I have a shot of that problem as well (will try to get it up in my gallery). Was there in March of 06. Great problem, though its getting VERY polished. It's a popular one as it is fairly unique in style. V4

2 out of 5 stars Lighting looks very 'on camera' (distracting rope shadow). Try using two flashes next time. Flashes are not balanced to daylight. Also, flash is hot in front of the climber (climber underexposed). If you were to shoot this again, try metering to ambiant (so we can still see the background) and set your flashes at maybe +1 stop to get the climber to pop. Gelling the flashes would help with the balance. This spot has bags of potential (especially if it were a bluebird day).

Coastal Climber - it was in Feb of '06. Water was a bit on the chilly side - and it's quite swift (you can see the current). Half the fun of climbing this problem is swimming against the current to get back to the start!

Paynes is a GEM of a place. Loved the climbing and the people were great! Made some new friends that I will not be forgetting about any time soon.
