We climbed/bouldered there too, in our youth. I hope they decide to reopen it to climbing, if they ever actually open the Boulders Access.

I see 4 and 5 year old kids at the gym, and some of them are already awesome climbers, well compared to me anyways.

Not smart. Trust me. I have several severely mangled bones, with pins, in my right hand due to breaking and then rebreaking repeatedly while in a cast. It was great fun at the time, but now (20 some odd yeard l8r) I really wish I'd listened to the doctor.

Dont know much about dancin
Thats why I got this song
One of my legs is shorter than the other
n both my feets too long
course now right along with em
I got no natural rhythm
But I go dancin every night
Hopin one day I might get it right
Im a dancin fool, Im a
Dancin fool
I hear that beat; I jump outa my seat,
But I cant compete, cause Im a
Dancin fool, Im a
Dancin fool

At Crowder's Mtn? Man, I hate that climb. I threw up after finishing it. If that was what climbing was all about, no one would ever climb.

Just be glad that I'm not shirtless in my profile pic.

Reminds me of the Great Arch @ Stone Mtn, NC. except backward and no trees to sling.

Nice, which route?

5.4 slab? Shouldn't you be standing up? ;-)

View this Photo
Yes slabs are scary but ya gotta get your weight on your feet not your belly. Just saying...

It looks more like you are on Finger Crack.

I must have been doing it wrong. I tried traversing with my fingers in that crack.

Okey, dragging a baby up slab by tying the rope to his pacifier just seem horribly wrong to me. :-)

I never get tired of standing on the tree ledge looking up at this, or climbing it. Maybe not terrifically fun, but still fun.

You're crawling down a boulder?

Traversing on wet slab, looks like fun.

Cool. Almost no one leads this climb anymore.

We used to climb there in the 70s before it was part of the state park. There were some nice routes there. My favorite was the Pinnacle, or at least that's what we called it, which I think was probably 5.9.

Maybe you should climb it in the nude next time.

5 out of 5 stars I love, and hate, Stone Mountain.

Buddy and Les make me sick. I hope I can climb half as well as either of them when I grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Maybe a little of both?

Unfortunately, I have seen worse, much worse.

5 out of 5 stars Looks like fun.

Yeah, sounds very well bolted. Beats 1 bolt in 150 of slab any time. I might have to make a trip north someday.

Looks like fun. Define "well bolted".

Looks fun. Definitely gonna have to make a trip to Squamish before I get too old.

4 out of 5 stars Looks like an awesome 5.6.
