looks like "Essence of Manky"
nice view and composition.
photo would have more climbing impact if you were in a different position, not looking down at your feet.....
very nice pic. love how the climber is barely visible against the brilliant rock.
looks like those solo games of twister helped
awesome shot and perspective. dig the water beneath.
wow. what an exposure. looks like a cool climb and beautiful vista at top.
one of these days, if i ever get to visit scotland again, i will definitely climb.
cool action shot. love the fingers.
looks like a fun prob. interesting rock. pic looks slightly out of focus.
people that spray paint rock should have their faces tattooed with random graffiti.
that's hilarious! can't believe it hasn't been used as part of an ad campaign.
thanks for the comments.
shot on auto-white balance--no touch up: that's how it looked that day.
[only reason i put my name in many photos is that some (not just mine) have been "stolen" and used by other photographers at different sites....]
mark: Hilarious!! great comment!
really cool depth of field and composition
cool shot and composition. and the sepia treatments adds to the "aged" factor of the photo, in conjuction with Opie's Kitchen being closed.
wow. yeah, that'll you wake him up.
valarc: funny! you owe me a new keyboard!
yosemite: cloning. multiple shots from the same position; select area with lasso tool and move.
nice. looks like a fun problem.
looks like a cool wall to play on.
awesome fake tilt-shift. one of these days, when i have some time, i'll do a few of my own. really cool photo.
funny. i'd rather see females, but bravo for the nudity, the picture, and posting it.
cool capture, especially the dynamic stretch. interesting, colorful rock.
don't hear too much about bouldering in TN.
very nice. cool boulder. awesome you got to climb in NZ.
disagree about it being a "super fun climb" -- not even sure if i will contend it's a "fun" climb. definitely an interesting/challenging crux, trying to figure out where and how to bolt.
pretty cool shot. nice silhouette.
pretty vista. love the b/w. maybe it's my eyes, but the pic appears slanted a bit to the left.
that he should climb in what he slept in, for comfort?
people might complain about the visible rack and bundled rope. personally, i like it, especially for the visual depth. the problem for me is that the climber, the subject, is exact center. i'd like to see him more at the right edge of the frame, seemingly climbing to the center.
nope. haven't been. need to make a trip, i guess, seeing as how it's just a few hours away.
problem is, when i'm in southeastern TN, i'd rather be on my motorcycle on or near US129............
pretty cool shot. like the burly leg hook mantle. unique boulder, seemingly all alone. must have been a heavily overcast day--not much tonal wise.
knievel: waaah. don't like it? give a reason. vote it a 1. it's just a freaking photo, one of thousands.
nope. it's Frizzle Fry. Everyone Needs Friends is just to the left, follows a crack. Not having been on this one, I had to double-check before posting.
duck: no, you're not imagining it. shot with a simple point-and-shoot digital a few yrs ago. i may eventually return to the original and try to make it cleaner.
love that climb. can make it half-way no hands.
cool shot, but the focus is a bit off.......
very nice. great light and scene.
nice shot. lots of colors. awesome boulder.
"local" as in about 2.5 hrs away.
the trip that day was just for bouldering.
love the colors and scene.
looks fun. maybe the pic should have been taken a few moves later, with the climber higher, for...uhm...more "drama."
fowler: classy, dude. way classy.
nouse: your haughty condescension warrants a monkeyfist enema
very cool photo and effect.
for those who don't know about the blurring: it's part of the effect, called tilt-shift...or if it's done it photoshop, it's called fake tilt-shift.
not sure it'll fare well in the contest, but it's a meaningful, comical, and well-done photo.
considering the average reaction on this site to a female climber, i'm wildly shocked this photo doesn't have 2000 views and 15 catcall comments.
keep it going. 10a is just the start.
must have been quite chilly. hope there's a heating pack in the chalk bag.
gorgeous shot. awesome colors.
and a really fun V2--lots of variations.......
wow! deep, rich colors and strong composition. isn't this under Rainy Day Roof?
if it's Rainy Day Roof, there's a roof overhead, juts out about 20 ft; routes are really short, maybe 3 bolts, mid-10s.
as for the photos looking different: are you submitting large file or re-sizing to something smaller in photoshop? the photoshop compression does much better at retaining quality and color.
someone needs a monkeyfist enema
nice shot. good to see people hitting jackson in the winter.
nice perspective and focus. dig his heavily chalked right hand inches from the rock.
magical and mysterious
very cool. slightly surreal. better than the climbing shots, as this imports a mood, a story. just needs some time in Lightroom and/or PhotoShop.
fun climb, especially the bottom half. i've seen it done multiple ways. i usually stay on the face until the 2nd bolt then go around the arete.
cool shot. dig the boulder and tree and action.
yes, it is. Body Karate V9 starts underneath, moves to this. maybe even a better video: http://vimeo.com/2307471
about 5:25 is where Cold Fusion starts
made me laugh
but i do believe the prob got 5 stars in the new bouldering guidebook
beautiful. a surreal rock. dig the processing too. would be great to see this at another site, without the compression.
this is near Garden of the Gods. it's a small area, short bluff (35ft) line for trad. other, better areas can easily be found.
bomber dappled light and view
funny. can't get too far up before security comes running, tazers out.
do this again with the camera along the arch to get a reflection....
dramatic perspective and landscape shot.
nice pic and cool capture of her determination.
[potential for her to lose teeth......]
spectacular. killer tones and perspective.
scary cool photo.
hilarious, even if 'shopped.
OCD -- i definitely agree
really fun route. probably my fave 5.9.
can set up tr for Pita to the right.
i guess .10c is the average. i've heard .10b and .10d.....
super fun route
