That totally relates to climbing. Anyone who has climbed Devil's Lake and parks in the CCC knows what a good feeling it is to see that.
look at the angle the shadows are leading away from the people, then look at the angle the shadow comes off the cliff on the other side of the picture. it was definately faked, unless there was some messed up refraction of the sun off of some giant abnormality in the earths atmosphere...
Yea prezwoodz, its called 'depth of field' people that know how to take pictures use it to add depth to a photo.
hey phil, nice dorm room man.
got enough people there?
great composition. its a shame the subject wasnt in focus...
it makes my eyes hurt. lol. damn shallow focus though
if it wasnt for the red hat he would be perfectly camoflaged! looks like it was a beautiful day.
looks more like your camera didnt advance fully, not really a double exposure
some motion blur on the jets would have made this shot a little more believable... unless there is some like iso 12000 film that no one knows about and you had a shutter speed of 1/1,000,000 sec.
damn those axes are sunk!
oh wait, there's that possiblity of losing a finger... almost missed it
I see no problem.
damn! if only voting was allowed so i could give that a ten!
wheres the rope?
go to the light...
i really dont get it
Did you get any shots of him when he did it with no crampons and no tools? THAT was impressive!
looks like you found one of those infamous 'crimperslopermonopockets' ;)
awsome. looks real enough to me, the shadows line up, which is hard to fake and easy to spot...
not too often you see a fall captured perfectly...
if the rainbow didn't dissapear into her head, i would say that this would be the best artistic shot i have seen on this site. 9.99999
i wish i were there...
this shot doesnt seem to match up with the others you submitted... whats with the text in the corner, do you actually own the copyright?
doesnt look nearly as natural as your other one. still pretty fun though
how many pictures of rapping off el cap can one climber post on the web? the world may never know, but we now have a new fore runner for the record...
can we say over-extension?
d@mn cold! another good one. gotta love the reflection on the laminate and all the attention to detail!
climber is out of focus, legs cut off. can't tell what he is doing. is he: falling? lowering off toprope? hangdogging? pretending the ice is a popsicle?
looks a little like some shop blur. if he was really falling there wouldn't be blur of the climber below him, only in front... pretty nice though
LOL, I look WAYYYY to intense for that climb. Nice shot. ;)
Glad you got the pic, he was such a cute little guy!
how is it the first ascent if it is bolted and retroclipped? did you bolt and clip draws on rappel?
is the non-flexer taking a piss?
badass. I am jelous
i was really really high up. i didnt want to fall and hurt myself. (note sarcasm)
the water is perfect, the climb is perfect, the lighting is perfect, the composition is perfect. i think that adds up to a 10
looks like she is trying to find a way to get a back-scratch from that cactus...
After like 15 feet we got sorta sketched and downclimbed... no pro on the telephone pole, ya know
The candian po-lice must be a little more lax than those on the UW campus... I can't even get 10 minutes of uninterrupted buildering in anymore
haha, yea the chalkbag. i'm gonna start using that one...
resubmitted with corrected horizon... i can't believe i didnt notice that, thanks trenchdigger.
and to answer the other questions, that was about 3 oclock on dec 22-- just long enough after my last finals for me to bike home, grab my gear, and get back...
too bad natural selection doesn't work in the gym...
hot! i wish i lived somewhere that a boat was required protection for a route...
perfect. ten all the way
the skull face is uber creepy... love the hand though. it'd be cool to see that up the whole arm
you're very lucky to have someone you didnt even know shooting at that sweet angle and getting the photos to you. <insert jelousy here>
TEN TEN TEN TEN!
nice reach. don't fall on the grill...
look at him kiss his forearm
best shot i have seen in a long time! (and i normally hate bouldering pictures...)
WI three my ass. from that shot it looks 4+ sweet route though!
chris, you put in way too much gear. i expect 30 foot runs and constant groundfall potential from you...
looked like a tiny aid seam until i scrolled down and saw the climber! powerful man.
actually, when chris is on anything less than 5.11, he only brings the rope to get back down. (dude doesnt get jokes ^^^^^)
one sock AND a sweet part. 9 just for that...
that almost makes me wish it wasnt ice season.... almost
at first i was thinking, another bouldering shot, whoop-a-dee-do. then i noticed that it was a balls out redpoint. nice shot
schweeeet. i love spires, must get to utah
11a trad! damn Rach!
an alpine rack AND skis on your back. you rock my world.
tape for a boulder problem? suck it up for 5 feet...
you need 'big jugs' to climb there?
very nice, cropped a little lower it would be a solid 10
i dunno man, i didnt blur the rock.... seems pretty clear to me. whatev
short and SWEEEEEEET
has anyone put up a direct route taking the cracks and flakes???
haha mee tooooo ^^^ i was like, what a stupid fvcking boulder shot, how did that make the frontpage? then i saw the climbers. rock on! nice perspective
hot hot hot!
i'm not even mad. that's amazing.
love the lighting colors and the movement of the biker and climber. 10.
that'll get the balls sweaty. fuckin hot
nice shot. looks like a burly first lead
i can feel the excitement. 10.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeee (testicles in throat). 11.365
is that the police station?!?
perfect except for all the pixilation on the bottom (would be nice if hte hand/foot weren't washed out too) 10's all around if that gets fixed
nope, i'm pretty sure the line that you are on is indeed a 5.9
perfect climb, perfect summit, perfect shot(s). i can almost hear the random mexican tunes coming from the road...
10 for the super description
rotate it so its vertical... then get your 10
damn, where's his last bolt?
damnit your shots are all too good!
well, you sure must do lots of trad climbing there curtis. that is a pile of webbing and biners used to set the TOPROPE i was ice climbing on outside earlier that day. it was drying out, retard.
what scares me is how shiny that beiner is!
are you clipped into that bolt with a quicklink??!
oooh a bigwall lady
i didnt know that harry potter climbed!
i'm embarrassed for you
great action and intensity on the climber's face. if the color intensity of the photo matched, it would be a 10...
if he is soloing, it would be a shallow, churning-water solo. kind of like regular soloing, but with a more complicated body recovery...
if it wasnt so damn blurry this could get my hands sweating. please please please resubmit it!
perfect! resubmit it with less compressioN!
10!!!!! especially because she's wearing a helmet
now i REALLY want to go to oz. people even wear helmets there...
love the curves and color of the rock
10. and dont whip
absolutely perfect shot, even though the nut is obviously too large... all the '10s' i can give you (which happens to be one)
