I took this shot from the back side of El Cap Meadow with a 300mm f2.8 on my Nikon D2x in highspeed crop mode... which effectively makes the lens a 600mm. Thanks!

I don't think the shot would work if it was flipped, the route is slightly overhanging, not slabby. Kinda like surf shots should have flat horizons... the physics just don't work otherwise.

Two photos put together in Nikon Capture. Did one in camera but I'm pretty sure the NC file turned out better.

Three sources of light in this shot, two 600W Profoto heads in a softbox and the sun. Not much in PS besides resizing and curves.

I suppose its an HDR image but I went about it differently. Usually HDR is 3 or more frames and this is just two.

The Narrows pictured here is an hour west of SLC, in the hills outside of Tooele.

What's called photoshop?

I hear what you are saying with the light behind the climber looking as if its a different temperature, but the strobes are balanced and I think what you are calling 'white light' is just brighter than the sunlight. But I hear what you are saying. Its shot as wide as the problem allows.

Three lights to light up this one. Firepit was actually 50 ft feet down the rd, next to the coal trailings, we moved it to this spot and yes cleaned it up when we were done. Kate Bishop is spotting, top out is pretty easy.

There is a two bolt belay down and around the arete from where the crack peters out. Adds about 20 ft of undercling pulling to get to where you belayed I bet.

Photo is labeled wrong. Its the 85mm Tilt Shift messing with your typical plane of focus.

Not sure I see a red cast, more like orange. It was shot warmer than it should have been, but thats the way... uh huh uh huh... I like it. Thanks for the good word. tk
