Nice pic. Can't remember the name of the climb righ now, but its rated somewhere around M5/M5+. Mental Jewelry (M6+) climbs the rock to the right of His and another M6+ climbs the rock to the left of Hers. -25 I've been in Grotto in those temps before. Anyways, Great pic :)

Sweet pic! Love how you caught the contortionist appearence of his right hand and the old school suspenders are great. I can feel the pain in my hands just looking at it

Some of the sharpness of the photo was lost when I reduced the size :(

So, these would be the bluffs that were eventually blown up to make room for those shanky condos in North Van? Shame.

Moose if you want more old school I'll make sure he's wearing his dad's Super Sherpas, with SMC strap-on crampons, an alpine hammer in one hand an a humminbird in the other... with a swami belt, an old JB helmet, and a length of Goldline. All of which we can round up for the weekend.

Yikes? No way. The kid is light. Solid stance, low potential for horizontal forces, 100 pound weight difference in my favour, and his Dad who's been climbing since the early 70's taking the pic, giving me props.

Body belay over the shoulder comes from the same era as the hip belay, so yes moose, somewhat old school... but oft used by many a crazy Canadian.

Don't see any Method? The Method is called "Active Short-Roping". But hey, no-one on here really gets out climbing, right, and as such wouldn't know jack about moving efficiently using Alpine techniques to limit the time of exposure to objective hazards.

4 out of 5 stars Great pic. If you were to do anything else to it to make it better I would crop out the trees. They seem to distract from the 'feel' of it. Good job on the Photo!

5 out of 5 stars I believe you're thinking of "The Final Battle" at Kanga... this is at a different Crag. I'd like to give the other one a shot though.

Crazy. Not sure what to think of it. I like the abstract, but you sure you haven't been doing a little too much roped soloing lately?

Mrs. The_Climber is half my weight and has never belayed (yet) anyone. Also, it is rare that a rockies chossaddict gets a chance to rope solo on rock as good as Squamish granite.

You need to use all that training at your local ice gym and make a road trip out here.
