Thanks for the comments guys!
trolling for pic votes? maybe it's because, of the three in this series, this one is the best. nice pic tho, for a gym pic! ;)
I love vignetting! Nice perspective!
at first I thought you wrote money shot! wow...
no. I'm core. nice pic merock!
...just need a few more ingredients for the bbq...
Great shot, way to capture the Gunks feel!
Good stuff Gabe, I'm glad you posted these!
I'd have a smile like that on too if I didn't have a job eating up the majority of my time, yet could still afford to be a climbing bum for a few weeks!! Nice pic GO thanks for submitting.
...and quite a show that must have been for them. Hey, this pic needs a dialogue bubble full expletives!
Wow, nice! I saved and edited your pic, removing the date stamp. See what you think. here
hehe, probably just some distortion from the wide angle lens
I love it! Any trips planned with all the frequent flyer miles you're logging? heehee
Your shadow in the middle is sweet...It helps convey delicacy, power and frustration.
is the belayer a distortionist?
mmm, nice shot! I'd stack that gear up too if there was a chance I'd take a 60ft whipper on wires.
nice! Tis the season for little rocks Julia? :)
yeah! I love climbing through birdshit too!
how does that feel compared to getting "Swained" on your home turf? hehe
I like many of your pictures, but I this one feels too...commercial or staged.
the vignetting is appealing.
This is my favorite of the ones you posted. Mmmmm solos....:)
It's a nice picture, but I think it lacks the adventure implied "venture" :)
eeek! is that cam placed in a wide flare?
Thanks for your comments guys!
Glenn is huuuge!
I think it's Fidelman Arete
wow, what a fantastic setting!
What a great place!
it must be hot out
oh, I get: roots!
whew! I thought it was a stick up!
13b in the rain...wheeeeeeeeeee!
BEC, I don't think he's on the site, but he did send it!
I like this!
Nice, you can see Porking Express in this shot too.
mmmmm lock off with small fingers and roadrunner up a snotty face...nice send GO! (30-35 feet?)
keep those feet warm for the send dude!
I like the action in this one. PLus, lookee them gunz!
A few routes over, you can get some pee-you-pants sport-exposure on Tropicana at a much lower grade (11a). I highly recommed it for those who don't shred 13's, like me. :) (maybe some day)
That's pretty cool. This looks like the start of the second pitch. :)
Trenker? If so, great route!
Rock on Gabe, and nice pic pie! What format is this?
Yes, the New England climbers breakfast! (and I needed a new profile pic)
FWI, I think this is the SG Route, just left of SoHs.
[checking the security of the yellow cord] "...soooo that's prety much it sweetie. Have fun and I'll be back in a few hours!"
fuck yeah, killin'!
Awesome! Good style! :)
You won't need that jacket this week Jeff!
Yeah, I know we've all seen the ceiling before, but it's not often that we get to see it Vulgarian style (last know daylight contribution by Doug Widdis?)
David, I guess it was a Mulgarian (modern vulgarian?) ascent...My bad! :)
I always like how this route looks
send this one you will!
it was a saturday afternoon...3:00-ish? :)
Sweet, steep route!
mmmmmm looks like the Quincy Quarries to me...
Classic indeed, what a great day!
hell yeah, great day!
What a shame, that was an awesome problem!
she has broad shoulders!
Instructions posted beneath the roof? ("In case of emergency...")
A couple months ago I saw some chic pull her pants down at the second belay and piss all over the second pitch. I bet it's...minty.
man, you're really digging in that bat crack.
you better tie that PBR down!
That's a great route, for sure. The pod she's in is a nice break from the painful hands below.
that's great! "...just need to get to the mank and I'm on easy street..."
I've always loved this picture. Time for a FP rally!
That's awesome...just wish it was in higher res!
Is that the equalizing clusterfuck hitch? Bomber!
I like my aliens and place them often.
Was this your first date? Thanks for sharing it with us.
looks like it's cool enough to want sleeves.
you just wanted to shave your legs.
right on Jen! It looks like you got there relatively early in the morning...How did you find the crux roof? Reachy? I think that was my first Gunks 9 too. Good for you!
I love the date stamp!
beanie = aerodynamics. hair gel does too.
rappelling should be a sport of its own!
meh...seen it before. ;)
haha, that rack is the only thing keeping you from leading Gunks 10's!
WTF...Real men climb at Metrorock all year... ;) Nice friggen job Mark!
Wow, thanks for the comments and feedback. This was a fun set to shoot; Jared has been tearing up the cliff. There might be some wide-angle involved to portray some steepness. Thanks again! (and thanks to my wife for belaying!)
Thanks guys! I like this image a lot. The thing it lacks for me is the personal expression of the climber. You get a good feel for the route, but the climber is anonymous...I guess that's the price you pay for adopting this position.
I should also add, that the slings help when you're using nuts as protection. This isn't exactly a splitter, and we like to use passive pro out here. ;)
I like the comments and feedback. Photographically there are few things I would have liked to have done differently...
Regarding the belay, I may just have to assert my opinion over their position in the future.
Regarding the route, I get particular satisfaction out of his expression here. If you've climbed the route, you know what he is feeling at that moment. Thanks again!
I think it's right on for 5.8. Not too hot and not too cold.
Bill, I was using a canon 24-70. This was shot at 40mm, f/2.8, and 1/200.
Edge, you should totally check the crag out! I know you have some big plans coming up...but check it soon! (and hope that it's dry). Also, thank you for the feedback.
lady parts. in a box.
