Ugh. Me thinks the cable ties would cut into the cord. And that would be no good. Just tie together with a double fisherman, and your cares will be forgotten.

Very Nice. Makes me want to climb that route.

Classic

For me, I would be concerned about the loading of biners rigged like that. They would be subject twisting and bending if clipped to a bolt like that. But on that cam with the purple sling is not as bad.
Otherwise, its been years and I need to get out on classic open book climbs like this. Looks like fun. Don

Not trying to get on anybody's case for doing this. I know it has been done. Some were concerned of the biners unclipping, but I was just saying that the biners would subject twisting and bending loading. Espesially on bolt. Which is not the way they are designed. Just food for thought.
I agree, great looking climb. I need to find a good book climb for steming and liebacking. Don

Actually a very cool picture, good use of all colors. I like the way the composition is balanced. The reaching to place the cam makes it come alive. As such it is really not a still life, but an action shot. Sure I can't see where that cam is going, but the climber is focused on it and seams to know exactly what he wants to do with it.
Photographer gets an A+ for timimg and framing. Don

Wow 20 meters to the first bolt. And the rock doesn't look like it takes trad pro real well, although the route is hidden from view. And the rock bulges out. Impressive climbing guys. Don

Yes, this is galvanic corrosion. The carbon steel hanger is rusting faster than normal, and protecting the Stainless bolt from rust. Same reason boaters put zinc coatings and small zinc blocks on their Stainless gear. The zinc rusts out to protect the stainless. Its what climbers should start adding to their bolts/hangers, a small zinc anode.

Where is that, and what does it go at? And what is that thin fin next to the river bank?

Every 10 feet is good. That pitch and climbing looks sustained. So you're looking at a 20 foot leader fall if you were to fall while trying to place a piece. More than long enough for me.
Good lead.

5 out of 5 stars Excelent image. I like the composition and colors. The climbers location and body postion make it and excelent climbing photo. Looks in focus to me, perhaps the climber was in motion and the shutter speed a tad slow?
I like it, very well done. Don

Way to go Christine.
I found lowering my 6yo boy went well by just letting him kind of down climb under full tension. He also climbed up under full tension. With kids, go with what ever works.
Cool climbing on the beach.
