oh well you wouldn't even think of placing pro behind this flake... its only about an inch thik and sounds pretty strange. but it's big fun anyways...
jep, it's the aztar.
yeah! balmchopf is the best....
haha. ouh isn't that dellochef? ;)
It ain't that bad... This picture was taken at 12mm and therefore it looks like he was way above the ground. It's only about 20 feet. And by the way it was a 22cm screw.
hope you know the way down...
oh yes she's definitely cute...! oh by the way it's dellochef. and she's a he....
good one! I got this lens to. it's great for this style of climbing pics!
What polariser do you use?
very nice picture. I like the composition but would like to see a bit more contrast. maybe shallower DOF? but still very good shot!
nice pic, jägermeister! cu on the ice
well it looks like... but it was hollow... only about 25cm of ice... but still, great fun
no bloody way!! this rock is not climbable. it's about the worst kind of conglomerate I've ever seen. but the ice is quite good!
looks thin!!! what is the third tool for???
Why would you really want to shoot such a wide angle at 2.8?
very good shot! would be even a bit better if the background was a bit more blurred to highlight the climber a bit more
excellent!! haven't seen such a good bouldering pic for a while!
What's the sweet new lens?
I love that tower! It's in the top ten of my list of things to do before I die....
beautiful crack! gotta go there!!!
fisheye? great perspective
thanx a lot! I'm not gonna touch any plastic holds for at least 6 months!! BJ is also waiting! who are you?
11B?!?! It's a f*'in overhang! when lowering off you get to the ground about 10 meters away from the start! It's a beautiful line! one of the most perfect edges I've ever seen. unfortunately it's waaays to hard for me...
Thanks a lot for the positive comments! It was a awesome photoshooting and by now the muscle ache from handling the heavy 70-200 2.8 is gone! ;) happy shooting to all
nüt isch dreit! das isch eifach diräkt vo obe gfötelet. wie söt de express suscht usgseh... ;) cu
good shot! like your new toy? can't wait to get one myself!
is it just my screen or is it underexposed? try to shop it a bit...
ja er hat sie durchgezogen!!
good timing! like this one better than the other
good timing! like this one better than the other
that's what ice climbing all is about!!! having fun even if it's the hardest business on earth!!! you got it right man!
aaah quarks i love them! can't wait till winter's back!!!!
what's wrong with the draw it's just extended ...?!
to rain harder? hmmm it don't think that helps a lot ;)
well for my part I hope the rain is going to stop for the next days! cause I have 3 days off from work... whhhheeeehaaa!
he defenitly is amazing! that remembers me all the time to never let you get down by anything! Just smile and go on!!!!
that's what climbing all is about!
and now some king crimson sound..... truly psycodelic! like it
I was trying to get a compromise of sharpness and separating the climber from the background. The 50mm 1.8 is not that sharp under 2.8..... Best would have been to use the 70-200 at 200mm 2.8 to get narrower DOF...
Bokeh describes how the out of focus areas of the image look. Wide angle lenses usually produce ugly bokeh and a good tele gives that creamy plesant look.
can't wait for my two months trip to South Africa!!!!!!!!! only 4 more months to work......
jep he did it!
excellent! extremly warm light! did you use a warming filter too?
far out! diapers would be great for alpine climbs with serious runouts ;)
By the way Dominic states that thights would be perfect for squeezing the edge to get additonal grip...
better than nothing....
Thank you all for the comments!!! That's a motivation to haul the camera up every wall I climb!
here you'll find a high resolution file of the picture.
yep seems to be... but hauling two single ropes up a wall would suck big time!
Very nice! like the DOF and composition
hmmm, ok... but this sure doesn't hurt the biner! the edgeds of a bolt are much sharper.
But you're right, a long draw or long sling with biners would be ideal!
What's wrong with linking two quick draws together? I do that pretty often to avoid rope drag...
The first one is really bad! i once pulld out a Longlife bolt by hand..... I don't trust them anymore!
jep I think the one way in the back is Jorasses gotta love the mountains there.
darn sexy outfit! LOL
alibi screw! gotta love them!
far out! haha
what am I doing here in Switzerland! gotta get over to California for some REAL crack climbing without those damn bolts!!! arrrrg! that pitch looks soooo awesome!
No X-Rating... It's not that bad. If the belayer pays attention, you wouldn't hit the ground. But I almost filled my pants anyways! This was my first pitch in South Africa ;)
thanx for hauling that lens up there! I know very well how hevy it is.... ;)
totally wicked crack! i wonna go!
stunning! though it looked even more dramatic on the slide! keep'em comming dellochef!
now that's some mountain!!!!
very good picture! But the climber is a bit to much in the middle of the frame.... 1/3 of rock, 2/3 of sky would look better in my opinion.
Thats not the belayer. It's just another climber in the route to his left.
But he's going to lift his belayer. dominic is 30 kg heavier than sam....
What does that mean??
what's the point of this picture?
Awesome gully! wonna be there!
Stunning! Great job!
I like the extremly hard contrast of the light!
Dominic installed that chain of draws for me. The crux moves have to be climbed obligatory because they are bewtween the bolts. Without that chain I would not have gotten up there ;)
indeed i almost filled my pants leading that pitch....
great shot! I prefer a nr. 1 Camalot to an ice screw...
I like the fisheye effect. the light could be better.... but I know, it's always the same. When you go out to shoot the light is never perfect...;)
Very nice! let's bend the rules! it doesn't always have to be the rule of thirds.. I like the composition...
Beautiful! Now that's a sunrise..
excellent composition and colour...
haha you're right! I find it strange that you can rate your own pix. I couldn't resist...
Very clear and crisp. I like it...
terrific line! wonna go climb that crack right now!
awesome scenery! good composition but I'm sure this wasn't the climbers most interesting position you captured...
I like how the belayer stands out of the dark! otherwise, the shot could have a bit more action. all in all a very nice shot! cheers fabe
One of the best shots on this site! awesome angle.
Excellent composition and colour!
Trust me, squirells do not taste any good.... tried it an will never do it again...
Yeah! only two more weeks an I'm there! 6 weeks non stop trad climbing....
yes it was taken from the downclimb at 12mm wide angle
I love this knot! Learn it at the mountain guide courses. for some uses the best knot ever!!!!
