I met ellen at ceuse - and then her husband at maple - random - anyway, does this wall get direct light? maybe you could get above a climber and get them coming out of the depression...good pic anyway though -
Jorg - is this the night I ripped your tent with those pallets??? Sorry dude! hope you're having more good times like these right now -
among other things, i like the shadow on the rock directly below him - good one jorg - when's your next trip to the states?
i like how the wash around the outside of the picture focuse attention on the area more immediate to the climber
such a sweet cave!
no climbing...this belongs in artistic...
artsy, i like it - but not quite climbing artsy in my mind - not enough climbing action...
i think it'd be better if the rope wasn't so distracting - but it's still pretty kool
wish i could see his face
it's all good -
cool looking place
blends in too much
did you pull on the tree??? it's a good hold!
it's definetly an amazing pitch -
committing on your feet huh!
safety line? what a wuss! - right, sweet scene
- don't know exactly what it is, but its just how i picture it...great picture
nice, it'd be better if the climber stood out a little more
is that keith??? I met him in Spain...tell him i said what up
Boux is nuts, a sea of pockets - good picture
it's sweet when you look over and see this wave of granite diving down...i miss tuolomne...
that looks kool
wish she was leading...
i want one
awesome picture - awesome place
all of the above...
note to self: don't self proclaim my own pictures to be awesome...but good pic anyway
woah, krazy - 15a!
that's a sweet shot
looks kool but he's blending into the rock...
ahhh! ewww! F*KKIN GROSS AGAIN! i had to look twice -
rendog - perfect
kool tree behind
yeah, how'd the trees come out like that? what time of day is it? i like it
be smart people
good - but beware of the buttshot
is that an incredible beer gut or just funky shadowing?
no spotter? that's balls out
i was there that day - that guy is sneakin up from below
agreed with the above comment - expression might add to this
what program did you use for this?
good, but i'm wanting the person to be a little more noticeable -
good scene - (notice far right) - what about that guy?
good - interesting
is there one with her higher up on the problem...freaking out? i see potential
how the hell am I supossed to study now -
on a summer day - it's way quicker to run down outside of the cables.
musta been a good feeling
dreamy - are there more?
did you land it back onto the slackline?
neat how the sequence/framing draws you closer to the effort
No comment left
yeah, how does it look with the nose cut a bit?
climbing in england looks stupid scary - good pic though
very kool -
good shot, I've seen a more interesting tree before though -
rad area - tough to get good light?
it's been a while - sweet routes on that wall
when's a good season there? looks rad
i don't usually vote on anything ice or mountaineering but this shot is pretty kool - kinda creepy...there's a better word for it though
yeah, great contrast
can't see enough of the climber - although some beholders might see the beauty in the grafitti, i think it's ugly
too much light in the background
that's kool - i like how it works without too much happening
I like the composition - the focus and the look of the subject is great,
but I personally can't stand that banana bag -
I'm so confused
I like it - I'm wondering what it looks like with more of him in the frame -
I'm waiting to see his face and get an expression - angle?
washed out back there
real climbing is the best
i like it
if this is real, awesome - if not, humorous
yeah, i'm still wanting to see what else is going on with your movement -
late season - still looks cold
i like the idea - i'd like to see the sun highlighting his face, and/or his foot unobstructed by the draw/rope since that is where his focus leads to
i'm trying not to believe the orientation, it's working -
point kalcario for recognizing the relationship between the amount of gear on a harness and how rad the climber in that harness is...
what scale does that comparison come from?
you got me with this one - great shot
that looks like fun
kool shot - can you lighten his face at all?
can i get a picture of this guy throwing a heel hook please
ahh! what's wrong with his hip?
hope he doesn't pull down the wall
great expression, good composition
dumbest ever???...how'd you lose that leg again?
a little bright on the hand and dark on the leg
to me, the position of the climber resembles the structure of the rock - good shot - but does he have socks on??? ha -
definitely a photogenic problem- Jorg took a good shot of this route from across the canyon a while back -this one is really good too -
why'd you choose to crop it this way?
there's a lot of distraccting crap underneath him -
point BVB, but it's still a distraction to the otherwise good picture
no dude, they're called bottles and cans and plastic bags
i like the look - I think people tend to automatically discard anything like this but I think it can look rad when it's not a ridiculous contrast of BW to the colors - like here - I've done something similar with one
it's that car from that commercial! the stories are true -
what's this throw all about?
he looks like he's gunn'n for it pretty far -
there's potential for this picture/scene - didn't quite get there though IMO -
maybe a 73 degree turn would be best. to the side.
dude, you know how they are - and you're right, this definetly deserves a 5 ...joking, much better than that - interesting moment of focus, kind of spans across the picture - and good looking colors in terms of rock and climber -
yup, great scene- wish you'd get rid of the ad at the bottom - leave it in the description
wow, does that climb get it's name from that lightning bolt on the rock???
cut your hair Kenny - you hippie.
looks rad -
Yeah - Bishop is awesome huh -
too bad the climber didn't come out as nice as the colors on that rock (right)
good moment Jorg
what about that guy!
area- good stuff.
cool wispy coulds
first thing i thought kungfu
hot water kills
seriously? what comes next?
without the heel hook it might be harder to find those feet below...
yeah, the first thing I do on a climb I can walk off after I solo is wear a pack.
but you wish he was nekked
a great shot
the light on the main rock seems intense - ?
woah - pad pad hat. or, hat pad pad.
looks like a cool problem though
looks hard - and with tennis shoes! this guy is incredible.
I second elvislegs
everything's good, but I sense the 'posing'
and all while spinning
slab falls suck.
nice one matt
unique - good shot
did you just get lucky with the blur running into the rock streaks so well or did you see it first (it even changes direction as the rock does!)? -
sweet shot dude
movement of the hair makes the shot
anyone know of areas that are sometimes colored like this out west?
way to keep at it!
but is that metal? how does it treat the crack?
cool framing with the focus
Becky - hurry up and knit me some underwear.
good intense shot
that's pretty cool
this picture stood out immediately to me - I think it's an awesome shot
I get more out of the ad from this one
Made this one look pretty sweet
I agree - good sense of scene in this shot - anything in the area a little higher off the ground?
yanking on the rope for good measure I suppose -
i like it
needs a bright outfit
black shirt black hair - where'd his head go?
it almost looks like he's laying down -
when in doubt - just throw.
yeah - re-submit with more color
colors - skin, rock & stripe - caught my attention
you found the best angle for this shot
blue eyes shining through - offset angle is cool
p.s. I like the style you've picked up with the web-ad -
how'd it look below the crack?
I like it as it is better than rotated (unnatural) - nice shot - what the heck is he tossing to???
the photoshop idea works well - cool shot
better without the anchor anyway.
apparently it wasn't originally named "the cube"
sweet shot - bright on the skin?
it's all limestone at the Hood - as is, it goes at 14a - so I wouldn't say it's easy.
I would like to see a little more of Los, but it's a cool shot nonetheless
Thanks - I was behind the lense. But yeah, it's a good warm-up if you can keep your heel on.
cool shot -
what's causing the distortion?
i edited it to note where not to start a campfire.
I like it, great colors, but a little too cropped?
yeah, really good.
thanks. yeah that's her name. Out of Arizona. I expect she's in the new kids of climbing calendar.
a little dark - I lost a bit in the compression too.
she's facing generally west (where the sun is setting) - the sun's light is hitting other formations behind her which is then reflecting onto the rock outside of the cave - inside the cave isn't getting as much fill light, and, below her, the forest has blocked most of the same light from hitting the base of the wall.
re: carabiner - I'm assuming you're referring to the white spot - actually, that's a large cobble with a lot of chalk on it - looks slightly distorted because of the compression - but (as I just checked) it is clear in the original photo.
it's what he told me.
Wilder is rad.
I like how the brightness below is actually working for this shot
really cool light
that looks rad - good (choice of?) colors
if by "real" you mean glass, then no -
thanks for the input though, looking at it now I agree -
wow, all kinds of shit going on here. really cool
great climb- better as one pitch
yeah, really cool looking
cool looking shot -
how sharp is he w/o the compression?
I like it - but it might be better cropped (the background in the bottom half is much nicer than the top)
cool rock coloring
I second sungam
wow - there was a pad there??? nice on that too -
while you're passing em out...send some my way.
weird - cool
aren't there better uses for that?
looks pretty sweet
he's orange. does he fake-n-bake?
the stars are for the cool scene and the daydreaming that this shot provoked.
your sisters are hot!
I second Pyrosis
I'd like to see some feet
this is rad
the foot bothers me too
I like this angle better - you gain more from the feet - good idea with the flash on this scene
the shape of the rock is cool
I think it'll be good to keep pushing this kind of shot
where in Tahoe?
the tree's just chillin
it's the moon - he fell a couple moves higher, but he was looking really strong
that lense seems to be pretty sweet
What are you're going for here?
this picture...??? seriously?
just my hands and feet, and you have to down-climb. Scariest part was stopping half-way up when the maintenance truck drove past and parked right there. All the sudden I had to stop and think about things other than moving.
crazy how he's holding himself in with one foot
He got on it once, fell - ticked a lock, rapped down and then sent it next go. Maybe you don't like ticking, but sending that crack on a second go is *not* lame.
makes that move look huge - still another hard move to come...it seems to me like most shots at Joe's are better warm
The two pieces of rock are actually a lot different -
I'll give you 5 stars just for giving yourself 5 stars.
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand your title.
I like the perspective as it is - but a bit brighter on the climber could be a good idea - nice shot
classic movie - nice shot
(in response to james) - he does get kind of lost in the bushes below, so busy back there - if his hair had been in a patch of snow it might've almost looked like it's own bush...that might've worked better - those two fingers are also blown-out and neither of the feet quite made it -
caught me quickly
I like the thought - and camping in the kitchen is pretty hard core too.
looks good - maybe get rid of that extra rope
makes my hands sweat
way better than a shot of this climb in a recent ad I saw - this climb is easy though, I grey-point flashed it. Just sayin.
you should tag this with "mustache" too
the composition caught my eye - a bit more light on his face would be nice
how many boulders are in this area?
yeah, what a crappy intro
I'm into it
another form of meditation battles? I like this interesting shot -
looks recently familiar
cropped too tight beneath him - otherwise I like it
cool - too many sams though - and not enough top-outs
holy shit, OK has hills and shit?
I'm not one to go freeze myself, but this shot is cool
Cool how she comes out so crisp - also, this is a new look for you -
oh man, but even the thought of those desert star scenes...[drool]
no way - the hat sucks and she should be smacked for wearing it.
bolts are great - weather was way too hot in august though
whatever angle joe's talking about - it looks cool
way ahead of me this time on the mustache tag. awesome.
Definitely Yangshuo - clear day though
yeah, cool bizarre
Teamwork for real.
fuck the spotter.
