And Megan is bouldering in tennis shoes, nonetheless...
Right on!! New wallpaper ;-)
Nice shot! Way to get 'em, Alex. Too bad we didn't get ot it on Saturday.
From one of my TRs: "...Twelve hours and a brief nap in Fresno later and I was driving through the Wawona Tunnel with Aaron Copeland’s “Appalachian Spring” blasting on the stereo. I pulled over at the parking area and dealt with the usual overwhelming emotions of arriving back “home.” I swear to you, when I punch the proverbial clock heading from this world to the next, if given a choice about passing through the Pearly Gates or taking one last drive through that tunnel – “Pass me the F-en keys.” I’m taking the drive. No hesitation."
That view is permanently etched in my memory and in my heart. There is none finer.
Cold someone get to Photoshopping these photos, already? And post a damn link to 'em where yer done!
Looks like an aid line to me! Beautiful shot.
Beautiful shot, but it is definitely scanned. From the grainey quality, it looks like it's not scanned from the original photo. Did you take the shot? Or is there any way to attribute the photo to the person who did?
Cute! Nice shot of the notorious K-Mac. Guess you weren't joking about "dog in tow." LOL
Right on, Kelly!! Great shot. Looks like my plan to make you my next rope gun is working out great. ;-)
And I'll delete the pics Hillary took of my balloning waist line that indicate WHY I don't sport climb. Shhh....and pass the donuts.
Two chains on bolts -- no hangers. Sounds like the right one. Fun stuff.
Ha! David -- yep. Bought a Canon A80. Love it. Can't wait to figure out how the hell to use it.
You guys are killen me... :-P
I think that's going to cause some terribly premature errosion on the face of Half Dome -- stop it now before it's too late!
Orange -- who pissed on your Wheaties? Get over yourself. Looks fun, Erica.
Bolts?! Juanjo, please... You ever take that many cams on a sport route? Beautiful pic, Kel -- nice shot Curt.
Damn, Jake. What did you do for your 4th trad lead? That's a mighty proud climb for a beginning trad leader. Glad I was there to snap a few photos, Kelly.
Very proud lead, Kelly. Chickie sent this no falls, no hangs and it was her sixth trad lead ever. Oh yeah -- what a lady!
Love it! Wind blowing in Kristen's hair as she's doing a little pre-climb stretching, Meg looks too cool to be bothered by anything, and the blue sky really jumps out at you.
She needs a muzzle and a shot of Thorazine. ;-)
Nah -- I'm not that lucky. ;-)
Excellent shot! Sorry I missed out on that climb. It looks fun.
Chickie cruised it -- very nice lead. ;-)
Uh, that's my leg, actually...
Ha -- You WISH I'd gotten your pants off ya! :-P
LOLOLOLOL! That's one of the best shots I've see. Nice work.
I'll bet that didn't stay on long. ;-) But I have no idea what your description says.
/slap. Meg, you have some serious body image perception issues. ;-)
Large?! Are you NUTS woman??
How would someone NOT vote this a 10? Beautiful.
You need to tag a bottle of Ale-8-1 as a mixer for the Jack. And where's the Confederate Flag webbing?
LOL! Nice job, Rob. That's a hump-buster of a hike in.
or even the lichen.
Look at that chiseled back! Damn, girl. I though you guys in Colorado got soft in the winter. ;-)
It's called "aid." Nice shot.
Sponsors? Yup. They send me checks but keep misspelling my name P-O-S-E-R. Can't figure it out... And Penny, I'll be your personal chauffer if you ever make it out this way.
Nice. Three people really makes a crowd up there doesn't it?
If Wes had anything to do with that anchor set up, it's definitely organized. ;-)
Is it the beer belly?
Mean lil muthers. Watched one chase a lady up a trail at Squaw Peak (PHX) a couple of years ago. At a full sprint (up hill, which was no easy feat on Squaw Peak), she barely got away from it. Also, aren't they non-venomous, but instead the bacteria in their bite is what causes the damage?
Looks like an aid route to me! ;-)
That's awesome. Adoreable. Bring her along on the next wall. Her only duty is to have lunch ready by the time you're done leading the crux pitch.
Amazing how some dick heads just go around voting photos down for no good reason. Nice perspective on the shot. Damn, that's a shallow seam.
Beautiful! Hope to get that view, myself, someday. Looks a little tricky getting over to the groove. Is that a bolt between the left crack and the groove?
The approach is heinous.
You're 23 and you're just now noticing? Heck, at least you don't ACT like a donkey like the guy next to ya. ;-)
hehehe. That's gonna be a stout boulder problem. Much more overhanging than it looks in the photo. But I'll be able to take some killer photos of the "proj" from my ledge. ;-)
Hair...it's over rated.
Dude, you let your iguana free solo? I think that's terribly irresponsible and can set a bad precedent for other iguana owners. I mean, have you thought about the implications this will have on younger lizards? I don't think you realize how much the rest of the reptile community looks up to the iguana and you're glamorizing a very dangerous activity. We're bound to start hearing stories of other lizards plummeting to their death as a result of the irresponsible sensationalizing of lizard free soloing. You ought to be ashamed.
He has a quick draw clipped to something below that talon, above the belayer. You'd still land in her lap. Nice shot.
Ahh, the elusive face shot of the Wallress. ;-) Excellent compostion on the photo, Kate.
Sweeeeet! Man, that's gotta feel good.
Wow. You've gotta be feelin' like "I'M GONNA SUMMIT!!!" at that point. Bet you can smell it from there. *sniff..sniff* "Smell that? It's the TOP!"
I coulda used that thing in Zion last weekend. ;-) Stylin!\
Uh, what's the gear? Don't tell me you're supposed to sling the hummock of grass.
Yet another smokin hot photo of the lovely Kelly. Excellent B&W shot.
I coulda gone a few more decades without seeing an image like that. Think I'll go flush my eyes with acid now...
Somebody please tell dude he's at the top of the climb. There's nothing to dyno up to.
AND he's wearing climbing shoes! What are those, Evlov's?
HOT! Got heat exhaustion and had to bail from the top of P4...again. %&*$#@%&*!
Photo taken by a hottie of a hottie...10. No questions asked. The punter spotting needs a lil work, though. ;-)
Waaaait a minute...are those TREKKING POLES in the background?! Approach foul. No self-respecting climber would resort to the use of trekking poles on any approach. You lose 3 cool points.
So this is the pitiful state of physical fitness affairs that I have to look forward to, huh? Uh, wait a minute...I'm already in that kind of shape.
LOL. OMFG...Ed gets beat about the head and neck with said trekking poles**staggers, and eventually manages to stand**falls back down again, and faintly whispers "joking...just..joking..." just before sliding into a coma.
Ambler, what do you think is photoshopped in this shot? Every punk with a little experience with photo editing software tosses out the same ridiculous comment on nearly every decent photo. Are you implying he enhanced the quality of the photo? Or are you going beyond that and actually insinuating he wasn't even there climbing Zodiac at all? Feel free to elaborate when you can get the foot out of your mouth and the boot out of your ass.
Definitely NOT 11. She parties like she's 25. Actual age close to 18 (+ or - ? I'm not sure). And Rwaltermyer, she's a very cool chickie. Guys have been hitting on her since she was 12. I don't think she minds.
I prefer to flatten them with the heavy steel door of the bear box as they try to raid your food when your preparing a meal. Oops...did I say that out loud?
It wasn't intentional. But I couldn't help but have mixed emotions. "*GASP!!* *giggle*giggle* Poor lil guy. He kinda had it coming, tough..."
Any photo with Tracy in it is hot -- 10!! You lush...
Great shot! Ah, heck -- any shot with Meg in it is stellar. Nice action-capture photo.
Excellent action shot.
Yates rope bag. Sizes S, M, and L. They rock for wall rope bags.
Did this really make the FP?
Great photo! I knew where that was the instant I saw it. FWIW -- ND Gully is no picnic, either...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo -- fertheluvachrist.....I'm voting this a zero just to get it off the FP. *barf*
HOLY?!?!?! What the??? OMG -- you've never looked hotter, baby. ;-) And Bush Rush ain't no freakin .8, in my book. Nice lead.
Oh...my. Thank you, Hillary. Kel, you get hotter every time I see you.
AWESOME shot, Hil! Kaitlyn had such a blast. All of you guys really made her day. Thanks for your patience and for your help babysitting the lil monster.
Nice lil "Hillary Davis" copyright in the corner. Hehehe. Guess that'll teach 'em to not snag your stuff without permission. ;-) Kole rocks -- but his feet still have the funkiest stench on the planet.
Beeee-U-tiful!! K-Mac, if you and Kate team up for a wall this season, we'll have the two best racks in the Valley climbing on the same team! ;-P As for how much it weighs? Dunno -- but Kate can throw it all around with ease. YOU ROCK, BABY!!
*sigh* Damn, I miss that place...
Oh, and "step" spawn, Trac. Mine will be much uglier.
Exactly. I was kind of disappointed she wasn't leading on this outing. Maybe next weekend. She keep complaining, "it's HARD to climb slab in sneakers, Ed!!" "Waaaah...cry me a river kid. How do you expect to lead the A3 pitches this summer if you can't even lead an easy 5.5 slab. You're waaaay light. I'm not sure we can hang anymore..."
Wow. Is that route as much of a calf-burner as I've heard?
Congrats, guys! Great photo.
That fixed cord is a much nicer piece than the worn hunk of tat that was there when I lead it. Nice shot.
Cool! Nice shot. There's a lot of joy in taking the lil ones climbing, isn't there?
RE: placement of camming device -- that's exactly where you'd want it on most Sedona routes. See the fractured pod below it? I'd venture to say it became a pod because someone had blown a cam placement at that spot on a prior ascent. The rock quality varies wildly and it's not uncommon to rip a placement because it was too close to the edge. Nice photo, BTW.
What are you doing to that sheep?!
I remember when you didn't even HAVE a bag marked "aid." Is that a ledge or a hotel balcony? Can't wait to see more of your photos from this climb.
You had some make-up in the haul bag, didn't you? ;-P Beautiful shot, m'lady.
You absolutely fuckin rock, Kate. There are a handful of climbers in the world who have a photo like that one, from that perspective, after a solo of Mescalito. The number of women who have the same photo damn well may be zero.
Great lookin pooch. I'm sure she led a rich life hanging out on adventures with you.
Nice shot! But the last thing we need to see are the curves and contours of the male physique highlighted by tight fitting spandex. The next shot I see of some dude in lycra/spandex and I will be forced to deploy counter measures. Congress will readily pass legislation to ban male use of spandex after I slam my body into a pair of itty-bitty shorts. Other than that -- great looking climb.
It's an alternate start to the Prow. I'm ashamed to say I aided it instead of free'd it.
No aiders yet. I want all the tough aid pitches. I'm bringing her along as my rope gun for the tough 5.4 mandatory free sections. ;-)
I'll cancel that out with my 10. How anyone manages to free that kind of off-fingers stuff amazes me, and you captured the essence of the struggle. Great shot. That's strictly a C1 aid climb for me. ;-)
Hil -- thanks. I just don't have any other words right now. She sure loooooved that bacon grease, though.
I look much worse than that off the couch...right now, in fact. ;-) Hope to see you there, Kate! (6/13/05).
Phoenix passed away on 6/9/2005 after a short battle with cancer. I miss her more than I can possibly describe and I look forward to seeing her again at Rainbow Bridge.
Where are you going to fill up on road trips?
How much did that conversion cost you, and did you do it yourself?
There is no place safe from that nose and the tongue, as you found out. Typical adolescent boy. ;-)
I apologize in advance to anyone who crosses paths with us at the crag. He still in training.
And he's a ninny, too! Damn tender-foot -- couldn't get him to negotiate any of the bushwack on his own. I sure hope that's just drool hanging from his chin. The two of them disappeared for a little while, and I know Alex brought the peanut butter lipstick...
Yeah, copyright laws suck. You need a hug?
And where can we find the rest? The tats are way sexy.
Now that's quite a picture. Phil, that's the best I've ever seen you look...and that ain't sayin' much.
Excellent shot, Hil. So you finally got to hang with the notorious Elvislegs, huh? Cool. Hope you had a good time while visiting, Sean.
That's a great shot, but you've gotta tell us where it's located.
Wow -- that's some serious mileage for one day. Nice effort. Great shot.
At least he's not climbing in those foul 5.10 Huecos. ;-) Nice send, bro!!
Mortals. Mere "mortals". Nice shot, though.
That looks a whole lot like the start to the 2nd pitch of Zodiac! I had to do a double-take. Beautiful photo.
"That description is one way to generate interest for an otherwise average photo..."
You know, that's funny, doodle -- there doesn't seem to be any interest in your photos at all.
Doood -- outstanding. That could be a cover shot on some magazine. Beautiful.
I'm having Dawn of the Dead flashbacks.
Hillary -- I think you may have some competition. That's a mighty fine backyard. Thank you. No...really. Thank you.
Gawd, that's h-h-hot. For an albino. ;-)
Beautiful shot. How'd you get so far out from the wall to get that perspective? I remember the approach to the ledge being pretty tight to the wall -- it looks like you took the shot in thin air. I actually took a short fall on my first trip across. The rope for the traverse caught me as my feet touched down on a small ledge. One of the scariest moments of my life.
She was found about a week later. She had been buried in an avalanche not far from camp. Hard to believe this has been almost seven years ago. Wow.
