yeah gym shots are lame, but I've worked at bunch of gyms (this being one of them) and it's one of nicest gyms i've seen. Pea gravel aside.

That being said. Why is a gym shot the featured photo?

I LOVE this pic!

There's nothing racist about berkly switching his l's and r's. Tasteless maybe, but not racist. I teach Engrish in Busan and the l's and r's are a common problem. It's just an understood part of the language learning process. And believe me I get my fair share of giggles for my Korean pronunciation.

Unfortunately that pic is common place here. I decked from almost 10 meters here in Korea few years ago, and the belayers excuse was that I shouldn't have fallen on 5.10 moves after the 12.b crux! Hell, I've been know fall on the approach!

Seoul does have some great trad, bouldering and sport, it's just too bad the air is bad there sometimes. The sky looks so blue in this shot it's almost like you're out of city. I'm guessing it wasn't a yellow dust day.

every beginning climbing photographer works on getting great facial expression in the pic. this one works without it. great composition and colors.

it's been over a year since this pic was taken, and the Korean bouldering scene is on the verge of exploding. i'm not going to add any more pics to this site, but start checking your climbing mags... it won't be long.

side note... new bouldering areas are NO LONGER being posted on koreaontherocks.com to find the dope spots, you will need to ask around or wait a year or two for the guide.

ok, after more than a year of development the first places that we were once stoked about seem like trash (this pic for example). give it a little time and you will hear about south korean bouldering in the mags. it's going to be good. not hueco, or rocklands, but still damn good.
