Nice! Did you work the double knee-bar rest?
How bad was the rope drag?

1 out of 5 stars 8.44??? You've got to be kidding me. The pic is out of focus and the composition is boring. But still it's a great climb and a nice lead. How does one vote on a photo? I can't seem to find a way to do that.

4 out of 5 stars Nice shot of a nasty looking slog. I like the perspective and the colors on the climbers highlight the drab rock in that flat light.

2 out of 5 stars As 49er said, there's a lot of black. Fill flash might help here.

Thanks for the praise guys. Pete, I bet you could only get that light for a few days per year. I just got lucky enough to be there. The color was awesome, orange spotlight around cold blue granite.

As far as f-stop goes, I think I was just trying to get enough light to hand hold the shot at full zoom, so probably wide open as this was taken with 50ASA Velvia. Handholding explaines the blurs, as the camera certainly did move during the exposure, but alas I had no tripod.

3 out of 5 stars Killer crack. I love the kneebar. The photo might benefit from cropping out the junk on the right so that the focus is on the architecture. BTW, you can get rid of hair using th rubber stamp tool in photoshop.

Looks steep. More than 60 degrees? Always nice to see ice starting to peak through. Probably a few more months to go down in these parts.

Are the jaggies at the snow vs. sky line artifacts of compression/resizing, or from the camera?

View this Photo
Thanks to all for the nice words. Yes, this image has been manipulated in photoshop to blur the background and create an artificial depth of field. It's my second attempt at this trick, so be kind. I thought that the background in the orginal image distracted my eye from the real subject. BVB - hanging from the anchors and way off to the side to keep my shadow out of the frame.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Really sweet shot. When does that pitch dry out?

Gaydar - I don't bother carrying around a heavy SLR with manual controls after picking up a digital smaller than a pack of cigarettes, so I manipulate the image afterwards to get the desired effect. Cheers.
