earlier in the morning, you would have a better sky. It wouldn't be as bright. Everything else is perfect.
Oh....It's ALWAYS my birthday ;)
Don't listen to her. She's from Asia, all right!
Hah! Too bad they all have Green!
I thought it meant Facebook for the win!?
Nice, Jen! I am a little jealous, though. I haven't been on the front page in a while. Anyway, this is THE best climb of it's grade at the Gunks, IMNSHO (In my not so humble opinion :)
Thanks for the comment. This climb actually has 6 bolts on it. I think I put in 3 pieces of gear. You COULD do it with the bolts only, since the hardest parts are bolt protected.
And I'm glad the wasp decided to just buzz my head rather than bite or sting me :)
Ha Ha! Yeah, that was my inexperience submitting photos with a mac.
It's not! That draw is actually attached to a piece of gear (a nut I think) in another crack on the face. This is the northeast. If you were to bolt next to a crack, first, it would be chopped, then you would be shot. ;)
The focus in her eyes makes this shot. Good position, good colors, good job! Well done!
Yeah, I don't think this should be on the front page with no climber on it, but it looks pretty sweet.
I agree with GG, he should be wearing pink :)
This climb is awesome. When I did it, I forgot my camera.
This is by far the best shot of this route I've ever seen. Nice job, Doc!
I don't know who is photobombing this, but I think it's quite awesome!
Such a fun climb!
Nice photo, but does anyone else think that Crazy Horse Buttress is a weird name for an area in Thailand? I expected this to be in like Montana or Idaho.
You're not done yet. Pine Tree Eliminate is right in front of you ;)
Yay! Another one of my photos on the front page! If she's Whitey, does that make me his girlfriend?
Why does this keep getting on the front page? I mean, it IS probably the best picture of a rap anchor I've seen, but... it's a rap anchor.
Here's another one without the tilt. http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos/Trad/Aaah..._Exposure__101698.html
BTW, it looks wet when you did it.
I don't get it.
