Burly! Great shot.
I've got a large woody myself. What are you using on your floor for protection?
I've been there. what a great place, but whoa the approach. I had my 3 yr old on my back in mid summer. great pic!
nice shot, good looking climb. love the red!
very nice shot. I also love the contrast.
This is rad, dude. do you find that the roof section gets used a little or a lot. I have a woody in my garage that is ever expanding...
...reminds me of photos I've seen of Ceuse, France. Good shot, great place.
Great shot, this place looks incredible!
Yeah, thanks for the compliments, all. I have a "route" set that traverses across the top, down, and then across the bottom for a total of 26 moves/holds. I just tie in with a 5 ft piece of rope so it just threads through as I go. The roof that I'm under is 6 ft tall and the ceiling is 11. We've been having a crazy winter/spring this year and this has been a lifesaver.
Where you at, I'm in Solon!
...I guess I should clarify, gunkiemike. The first roof that I'm standing under is 6'8" tall. (I'm 5'7" tall). and the camera is on a 1' tripod on the floor so the perspective is kinda skewed! Thanks again, all. BTW if any of you are in the Iowa City area let me know and we can go fight the choss that is Iowa climbing.
Cost estimate...over 8 sheets of 3/4 plywood=$200+, 6-8 2x6-12'=$30, random screws/t-nuts/hardware=$60, AND Holds=$300+WOW what an awesome hobby!
Great shot, mate. Looks soooo fun!
I really didn't do it all at once. It took multiple sessions. I'd say about 20 hours, but I'm pretty picky. The hand crack had to be just right, etc...
The crack is made with two 2x6-12' with a 1x on the back so it won't flex. The inside of the crack has been sanded, filed, "Dremmeled", etc. to make the texture smooth as butta. It is very hard to use the crack alone, but possible.
Thanks everyone, I just pulled apart the far left dihedral and rebuilt it into a fist jam crack. Check out my other photos for visuals. Party!
man that looks way fun. nice pic, too.
Hey, this photo of my garage made it into "Urban Climber Magazine" check out the latest issue.
Nice work, especially the floating chalk that somehow makes it into every indoor climbing pic. Looks like great fun.
Nice work, Jackson Falls is great fun! Good use of PS
Love this whole area. Did you send? I had a rough time with it last spring. Great problem, though!
Thanks! The draws are there so I can practice clipping!
Somewhere between $1000-1300
