Nice pic of Snowline... looks like you had some fantastic sunshine!
Just the thing this rainy friday morning required... that and more coffee. Good looking ass... er... route, eh.
Great job capturing her eyes staring down the obvious hold. Excellent composition.
Shoulder... rotator cuff. Not so hot, really. I'm actually headed to Squamish this weekend, but ring me next week.
There was a great boulder that I put a pretty good problem up on (in mountain boots) at the base while breaking for lunch... You might get a kick out of that, but perhaps not the 2 hr. approach to it!
Had to shave for the... uh... I'll tell you later
Thank you all for all the great feedback... I hope to be posting more photos soon, but I've been rather lazy in converting my slides to digital until recently. Again, thanks.
Thanks for all the great comments, all. The parkway sees relatively little traffic, fortunately, so I didn't have to dodge too many cars. Cheers.
Nice photo, excellent compostion.
How true! My alpine karma seems to be running high this season, but probably not that high...
Is that really a #5 Camalot!? What did you use that for? Nice climb though, eh?
Yeah, well... I felt a little dirty taking that much gear up, but the climb itself will take pretty much everything you can throw at it if you're creative enough... It's a bit of a slut, that route.
[Shrug] sometimes one's options are limited by positioning... I was above and to the left of the climber and - in order to get a compostion that I liked - the trees will obviously show tilt. Now, I could have been "dishonest" and either cropped (or burned) the background or used a fisheye to "bend" the trees, but I think I like the effect created in this shot. This wall does overhang a bit, in any case ;)
Nice subject, but for the love of god please turn down the contrast... this photo looks like it was "printed" on litho paper!
Very... Corner Journey is around the other side of the arete to the right of the rope. She has gone slightly too far up the initial corner, though...
Slide film typically has less latitude, yes... and more contrast, but there is no "therefore" about it. In any case, I think that you've overexposed your original shot and by adjusting the contrast down a grade or two this will be a much stronger photo. There is no detail in the very light and very dark areas of the "print", lowering contrast will help bring some out; the foreground is, frankly, painful to look at. YMMV.
Excellent compositon and shading. I, too, would like to have this one on my wall!
Oh God... I shouldn't look at pictures like this... isn't helping my therapy at all!
BVB: "artistic rut"... "Technically perfect photos"... Your detractors niether understand the technical aspects, nor the artistic aesthetics of a perfect photo. You done good. Keep up the good work and, in the immortal words of Hunter, "don't take any guff from these swine."
Radical. So... radical. It's rare that I'm at a loss for words... But this is just so... radical.
rest in peace, my friend... it was an honour to tie in with you.
