If he just managed to clip it, how did he clip the draw? .......what, you pre-placed the draws?!
Dig the fleece chalk bag!
Great photo, I like it more than the others. There's purpose evident there....focus....movement....and where she's headed. Cool pants....
Hey....he looks like that guy off the X-files.....and it looks like he's found something!
Looks like chocolate........mmmm
Pitty his face isn't in focus...... great movement though.
Mate......I really love this climb already! Great lead hey? Much pro?
mmmm...nice green water!
Although Australia is somehow portrayed mostly by pictures of Arapiles or Grampians!!! Nice pic orange-man!
Fingers are taped......smooth rock....what's to grimace about? Nice shot though
Is that a scar? from which war?
different from the other one???
Looks more like a scene from Tolkeins world. Awesome photo!!! Really is! Could almost be a cardboard cut-out......cos I like sillouettes- 10!
Reminds me of the museli bar I just ate.
Mate, that's a great moment! See, there ARE other reasons for climbing, not just to get to the top...... we'd climb up there too if our wallet was up there!
Really nice shot Phil! When did you take it?
is that a piece that has come out hanging there?
Really nice looking rock, awesome setting! Nice photo
The white 'choss' looks a little like ice..... or it's been hit by a HUGE wet chalk ball.....
bit dark, but really nice anyhow!
how do we know you're not looking like that too?
hey mate, nice picture..... good composition as it leads the eye.... not too warm though!
Definately one of your very best!
Damn bizzare dude!
now, that's a great shot!
That's an awesome picture!
Looks like he's inside an asteriod or something......which way to the ground? Awesome shot
I've seen this same shot earlier, without the grey background. It does make it look very surreal.....great......but 10? Dunno dude!
HOW GOOD IS THAT!!!! WOW! really puts you there!
Awesome Neil! Just Awesome!
yeah, it's one of the most pleasant lines in Squamish. Pitty it's not longer.
Mommy, I'm scared!
how many waves are there?
I think his hat is his balancing secret... like the shadow.
It's just another silhouette! Somehow the composition works though....
Ahhhhhh the world is being attacked!! Seriously though, that's an unbelievable photo. Good job!
I didn't know we had two suns!?
hey, I red tape my biners too! The background brings out the colour more.
Nice one mate! I thought 20 was 10c/d?
I bet at that stage, slipping in the comp was out of her mind, cos she was soaking up Smith Rocks! Nice story.
Almost too bright!....almost.
How may takes? For his sake I hope it was the first.
Awesome perspective using the rock veins. Great stuff Neil! Again!
Not often you get to pluck bananas from the tree rather than from your lunchbox when your out climbing.
They would need to be long to clip that draw from there. Good photo.
so.... can we ask about the pee hole..? please explain. Great shot by the way, I'd certainly like to be there.
Only one of my favorite climbs in the World! The piton was fine when I clipped it in 96 and fell off at the lip. It's positioned perfectly so you swing past the arete. These days I'd also back it up though (where he has is the best spot). The ball I'd say helps chopper and planes 'see' the lines. The horizontal break is a great spot for gear, but it increases rope drag severely when negotiating the upper headwall. Great action shot billy!
He he he. Pitty about the graffiti in the background. Looks like a great climb though....mmm...jamming. Keep it up!
Fair enough.... is that really the name of the climb? I love that movie!!! You've framed the shot nice...looks like it's ready for the wall. 8)
Yep, gotta agree! 10 for location, 10 for colour, 10 for composition and depth of field..... Great shot! Now you've made me consider booking a flight!
Always love your work Neil! Great stuff. Yep... consistently the best photographer IMO on this site.
you're really tweaking that little finger of yours.
Doesn't look like your hanging onto anything.... and your left hand just knows where to go, hey? Cool shot.
Not only am I amazed how red a pair of shoes can be, but I am humbled to the courage displayed by the clip skip AND how those jugs could keep their firm shape under such gravitational forces applied during intense competition..... I can't stop staring at the little black triangle!!
those bolts are 1 meter apart!
gotta love natural bonsai's! Nice pic. DOF is always important and used well here. Looks 'comfortable'.
Mommy, I'm scared! My pants are warm and gooey! Seriously, that is an awesome, surreal photo! Great stuff. Makes we want to climb it from as far away as possible without touching it!
that's seriously trusting your gear! He does look comfortable, and strong though.
what the x2?
Emergency number in Australia is 000..... amazing he reached anyone......
slip, slop, slap on a day like that! Great!
yeah, sacrifice some of those dark boulders for more SKY! Nice shot though.... very surreal.
....not quite....Mitre rock is missing....but great job anyway. Ah, Araps.....
You betcha I did! That place really is a fantastic climbing area. I was fortunate to have my draws preplaced on this one. Makes things quite a bit easier.
Thanks phreakdigital. I was hoping I had placed this photo correctly, since it was 7 years ago I was there. Yep, sure is some fine stuff around there. Heinous cling is still my hardest red point (1st pitch). This guy was really smooth on Darkness at Noon and got it second go.
Are you sure you're a beginner?
Neil, you never cease to amaze me. Perfect lighting. You picked a great time of day.
ooooo, if only the photo was a little more in focus, it would be a great shot.
I'm voting for the story not the photo..... funny!
you're crankin' girl!
Pretty sure you're right crackjammer. That's what I remember it to be.
Surely is! Carrots are fine, just makes it a little longer to clip in. Three movements- bracket, draw then rope.
....butts need to be kicked!.... it's the road to improvement....
I can believe it.............
Are you the most relaxed person in the universe?
I thought it was a hot air balloon at first glance.... looks a bit like red icebergs
nice shot dude..... I bet not many people on this site would know who Rex Hunt is either! ;)
It actually looks quite edible, despite what you all say...... mmmm, yummy!
you've got some serious muscles there, girl!
Great to see more of your stuff Marten...... 4 thumbs up from me.....
my friends chicken was named betty...... betty helmet....
Thanks you guys.... yeah, I actually only had about 3 minutes to set up the shot, because the wind was howling and forcing the clouds to engulf the sky.
Yes, this was me back in the 70's.... I did manage to get myself out though.... so the esteem definately increased once I was free!
...I'd like to see a series too... invisible man on location... It'd be hard to give him beta... 'er...right undercling.... you got it?... no... er.... crimp is a bit higher... now... er...it's not difficult!... stop looking at me like that!'
Fantastic photo! Talk about opportunistic.... well done!
Excellent depth of field and beautiful colour. Was it intended to be so dark or was that a side effect of the velvia?
....I think the word of the day is 'cute'....
This photo has surely been bombed! A little unfair, considering it deserves a much HIGHER rating.
....nice colours.... I see that "Fall" is kicking in.... is there any pro on this climb?
nice one ren! how many pitches after that? I've gotta get myself over there again! Damn that's awesome ice!
yeah, the next piece is desert.... rice puddin' :-)
OK...that does it!.... now you've made me drool all over the place.... Right!.... I'm all revved up for the northern ice season.
...pleeeeese, pleeeese, pleeeeeeeeeese HIGH RES. ren...... come on ren...... pleeeeeeeese!
looks like his head is missing.... great shot though... well composed
....wierd....looks like the inside of a stomach....
....don't you guys know JR is bionic.... that's his hydraulic chick magnet.... it repels bears and attracts girls.... imagine the chaos at the 3rd belay!!!!
....another reason to have kids.... great shot!
....gotta go.... gotta go.... gotta go....
Did you feel more confident since you had no clothes on? Nice pic....
....when you're finished you could always come and test out my equipment if you like....
....leg loops?.... what leg loops? All I see is a nice tusch ;-)
....nothing like seeing a pic of Point Perp.... one of the truly best climbing spots on earth! Love the colour mate!
you can really see how steep it is by looking at the angle of the draws hanging off the loops.... nice shot Lee!
....looks like Jaws (21).... nice reactions to get the shot!
....great, light-hearted feelings come from this picture.... it's awesome.... it reminds me of walking to the Malamute from the centre of Squamish....
....can't get much warmer than HOT....
....his shirt matches his car....
....if only that left tool was planted 1-2' higher, you'd look much more comfortable placing that screw.... nice picture though.... I'd give it 9 if it was cropped better....
....isn't it funny how such torture soon becomes so addictive you can't stop anymore....?
...how the heck did you get there to take the shot? Great photo.... though I agree with the rotation....
....works best when it's slower than 1/2 sec.... watch you don't over-expose though.... nice pic b.t.w.
....now only a 'n00b' like yourself, who relies on pictures like that, would make a stupid comment about something he hasn't even tried.... if you knew what you were talking about, unlike all of your arrogant anchor and safety comments, you would know a reverso used like this creates more friction....
....you know what, lightandfast? Give us more insight into your extensive knowledge about climbing, ESPECIALLY safety tips, like posting your own pictures, and I may think about backing down from the belief that you're an arrogant, bumblie tool with only negative things to say.... oh and by the way, those cams are BOMBER.... we rapped off them!! I would have repeatedly, ALL DAY LONG....
nicely done.... could do with the left half of the photo cropping out.... just for composition....
....have you guys been on this climb? ....from memory, I'm pretty sure the bottom bolt in that picture is the first bolt....
....nice.... that pulpmill across the sound is still pumping out gases.... nice climb.... nice shot.... very opportunistic.... peeled off the traverse, huh? Cool!
....pitty you couldn't get the climber higher up.... the composition would have been better.... nice though....
....ouch.... those socks! Almost looks like a pic from the 70's! Looks bold too....
...I would suggest cropping more of the top part out.... if you scroll down and view it with the rock taking up about a third of the photo it looks much better.... sacrifice rock and emphasise the mountains. The lighting on the climber is good.... I give it a 9....
Gotta love those undercover missions ;-) ....this pic always makes me smile....
....dunno.... you'll have to ask the gym where they got them....
....so what has been erased adjacent her right hand? The edge of her wrist is also blurry.
....sweet photo.... it's a pitty the rock in the surf is so bright.... a little distracting, however you need the ocean to help with the atmosphere....
....how adorable.... awesome idea....
....the photo could be cropped better, to get the climber out of the middle and the belayer out of the shot (he's not looking anyway, which is unnerving).... but the climbing itself will add to the rating I give....
great stuff Phil.... keep it up.... we wanna see more this Saturday!
I look nothing like that latin bozo....
....does it have a suit on, or is it shaved?
....what ....are ....you?
great depth J
Yeah, a bit like Yoda he looks.
....nice pic mate.... The Tasman is a great valley to be in, isn't it?
(jl)....Stop writing lame comments, n00b!
nice spotting.... cool rock though....
yeah, it almost looks like it has been painted on canvas.... great shot!
....and an awesome attempt it was too.... you cruised it!.... you go girl!
....thanks.... couldn't have done it without the model.... ;-)
....awesome view.... I'd go there with my girl too....
....looks a little bit nippy....
....done.... and done :-)
It'd be nice to know why this deserves a four or five? ....I'm not that ugly am I? ;-) ....please, criticism would be helpful, rather than an anonymous vote....
....where did it say anything about being a whipper or runout? I was merely describing why I was reaching so far.... but anyway, thanks....
....nice picture.... really captured the moment....
Thanks Jay... That was one of the only times she actually saw me climb, before she passed away 8 months later...:-(
No worries, yeah, the bolts are pretty close.... but the holds get small after this spot, which makes that the best place to clip from.... (the right hand is relatively good).... I'd normally move my waist to the clip before clipping. (The climb is about 10c/d)
dogs rool..... or is that drool? Looks like it's been playing around with the self-timer while you're not lookin'....
....are you in the navy?
....well, in trouble or not, we had fun.... a cop did drive by but luckily we weren't fooling around....
Yeah, she was awesome!! ....well, you might have to ask my girl about that last bit ;-) ....
Classic Phil! I wonder if you appear in the picture the other woman is in....
....now mr. gecko, if you could kindly pay for my airfare, we'd definately get a room.... until then ....I'm up for fooling around ;-)
....nah, sweetie.... people just don't know real talent when they see it! :)
Looks like days of fun on that boulder.
Yep.... all I had to do was batter my fists for a while while he filmed and photographed.... oh, and Phil.... isn't it "jamming"?
Yeah, fairly small hands.... but it's what you can do with them that counts.... ;-)
I'm not hairy, Phil! zozo, I have another picture from the outside http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=Show&PhotoID=54268 ....to kinda show the flake and how it sits. Phil was hiding in behind it..... and yes Jay, she has.... she loves my cams ;-) Cheeky girl!
Yet another great shot Neil.... awesome!
....I will never get sick of looking at this photo.... Awesome!!! I love the tilt of the horizon in the vizor reflection.... and don't get me started on those eyes....
....you know, 'rooflet'.... as in a small roof.... like piglet!
...me tarzan.... you jane?
Great to see some more Aussie stuff!
That's an awesome photo!
Yeah Phil, bring on the video of the jam.... it's awesome! :-) Can you link it somehow from another site?
....I can never understand what the feet are supposed to do on such splitter cracks.... that's insane.... awesome job.... 10 from me!
What's a "gobi"?
That looks like fun!
Looks like a sweet line.... good job....
Actually you'll notice from the photo category it's a trad route. The first "real" good piece of gear is at about 10m.... so Andy is putting in an RP here merely for comfort....
....posed gayness, huh jut? ....and <a href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=Show&PhotoID=21616">this</a> isn't?
....I'm in a good colour mood today.... I like it!
Great colours.... especially the creepers.
Love the colour of the rock.... pitty the sky lost it's blue.... well composed.
Very, very nice.... if you'd cropped the corner appearing at the bottom, I would have given it a 10!
Plenty of padding.... great shot.
Bigger would be better!
Looks like fun.... great lense too!
:-).... nah, despite the photo, she was infact on the ground. It slopes steeply down and around the corner. I am actually around 35 feet up from the base of the climb.
That's an awesome shot.... seems to be a b&w theme lately.... I like it!
Nice job...gotta love night ascents... never actually tried one that hard yet....
....trust me, those 'cracks' are far from protectable.... it's not even a crack, more like a seam....
Aren't you forgetting something? You've placed your gear, but you've left your rope in your pack!
perfect composition....awesome shot!
It may come off one day, but it's kinda wedged in there hard.... it won't move for hundreds of years, I reckon.
nice one BG
I reckon you should crop out the vegetation at the bottom.... it's distracting....
Great shot.... check the calves, man! Holy crap.... some serious body tension happenin' there.... pity you can't see more of his surroundings though.
....well, from the other photo, i wanted to see his surroundings.... and here it is... great to see you cropped out the left portion.... pitty I can't re-vote.... looks friggin' hard!
I had no idea my legs were so tiny!
Yeah, despite it's appearance and rock quality, you can't go past it's practicality. You can even climb all night if you want. Nice pic meltaxa!
Looks like it could bite....
I like this photo a lot.
Yeah, nomad.... it's considered a fish eye, I suppose.
Crop out most of the bottom dark stuff and it'll look 10 times better.... other than that, nice silhouette.
....pitty about that branch.... very nice photo though!
It's funny how the distortion visually warps the "squareness" of the photo itself.... awesome pic Phil! Great time of day to take it too. And yes Phil is now a master of his "tramway"....
Gotta love it Phil. A real balance of composition, perspective, colour, expression and hard climbing....
Finally see someone with my shoes....
It's actually one of the only bolted lines there. It's mainly a trad crag.
Phil loves his new lens ;-) Awesome shot Phil, keep 'em coming! Sensational climbing Lee.... what a great weekend it was!
Post the next shot in the sequence Phil.... the heel hook.... Awesome stuff!
If anyone needs to know, the blue rope is to clip once around the lip of the overhang, since rope drag is horrendous once past the lip. That's why there's heaps of slack in it. I am belaying him on the red to the lip of the HUGE overhang. I tell ya, it's an awesome spot to belay from.
....talk about trusting your placements.... he's got a fair flight ahead of him....
....looks like some ghost just took off with ya rope ;-) Bugger!
I doubt you're gonna be sliding off in a hurry down that slope.... looks like a nice day.
The road looks like a slot car track.... What an awesome looking climb!
Photo's a tiny bit big, but awesome shot!
Good photo.... but can gear go in that crack?
She's a cute puppy! What mix is she?
That's pretty close to perfect!!
Were the pyjamas part of the act? ;-)
Thanks.... I was fairly psyched after that one.... went on to do The Fang the same day.... must have been my cammo gaiters ;-)
Don't change it! It's great the way it is.
....it was such an enjoyable day of climbing in the dark continent.... perfect rock, perfect weather and of course, great company ;-)
Yeahhhh, good sh!t.... good to see some more winter stuff mixed in....
What's that on your back?
I really like this shot.... you've captured the action within the shade, without overexposing the sunlit background. Hard climbing too.
Looks like a heap of fun!
Good pic.... I would have gotten closer in on the trees to make them more of the subject....
You've done a great job on this one.... I rate it pretty high....The animals give it character....
Holy saturation Batman!
This is a great shot.... good composition....
It's obvious the photographer lead the pitch dude. Classic belayer shot. Nice pics!!
That's an awesome photo!! Well done....
It's not complicated at all. Phil can set this whole thing up and pull it all down in around half an hour. It just looks a little 'busy' with all the gear he has on him. He has a grigri to descend with. Ascenders to climb the abseil rope and a prussik from his harness to the pulley rope. That's all.
Looks like great gear and an awesome climb. I like the shot, because it captures the clip, which can sometimes be a struggle. There isn't enough pics of climbers clipping gear. It's something every leader does and should be photographed more. I think some people would have a problem with these type of photos because they can make the climbing look awkward.
That looks awesome! Is that really in the city?
ey james, nice try, are u serious? ....btw.... her skin is beautiful.... ;-)
Excellent photograph!! Quality stuff, dude.
I could cover my wall with this photo!! Great shot!!
One of the best shots I've seen on here.... the_alpine, you've taken some awesome photos lately!
Gotta love lenticular clouds! What was the weather like on the following days?
Holy fcuking factor 2 batman!
Those days were great with you, newbie ;-)
That's a great perspective!!
That looks friggin' hard! The rock looks actually quite good up close.
You've come a long way in one year.... and you're still crankin' girl! ;-)
I love shots like this one.... plenty to look at, but not busy. Great composition.... I really like your pics!
Fantastic mountaineering shot! Love the moon above the ridge.... my palms are sweating already.... I want to go there!!
....come and climb with me again, gorgeous....
That's fantastic!! Great job!!
I wouldn't say no to a rope.... Woahhhh!! Awesome stuff!!
He's a cute little tacker! Cool hair dude!
Great shot Jay. Can't wait to get on the rock over there. Looks like my kinda place....
LMAO!! I thought you might say sumpin' like that.... actually I climbed "Itchy" (two climbs to the right) first....
Cheeky!.... Well, I sometimes like to go by feel.... it's a great way to to stimulate the senses.... ;-)
Looks like fun.... good shot!
Lookin' hot! mmmm, yummm.... if you come back soon, Newbie, I'll give you your globe back....
Fan-fukkin-tastic! Love it!
Quit being an d!ck.... and I'm sure there are plenty of women who could whip your ass climber666madguy....
That's cool.... but you wouldn't get me in there....
All hail the red beenie wearer! ...nice shot, mate!
Phil, I don't think those buckles are doubled back.... looks unsafe to me ;-)
OMG, I gotta go there!! The rock looks immaculate!
What an awesome place! Is it predominantly crack climbing?
It's called FastSone Image Viewer.... free download.... nothing great, but it does the job.
Good on ya mate! Well done on 2nd place.
Music: Nah, he's using an ATC. Jay: Thanks mate. It's one fine route! James: what's wrong with the belayer? He's watching, holding the brake, is directly below the first piece (slightly to the side) AND wearing a helmet! Kid: You can't see it but I've placed a multi-directional first piece and a second below my feet. Dave: Your request will be soon granted ;-)
Thanks guys.... and Jay, before you come to Frog, I'll meet ya at The New!
Nice pic gecko.... very opportunistic!
Check out the tan.... mmmm.... gorgeous ;-)
Really nice shot.... the colours look awesome.... not distracting at all.... Front page material.... lets bump it up a little!
Nice.... I like the other one better though....
amazing.... your powers of observation astound me!
Not sure which boulder it's called. Can't find descriptions anywhere. It's the west side of one of the biggest ones as you approach Castle Crag. Araps bouldering is good fun, but tough on the hands after a while.
Love this photo! Awesome stuff!! Let's bump it up a bit.
....onsight....I have to add ;-)
Good job, yak! How long does it take for you to make a batch? Do you sell 'em?
That's funny.... I find I regularly under-estimate such descents to my girlfriend.... LMAO!.... now she always asks about the descent before we begin a climb....
I think it's a great shot. Good to see new ideas and variations on such. Keep 'em coming!
Translation please!.... I dare you to say it in English!
Nothing unpredictable about your style through that traverse though, Newbie....awesome.... and yes, the view was beautiful ;-)
Thanks guys.... Have another couple of shots, yeah. They'll be posted soon. It certainly is a fun route, although that day it was C...O...L...D....
That's a great idea OL. To me the border is a little distracting, especially with the straight edges. The bottom half of the photo is great, since you've covered them up. Nice job though!
That's an awesome photo!
Holy saturation batman! ....nice composition though....
Thanks for your input annonymous photo bombers....appreciate the feedback!
Love the shadow of the belayer....
That's a VERY good photo!
She's a tough, determined little cookie and bravely fired through some glass-edged crimpers to send this climb.... She made good work grating her finger tips, but nothing a little pampering with wine and gormet pizza couldn't fix ;-) I look after her.... always do.
Geez, I love this photo.... and that was an awesome day too!
Looks like beautiful rock! Great to see a helmet!
Great looking crag!
crazyscuba.... you want published quality? Log off and go buy a magazine!
Awesome shot! He matches the parked car.... Cool! ;-) Did a good job considering the extreme contrast. Have you tried Fuji Velvia slide film? It has a way of smoothing the gap between the light and dark extremes. There's a technical explanation for it.... escapes me right now though.
Other shots on the same climb <a href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=newest_p_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=my&list_period=None&list_start=0&id=64005">here</a>, <a href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=newest_p_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=my&list_period=None&list_start=3&id=64022">here</a> and <a href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=newest_p_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=newbierockstar&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=approved&list_period=None&list_start=1&id=63986">here</a>
High res.... pleeeeeese!
Nice foot jam! Good use of depth of field (even if it's shopped.... I still rate it highly).
I love this photo! Fresh ideas are good to see! Yeah, you should get the ratings you deserve despite the 'bombings'. Trick is, keeping the photo high enough to begin with to get exposure and subsequently more votes. I'm giving it what it deserves.... 10.
LMAO! Yeah.... no matter where he is, this'll get ya there!
Great picture.... why haven't I seen this before? I'm a fan of silhouettes....
(jamaica) It's actually not a tail.... It's clearer from <A href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=newest_p_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=newbierockstar&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=approved&list_period=None&list_start=5&id=63990">this photo</A> and <A href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=newest_p_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=newbierockstar&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=approved&list_period=None&list_start=20&id=63214">this one too</A>, that two of us had to tie in half way in order for our whole group of five to have a go at it. We used two ropes....
....and as always, very impressive to watch.... great determination and focus, sweetie. This photo really shows it.
That's a really nice shot, Tom! Excellent composition.... makes me wanna be there.... so high vote from me.
Are all his fingers taped up? Or is it the lighting and chalk? Gotta love crack climbing!
What? No climbing? Mooove along.... next.... this must be a misteak
That's the best slacklining pic I've seen yet, and the only I've given 10. Awesome!
That's a mighty fine photo! Let's see it on the front page..... bump.
Beautiful..... just beautiful.....
That's what I thought Runnit when I first saw it pop onto the front page. It is a classic climb and the view really is outstanding.
I think you could have done better with what you had. The climber is too far into the corner and there's too much sky. Otherwise, I like it, since I'm a fan of silhouettes.
....mmmm.... lucky rock....
Sorry, no room!
It's a super fun climb and it was great to watch Newbie gracefully inch her way up there. Great work babe!
....pffft.... downright cute, IMHO! ;-)
Great shot! Captured the moment perfectly. Good to see some decent amateur photography..... Is that really the name of the route?
Whoooah! Whadda ya tryin' to do? Kill us? That stuff makes me woozy!
....curt.... LMAO!! Nah.... all I got was this photo. It takes more than that to contain her enthusiasm.... thanks for the comments guys...
That's quite gutsy.... good shot Tom! Looks cold!
This problem is the 13-14 foot right arete of the boulder in <A href="http://www.rockclimbing.com/photo/photo_show.php?list_sort=highest_first&list_keyword=&list_category=0&list_filter_user_id=newbierockstar&list_comment_user_id=&list_per_page=25&list_album_id=&list_CountryStateID=&list_AreaID=&list_SectionID=&list_mode=approved&list_period=None&list_start=10&id=63988">this picture</A>.
I think it's a great picture..... lemmie help bump it.
I'm thinking.... Lord of the Rings.... Nice shot!
I love your work.... sometimes B&W does a picture much more justice.... great stuff!
Great stuff! Good to see some more material from Down Under! It's definately a scary place to be near those gunbarrels.
Hmmmm, a bolt less than a meter from a crack? Wat up with dat? Beautiful rock though and great view!
This picture oozes brilliance! I love it!
That's some backyard! Nice pic.
I'm a sucker for sillhouettes, although there is way too much black here. I reckon you should chop at least the bottom half of the photo off and resubmit as landscape. Nice pic though.
Great picture! Very powerful climbing too!
Thanks! It certainly is an awesome place to be. We had to traverse the cable over the river north of squamish to get up there.
Remove the words.
Great photo! Really shows how desperate slabs can be.... good job, looks like a nice climb!
Looks more like a double exposure than using photoshop to overlay them. Not too hard to accomplish. Good result though.
Looks like a sweet climb!
Now that's climbing hard! Great shot too!
Great stuff Lee! Got a great eye, mate. Captured the magic!
That's beautiful. I thought those black dots in the thumbnail image were pieces of snow sliding down, but now I see what they really are. Great pic!
Good to see you guys still workin' on new possibilities on Slider. Awesome shot and great work Duncan!
Brilliant! Love it! ....where is he looking? ;-)
Great shot - nice perspective! Is he leading it? If so, great job!
Look at that style! You go girl! Impressive! .....it was a cold day that one too!
Mine is though! ;-)
Awesome! I think it looks fine like that. No need to rotate it.
OMG!! Awesome! NC.... slab central! *drool*
Captured the atmosphere really well. Great shot!
Damn dude.... get some gear in! ;-)
Thumbs up here. That's a great pic!
You guys have some great looking rock out that way, Tom.
Hey, great stuff!! Congratulations! I did the same seven months ago with my girl. Looks like a perfect day for it too.
Nice pic Phil! He looks a little like Lee with that hair! ajkclay: I believe this climb is a 22/23 or so.
Thanks, Thomas! :-)
....I'm actually not sure what dpi this is.... it was resized from a 6MP photo.... and yes, "She" is a woman in every aspect of the word....
No way! You climbed it clean.... with style.
Thanks. This was on June 1st. The pin has gone since last year, which makes it a bold lead. Jay did really well.
I'm going to be getting my hands on PS soon-ish, so we can do some slight contrast adjustments like you suggest. Thanks Dan. Yes, she was very focused, Tom.
That's a GREAT moment, Phil.... and a nice silhouette of Frog.
....best crag dog ever! ....and the front of that green shirt rules!
....thankyou.... you are welcome to visit our friendly dark alley anytime....
....how 'bout we split the difference? 10b.... ;-)
Is his name Dog?
Nice shot.... for me, the action is too close to the edge of the frame. Would be nice to see the left hand about where his chin is.
Thanks for the comments guys. Hi Dan, I've actually only got a Fuji Finepix S7000. It's not even an SLR unfortunately. I believe the photo was at 1/600 at f5.3.
Holy rope drag, Batman!
Great pic!! Pitty his whole shadow isn't in the frame though.
I know the spot vividly.... great place for your honeymoon, Tristan! Congrats again! Nice photo.
That's classic! LMAO! Where's Waldo?
Awesome shot! Looks like you had good weather... I love that place! Damn, I know it's hard to see, but Zurbriggen's Ridge on Cook is really drying up.
Nice pic.... location, location! I heard that place is infested with tarantulas and rolling frogs.
Hey guppyc, you may want to bite your upper lip or edit your cake hole!
In the thumbnail I thought you were standing next to R2D2. LMAO!
Make me wooozy.
Fantastic Phil!! ....'bout time you guys got back to Redcliffs....
I still prefer the one of Lee from last year.... nice shot though, Phil!
Yeeee Haaaaa!!!! Awesome! Now that's exposure plus!
I think Damien needs to have that hand checked out.... it seems rather inflamed to say the least! It's bigger than his body!
I can't believe I've missed voting for this one. Great photo! Your shots always make me wanna go to Hueco Tanks.
I so wanna go and finish that route one day!
I doubt this is the first RC.com wedding, zozo.... but I guess one of only a few.
You legend Jay!! Gotta love them Montrails, huh? Nice shot Dan.... very clear.
Looks like a nice spot. Any crocks? (just kidding)
Great shot, Dan!! Pitty his white stripes merged with his upper arm, but overall this is one great shot! DOF is perfect.
Yeah, I haven't got to the first bolt yet. My feet are about 6 foot up and my left hand is about 3 feet short of the bolt. It's a granite tor about 40 feet high.
I wanna marry you again!! ....and again and again.... is that legal?!? ;-)
This shot portrays a lot about how the mountains can feel. Alluring yet foreboding.... awesome composition too!
Crikey!! Great shot.
Damn, that place looks awesome!! What a unique giant wave-like roof LK has.
OMG, that's hilarious!
A six?!? No way!! Mirror shots are awesome!
You're so gorrrrrrrrgeous!!!!
It's not a very colorful place ;-)
You had to pick at it, didn't ya?! Ouch!
That's one of the best 10's in the world!! Classic climb and great shot! I like it the way it is.
Is that your right or left leg? Doesn't look comfortable! Funny shot though.
Classic climbing spot! Nice pic too. I can just imagine the little old lady across the street bringing out a tray of wurstchen, brot, kaise, wasser und zwiebeln for the climbers to nibble on between sends. LMAO!!!
What's not discernable from the picture is that Ben (the climber) has lead a flat vertical wall to the "end" of the roof and continued to lead back down the roof to the "normal" starting spot. Phil's shed is awesome! So here in the pic, he has almost completed his lead of the roof in reverse.
This really does look like a friggin' awesome climb, Jay! Great job, mate!
Absolutely fantastic photo!!!! Please keep 'em coming.... I'm a fan!
Can I give this one 11? Coz I like it better than the other one I already gave 10!!
That's an awesome shot Jay!! Front page in my books! Keep 'em comin'!
Damn paparazzi!! LMAO!!
Awwwwwwesome!!!! Go Gumby, go!!! ;-)
LMAO!! That's awesome! Very impressive way to present the pic too.
Great stuff fella's!!! Now I wish we had gone and done that when we were up there in May. I've jumped off a 23m ledge into water with hiking boots and clothes on and even that still hurt. Can't imagine it in swimmers and climbing shoes.
Great pic!! Nice use of all the elements.... plus a damn fine lookin' climb too!
Yes please, may I have another?! WOW!! I wanna go too!
Awesome pic!! Oh, I miss the mountains!
Amazing!! Love how the small amount of light gives the photo so much depth.
Great photo!! Yes, larger please!
This is a great photo! Got my vote!
Damn! I wish I had mountains like that in my backyard! Great shot yet again, fabe.... keep 'em coming!
This is a friggin' awsome pic!
Great style!! ...the climbing, the shirt and the photo! ;-)
Good job, babe!! ....although a re-bolting kit might be the order of the day.... Those brackets look old-school.
This is a stunning picture Phil! To have known Simon and his genuinely friendly and likeable nature, it's incredibly sad to hear of his passing. You guys have done a great thing by creating this tribute on one of the most impressive walls in Queensland. Simon, you WILL be missed, mate!!
Yeeeaahhhh baby!!! Great to see the Newbiesexystar cranking out them leads! Woo hoo!!
Looks fine to me! Great stuff, sweetie!
This is an amazing photo!! Really good job getting such a perspective!
Yepper!! A most appropriate color to wrestle Texan granite with, my dear! ;-)
Great shot!! Looks like a beautiful place to climb with lots of exposure! How remote is this wall?
Nice shot, Tom!! Great to see your images up!
Good job, Gabe! Looks like you had fun. How many pitches is it?
There's no luck in it, mate. It was always meant to be....I'm not sure I totally agree with you about the pic.... a "little bit"?.... more like the "hottest!" ;-)
Yeah, I know I'm on a toppie, but all the energy I could muster to defeat this route was on TR.... oh yeah, and some "genius" got a hold of my camera to immortalize my flailing. LMAO!! Thanks Tom! ....I submitted pics of this same climb with a lead climber.
Thanks Jay!! Yep... weez two are good, thanks! ;-) ...and Paul, I can't remember the guys name, but I think he's responsible for a lot that's in the E-Rock guide.
Great angle, Jay! Good to see more of your shots.
I really like the action in this one, babe.... very graceful.... you make me proud!
Nice composition... a little too dark though....
LOL! I am keeping it family-oriented.... it's one great reason I married her! ;-)
Thanks everyone! I'm quite surprised it came out so good, because it was in the shade... somehow I captured the great colors the rock had to offer... btw. yes, the climb is called "Eat".
Holy heavenly orgasm from the gods!!
That looks like a lot of fun!
I don't normally like climbers centred but this shot is great!
Nice shot! The tree does a lot for the composition and gives it a autumn-like feel. (Should this be in "Alpine" though?)
Yeeee hahhhh!! Nicely captured!
Now that's steep territory!
Actually I had a brain fart.... LOL!! They put up a serious route on the Belfry! Sorry for the confusion! Vertigo was my first ever aid climb. Awesome route!
That's a severe route! My friends put up the original in winter conditions, then on their second ascent one of them fell and smashed his ankle on the boulder below. What's your alternative route? Sounds serious.... but great job!
High high up is he? Looks comfortable!
Too far off to the edge for my taste, but I like the effect. Also you should have got rid of the distracting stuff in the foreground.
Great angle Dan! Hey, his T-shirt matches the colors on this new site! LOL!!
I'd love to see this flipped 180! Then it would really mess with your eyes.
Awesome shot! Caught the moment!
That looks like a sweet smear... If I was close by I'd come give it a go too, dude!
Holy saturation, Batman!!
Ummm.... yeah.... ok.
That's a great perspective!!
Looks pretty thin. I like the leaf pattern of the ground. Good shot!
Nice pic. Maybe too much foreground rock IMO.
Damn, that looks fun!
You're makin' me droooool!!
Damn, I miss that place!! Nice shot!
Great shot....like how you captured the bird too!
Looks like a great place to climb. Good shot!
Nice shot. The rock there looks immaculate.
Would work better as a portrait with the left half of the photo cropped out. Good shot though!
Great to see Duncan in another action pic!! Awesome shot too!
Awesome shot, Dan! You're gunna wear that gumby shirt out one day soon, Jay!!
This is a beautiful shot, Tom!!
FA, huh? Awesome job! The rock there looks immaculate.
This is Arapiles!! One of the best crags in the world!
Wonderfully coloured rock!
Awesome shot! Love the exposure.... but it'd be great to see the face of the climber.
Wow!! Nice pic!
Is this what you can see up on the side of the mountain from the Ouray township? Looks like a heap of fun.
Droooooooool!!!!! Wow!! Please sir, can I have another one!
"The is plenty of room in life for hope" ;-)
Nice lead, mate! Great angle.
Absolutely awesome! Isn't this pic in the new issue of Climbing?
You need a shave, dude! ;-)
Yeah, it certainly is a long pitch! Good job!
Great shot!! Nice, clean and simple. Very effective.... at least for me anyway.
Beautiful picture! Check out the ski trails and other climbers down below.
Looks like a heap of fun!! Great to see the lower East states getting good ice.
Happy Valentine's Day, Sweetheart! Now, let's get crankin' on the rest of that rack! ;-)
Great pic! Would be nice to see all of his left hand, but it's a great photo anyway!
Beautiful pic, JR! That's as pristine as nature gets.
No worries, Carlos! I should have actually called you when we were climbing. We had a great time!
Where did you get this photo? Because I doubt the authenticity that it is yours. Unless you were with Neil when they tested it at Arapiles. Here's a pic of the owner: http://www.chockstone.org/upload/userfiles/nmonteith/big_cam.jpg
Ah, the Bluey's.... gotta love the Bluey's! Looks like you guys got decent weather for the festival! ;-) Nice shot Phil.
Holy desperation, Batman! ;-)
Would be 10 times better if the climber was looking up. Good depth of field and very clear shot.
Great shot! Captured his focus well.
That's a phenomenal picture, Phil! How have I not seen it until now? Did JJ send it?
I like it! Although you could try another font. A good use of an otherwise average pic.
It's weird to think that I was admitted to hospital only days after that.
It's just the Kiwi version of Via Ferrata.... and look at that perfectly good tree.... they need some iron rungs and a caving ladder up that too.... they could probably add a sit start to the boulder in the foreground....
I wish that was in my backyard! ....oh wait, that *is* my backyard! Moooooooooo!!!!!
Natural light or artificial? Either way, nice pic!
Yeah... makes me want to go back!! Great shot!! Is that a mitt hanging from his harness?
Always a pleasure to see this pic! I have had the book for a couple of years now and enjoy flipping through it every so often. B.t.w. if you look at the version in the book you can see the bolt is about a foot above his right hand.
I don't see what the problem is. It's a good shot... well composed.... a little flat with lighting but you get that in the canyon. Just because the climber's on top-rope doesn't mean the shot sucks. Heck, climbers spend half their time with the rope above them anyway. For a top-rope pic, this is actually a really good one!
Hahahaaaa! Awesome! Was it difficult to get access?
Nice framing... a little too saturated though.
Got a chance to go there once and never went through with it... bummer! Looks like nice rock.
The Hills Have Eyes! Oh Noes!!
Now there's some awesome characters!
Nice shot... I'd probably take out a slice off the left side of the pic though for better composition. Awesome looking rock features! I wanna go!
Looks like a great area, Tom! Nice pics!
Great sense of scale.
I like it. This type of shot isn't seen much here and it's nice to see something different, as sidepull stated. It could do with some adjustment; less of the foreground (perhaps 40% of the frame), so that the climber and spotter can be seen and have more emphasis, but keep the background blurred. Also maybe some more lighting on the foreground, even with a reflective surface to kick some sunlight back onto the rock texture.
Great composition and use of the distortion.... not sure the border work well though.
Did you make it? ;-)
Sweeeeeeet!!!! I want some!
Beautiful water! Rock looks basaltic.
Damn, that's a lot thinner than when I got on it. Was this in Spring? Sweet photo though!!
That's an awesome lookin' crack, Tom!!
Awesome looking face!
Awesome place to be!
I call fake!!! How could it be so light at one minute past midnight in September?!?!? Other than that.... he looks gripped!
Thanks! It was a great climb and an awesome days climbing. Actually I was at the anchor for this climb, below the anchor for Out Of The Sticks.
Thanks Mr and Mrs _ung!! You guys should totally go one day!!
You totally cruised that climb!!! It was a great hanging belay too! There's certainly more in Thailand than just monkey business.
Sweeeeet!! Where is this taken?
Looks like you're climbing chocolate!
Awesome looking climb. I don't normally care for butt shots, but this climb put things into perspective!
Damn! Is that piton still taking falls after all these years? Or has that disappeared and you need to place cams in the flake? Looks like he's placed a cam, but has clipped a runner to the piton with the piece in the horizontal crack under the roof. Great pic, btw! Still one of my favorite climbs.
*sigh* I miss good old Aussie rock! Great pic!
Great perspective!! Also cool to see a Link cam in action. :-)
No idea where you came up with six photos.... not on this site, anyway.... and you know what they say about opinions?
That's some good camera work too!
I wouldn't even need Photoshop to make that happen ;-)
Not staying in Ao Nang was probably the BEST decision of our whole trip! Thanks for the tip Art!
Great! Looks like a lot of fun!
They certainly are awesome!! One of my fave spots in any place I've traveled so far. I've got a shot taken from Crater Bluff here somewhere. Did you climb Belougery at all? Caucusus Corner is classic Bungles climb.
That is awesome!! Great pic that really captures the scale and makes me want to be there.
Location, location, location!!! Nice!!
What an awesome lookin' line!!
Not a bad effort, considering he's only got one arm!
It's not steep! Look at the draws... the pic needs rotating at least 3 degrees clockwise!! :-)
That is a sweet shot!!
Great lighting. Which climb is that?
Puppy Dawg!!! .........Hi Louis!!!
Haaaa Haaaaaa! Nice one, Phil!! Reminds me of the extreme Rob belayer pics!
Choss Marmot!! Why R U not at werkz! Hidez now!
Awesome jiggery pokery skillz, Phil!!
Great balance of color, light and composition! Nice shot!
What is it you're pointing at, Phil?
Tilted much? :-)
Sweeeeeeeeet!! Nice lead, Nate!
Great shot! Looks like amazing rock!
Hahaha! Actually, Art, I was using an autoblock, so it wasn't a problem to take multiple pics.
I believe its the broken strands from the bird pecking the rope. That anchor is dangerous though! The biner should be extended further, over the edge!
It would almost look better in portrait
Who is that? The Grim Reaper?
That's a pretty cool sequence!
I'm normally meh about silhouette shots these days but this pic is great!
Puppy dawg!!! :-)
How did you manage to get IN to that situation?! Sweet shot!
This pic's actually not all that bad for a butt shot. I never really like climbers dead-center though.
Great shot! Can you link to the route database?
Looks like you guys had a great day!
PBR tastes like spam!
Looks like a cartoon!
Incredible! The hardest bone in the body and you had to go turn it into a smoothy. Good luck on your recovery!
Reason number one to avoid highball bouldering! Ouch!!
Nice looking climb, Tom! You wouldn't get me on that thing though!
I like how the black in the sky (far left) balances the black of the climber. An absence of horizon gives it an exposed quality too.
Any chance of linking the pic to a route? It looks like the route "Party in Your Pants".
Cool pic! Looks like fun!
Good pic! Climber would look better a little off-center. Also if the climber was looking up.
Definitely nice lighting! I hope to get on that next week!
Great pic, Gabe! Nice lighting! Pity the belayer is a tiny bit chopped out, but overall excellent!
Where's it at? Can you link the route?
Good shot! Pity you can't see either of the feet.
Pity about those branches in the way. Great shot!!
Yeah, funny that! It came on Sunday just like it supposedly did last year. Although winds were around 40mph the Sat night they kicked up to about 60mph on Sunday. Our tent was destroyed.
That's an awesome pic!
Nice crackline in the background!
Love this shot! Great composition.
Sweet looking flow!
Holy foreshortening! Those peaks are awesome.
Shout... shout... let it all out!! :-)
Very nice.... better of the two submitted.
That's a great idea! Nice one!
You could have at least stood up!!!
No location... no description...
Indeed! Very interesting! Would be awesome if you could see his hands.
That is sweet looking choss!
Great shot! Perhaps a little too much bright sky but otherwise you've captured the location well. Makes me want to head to WA to climb!
Man, that's gotta be tough on the hands!
That's pretty neat, ekop!
Looks like something majid would draw!
The better of your series. There's not much color anyways, so B&W is a good option. It's a pity you didn't capture more limbs.
Looking at the thumbnail I thought this wasn't real.... but I was wrong, it definitely looks great!
Looks like a painting
Holy saturation, Batman!
I see a puppy dawg!
Niiiiice lookin' route!
Damn... that looks well climbed on.
Nice shot, Brenden!
I didn't find this climb too hard for 5.9 and it's certainly not sustained or anything. Maybe a couple of 5.9 moves up high. The first bolt, from memory, is a little high but you can get a good wire in before that if you need to.
This is neat!
Plenty of face holds! Is that Moraine Crack?
This looks like a heap of fun!
Perhaps you are watching a small nuclear explosion?
Damn they've built a heap more in the two years since we were there!
Aliens are notorious for avoiding the grasps of teh law...yer!
One hell of a deep dive?
Somehow the angles make that chalk bag looks huge!
Nice shot... could do with the right third cropped off though.
What is that? Glacial? A moulin perhaps?
The spine should be oriented to the direction of pull... or am I reading too much into it?
Hey!! Way to steal my picture, dude! Time to delete!
Can you please delete it?
It's a nice shot but the out-of-focus ground is a little overdone in PS for my taste.
That looks like it would be awesome fun! ....in summer though!
I like it! Nice composition. Not sure why the pic deserves one star for all the chalk though. I don't think the photographer put it there.
Woo!! Go JJ!! Crankin' hard these days!
Are these Toowoomba fellas, Phil? Nice pic, mate!
A toe flapper! Ouch!
Hah! Same tree, same squirrel... funny though.
Yeah, this is neat.
Awesome routes don't have awesome rests.
Dude... that tree is waaay down there!
Great to see historical images like this. Slide film?
It almost looks like the depth of field is too narrow and caught short of the climber.
Nice pic... I like the perspective... one thing that would have been great would have been to see the face. Otherwise I like it!
Good to see a helmet being used.
Great pic! Nice composition, not overly saturated, most limbs in view, face in pic, great-looking route... 5x check!
That is very cool.
That is a very neat formation
Great photo! Stunning position.
Awesome stuff! Looks fun. What are you using for flooring?
That dog is HUGE!
Looks like a neat climb.
Life as a dog is so tough and exhausting.
OK, Phil what the heck is going on here? And if he has his priorities right why is that not a beer?
We don't need to see Phil's nasty feet!
I really want to do this route!
There seem to be words following you up the wall.
It's probably just flipped on the horizontal axis? If you take a pic of someone on the other side it would be upside down. So the rock in the foreground is at the top.
Looks like an amazing line. As far as the pic goes it's a pity the climber is dead-center though.
Incredible looking wall!
Eerie lighting. Nice shot.
This is very neat!
Heh! Such a strange photo.
Looks like fun!
Nice pic... very saturated.
Wearing gloves while grating cheese isn't such a bad idea.
Evil Perv Cat stawking ur backyard beavers
Very cool formation!
