Tropical it wasn't. I had 4 layers on and a soft shell wind stopper! I even wore a beanie under my helmet. I was COLD! EPC rules!

I love this climb! BTW, we were there last weekend and our rope got stuck at this rappel. We used the static line to retrieve it from the "canyon" between the fins

The guy in the yellow is a spotter. I am wearing a harness for safety.

I love the texture and color of the ice. It looks like plastic.

"lol... an awkward landing at that height would hurt"
Funny, I was at summersville a few weeks ago, jumped off a 20 footer. My leg twisted awkwardly when I hit the water. Suffered a severe groin strain and had to flag down a boat to get out . (I couldn't walk at all). I can't imagine what 65 feet would feel like.

Nice neo-vintage feel

That is a great climb...nice committing layback. when did you do it? November? what was the temp?

View this Photo
When I lead shockley's it will be vulgarian style as well. Who knows, maybe even this year! What time of day did you do it? During the week? weekend?

This is a horrible climb. One of the worst Birdsboro has to offer.

It's my project for August. Great climb!

Way too early to tell. I had the surgery 7 days ago and I am still in a reasonable amount of pain and pretty immobile. Will let you know! (I can tell you this...make sure you pain is pretty bad before you go through this surgery. This has not been easy.)

Kurt of Kimmy and Kurt? Wow, that's a hell of a lead!

View this Photo
No, it's all good now! I have my two feet back and now I just have to let the bones heal. I try climbing 1x per week and it's too painful. So, for now, I am at the personal trainer trying to improve my core and leg strength.

My darling husband ruptured almost every ligament/tendon in his wrist. The surgeon removed one bone, wired a bunch of other bones together and grafted some bone. He gets a cast this week and will be in it for four weeks.

I can't imagine a run out 5.11 slab climb! I just did my first slab climbing this past weekend in Squamish and I was sketched on a 5.7 unprotected slab!

View this Photo
(that's four bolts in 40 feet)

View this Photo
There are 4 bolts on a 5.4 slab. Easy Peasy.

It's set up to do it in 5 pitches, to reduce rope drag. I did it in 3 or 4, I don't remember. The last pitch is a long ridge walk, hence the alpine feel. I only found one section on one pitch highly polished. The rest was pure climbing pleasure. Lots of fun.

View this Photo
The climbing was very mild, even through the roof. Very fun climbing.

View this Photo
climbing was moderate, but, super fun.
