I went looking for the Dan Osman reference and found this sick pic:
Oooh. I was on this very beach just two weeks ago. I didn't even notice the boulders. Of course I had just blown out my arm kayaking, so maybe it's just as well.
I like this picture. You look strong and casual.
Sweet looking slab. I can see where your name comes from.
Me too, jcr! Until it resolved as grass, I was seeing the bouldering pad as a raft!
Musicman: Cliff DYING?
e_wire: So basically, she takes better pictures than you do. :)
I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurt - no problem. There's a popping sound preceding each; we can avoid that. Two, the lightning sand, which you were clever enough to discover what that looks like, so in the future we can avoid that too.
I like. Watching him sit there on that crimp is making my hand hurt though...
I love the rock, and the illustration of half-roping
I love the look on her face. You know that she's going to get that clip
"BELAY IS ON"
Angels, your next mission will be to stop Dennis from decking in the event that he blows this mantle...
Somebody get that man a courtesy call!
And here I thought the pad was for the guy climbing...
As a total trad noob, I can understand the desire to have 3 pieces in. :) Here's the other extreme.
All the pockets on that wall are like that, the ones you think will be good sometimes aren't, and the crappy looking ones might be as deep as you could want.
The dead... they have no sense of humor
Is your belayer one of these guys?
Your first outdoor lead was 11a? Sounds bold to me.
you two are too cute
If I were leading 11c slab, you can bet your ass I'd have a helmet on
Magical. I like the way the climber's hair meshes with the brush in the background
The photo really captures the move. His body posture is striking.
Anyone else think it's entirely appropriate that she's wearing spider man's colors?
There is something about this shot that looks like the lead in to... well, not climbing.
Hah, are you kidding? The biner makes the picture..
lol, my first thougth was first bolt too, but that would be crazy. Then I saw the rope from his harness going sideways
Technosurfing, huh... He kind of looks like he's surfing there..
When I first glanced at this it looked like she had the rope tethered around her wrist!
Yikes! That still counts as bouldering?
Nobody puts baby in a corner!
Did she get it? It looks like she's just missing the edge...
When the page first loaded the water was off the screen, and for a fraction of the second, I thought he was soloing the dangler.
The warping is disturbing, and makes the climb look massively overhung until you look at the quickdraws hanging off his harness.
I think he's saying, "Aw shucks, another photo of little ol' me?"
Beautiful. New desktop background.
You might want to adjust the angle to something remotely resembling reality.
Definitely lead it next time! A fun route!
Grace under pressure. Nice picture!
follow the other URL greatgarbanzo posted.. they're climbers.
What you don't see its that his belayer short roped him by 6 inches.
It *is* aron from rockreation. Dude is sick ;)
Did she have the rope behind her leg when she cut?
If you like this, be sure to click on the "pose" tag above. 8 more and we'll be ready for the calendar.
I love the move. If the surroundings were better it could be a 5.
heh.. apparently it's retroactive. :D
This photo makes me happy
It's not actually considered rock climbing if you fly up the cliff on a tower of flame...
Looks like a fun day
That run out looks a bit sporty...
What's the rating on the dyno to the tree trunk?
Dangler photos are always impressive. What's the rest of the route like after this bit? low angle juggy?
Because it's Europe?
That man can climb
I see where the name comes from
a novel angle. an inspiring shot.
He's following.. you can see the rope coming down to him
What an amazing route!
In soviet russia, bad photos give you 5 stars.
5 stars.. just for the title
Grab me mortal and rejoice! For I am the thank-god-jug of all thank-god-jugs!
ah man... everytime I see crack climbing it just looks painful. It doesn't help that every crack climber I talk to says that it is in fact painful. (but it gets "less" painful as you get better)
heh.. thanks mojede. I suppose there are plenty of people on the outside that think all climbing is kind of masochistic.
There is something about her stance, so casual, relaxed. She's going to walk right up that arrete.
That looks crazy. Did he send?
Amazing pic! Somehow I got a "Hang in there kitty!" image in my head from looking at this.
Welcome to the gun show!
Heh. Those are two of my weaknesses too.
Wow, that looks hard for 10a. Must be big holds.
How do you get down? Are there rap stations?
Check out the high res image. She's a girl. And a kick ass climbing partner!
It's a top rope wall.
I like this shot a lot. Always exciting when your elbows are brushing your knees.
I was just thinking... I'm not sure I want to be your belayer for this route...
I really like the texture and color of the rock
Wow, a fantastic shot. It's all about the form of the climber for me. The body tension between the tips of his two feet and his left hand. The way he's confidently slotting the thin crack at his full extension. Nice!
Fantastic. Completely captures the feeling of hard climbing under hot sun.
