Re: the mini-14: When climbing is outlawed, only outlaws will climb :p

Because then you wouldn't be able to do it 'off the couch' :P

3 out of 5 stars I've lost 14lbs since that pic was taken. Since I've been home: bouldering every other day, with rest days at the gym in between. Not to mention the kick ass right-coast humidity. Gimme another 10lbs lost and I'll get a nice pic up =p

5 out of 5 stars Scan quality is a little blah, but I really like the composition! Great shot.

Hehe, look at how white and clean the rubber on those ascents are still :p

is this yadi from The Rock Gym?

very rad photo, love the reflection.

Oh how easily they fall from grace...

Hmm, funny that you commented on another Easy Chair photo that you found it easier to campus... easier to not send I guess ;)

Nice belay technique.

"How do you take a 60 footer at a crag that looks to be shorter than 60 feet and generously bolted?" I'm still waiting on an answer to that one...

You can see the TR on a diagonal near the corner of the lighter grey wall just behind the climber.

5 out of 5 stars I almost never rate photos but this one is great! Brilliant perspective.

4 out of 5 stars Really nice shot. Beautiful climb too.

4 out of 5 stars Nice. I like the composition.

This seems to basically be a zoomed version of the other (also sideways) shot you've posted. I'd recommend using any photo editor to rotate them to the right angle, it kind of just looks odd from this one.

Topout looks a little rough.

You stopping to light up a Backwoods? :p

heh, I was just discussing this girl with a friend of mine who was visiting from the Hammer this past weekend.... I remember seeing Antonia at Gravity all the time while working.

Either that or it's a comment on the VW Vanagon :p

theturtle: have you maybe thought about disabling the vote option for your photos?

With some shoulders, a head and the other ski sticking up off the top of a pack that could be a K2 ad.

It looks odd... like a photoshop composition. The foreground seems completely different from the background.

Love the Ed Grimly hair.

View this Photo
Technically: washed out in the background and the boulder/climber could be a little crisper. The colour saturation just isn't here either. Fairly good composition although the chalked holds to the left are a bit distracting.
Just noticed that the perspective seems a little skewed.. all the trees in the background are leaning right... as though you used the climber to level the shot and forgot about the background.

Good overall though.

Doesn't feel easy to me ;)

Good thing that sweater was there to protect the rear entry of the boulder under the climber's butt ;)

Pretentious and self indulgent.

There's nothing pretentious or self indulgent about this shot. I do love your typical sport climbing shots though. Very original with that same angle shot down from the next line over. Which mag did you read that technique in?

Are you just suggesting to flip it over? My brother has been doing that for several years now.

4 out of 5 stars Nice shooting by Fras.. guess the new camera is working out nicely then, huh? Congrats on Anubis later that day too!

Don't ask me how... but I thought I was on Roadside Attraction when I did this several years ago :p

4 out of 5 stars I think it's a rad viewpoint.

Nice shot... would like to see higher res image.

4 out of 5 stars Nice shot.

Nice color. I'm not overly keen on the framing but I'd like to see a bigger version of this shot.

2 out of 5 stars I don't know that this was worth showing three images pasted together... they all look too similar.

4 out of 5 stars Great shot. Not every photo has to be of a sick-hard move or climb and this is a good example... although it could do without those shoes on the boulder in the background.

View this Photo
0 out of 5 stars Uh... I don't get it.

View this Photo
That's a really odd background... I'm assuming that it's a slope but it makes it look like you've tilted the camera.

3 out of 5 stars Nice motion in the rope.

Black and white works well here... I like it.

I think chimp-chimp was referring to the fact that it's a low-resolution scan.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Really like the background, don't know that I'm keen on the sillhouette though.

View this Photo
3 out of 5 stars Meh. It's kind of flat and one dimensional.

View this Photo
The cropping at the head isn't bad, but the chopping off at the knee doesn't work. It looks like this is a World Strongman competition and he's trying to lift that boulder rather than climb it.

Optimal temps brah (and I mean that literally). Shots Fired, yes?

This line looks really nice but I haven't been back to the Red since I've had the ability to actually give it a decent try.

This is definitely "Any Rock'll Do" and it goes at V1.

Nice shot... makes the problem look like it's 12ft off the deck! (which it's not :p )

5 out of 5 stars Unlike caughtinside, I am impressed with this shot. While not a subject matter that would necessarily appeal to everyone, the composition and exposure is damn near perfect. Beautiful shot.
