it's a Buddhist chorten (stupa), different parts of the monument symbolize: earth, water, fire, wind and void. More detailed explanations can be found on numerous Buddhist websites.

yea, there is a directissima by Ferrari, Gelmi and Mesli D+/65 degree - according to Bolivia Climbing Guide by Yosi Brain. There is a newer and much more detailed guidebook by Mesli, but I cannot find right now, just moved to my house, and everything is kind of messy...:-(
