Looks like he is climbing on mud.

View this Photo
Cool, glad you're inspired. Phil and Steve deserve all the credit. This place is a blast to shoot.

View this Photo
yeah, you're right. I lied. My grandmother did it yesterday with only one hang.

View this Photo
Nice overview shot.

View this Photo
Nope, he strung 'em together. He's 43 and charges huge waves and is still doing 5.13. I belayed him on Pyromania just after this and he sent it without a fall. Of course he'd never spray about it, way to humble. We did Whitney the next day...

View this Photo
Oh yeah, he did laps because he forgot a draw so he just did the climb again. Ha ha, he's something...

View this Photo
This is simply one of the most outstanding photos I've seen on this website. Put it in a calendar. Well done!

View this Photo
A+!! A 10! Oh, I mean, .12a

View this Photo
I don't dress 'em, I just take the pictures. But you're right, next time I'll ask him to drag out his red spandex from the 80's!

View this Photo
What campground?... there are many.

View this Photo
I can't stop laughing!

View this Photo
Cool lighting. Nice shot.

View this Photo
Did you crash into the river?

View this Photo
Brrrr...

View this Photo
I'm cussing at the f---ing rope. I should have used longer slings. The rope drag on this 5.6, if done in one 130' pitch, makes it more like 5.10.

View this Photo
See, now this is the kind of shot we want to see in the BEST OF RC.COM PHOTO BOOK!!!! Sweeeeeeeet!

View this Photo
it is good! A sweet 5.10b with nobody around but wild sheep!

View this Photo
oh my god I'm glad I live in California...

View this Photo
I thought they edited out this crap?

View this Photo
dude, that's the one that got away! We made it unguided up to the bottom of the summit pyramid on the right... this brings me back! What a glorious Mt. and a RAD shot!!!

View this Photo
A cute girl who climbs can smile all she wants to in my book.
Nice pic!

View this Photo
Actually, if you've got the head for it, then this route would be a fine solo. Much easier than Cathedral Peak.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars ps- this is the same shot as the Surfer Magazine cover, but from a different angle.

View this Photo
Cute! This wall is actually really good! Super solid rock, but the waves out front are even better!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Sweet, Central Cal just keeps getting better! Nice find and cool picture!

View this Photo
try it in b&w since it has mainly grey tones! Killer route!

View this Photo
Location, location, location. 100 feet from the Hwy.

View this Photo
yeah, he's going surfing right after he makes the dyno. I like the hands (spotter)... shows how high he is. Great use of light. That's real photograpy.

View this Photo
" This is one of my first-ever climbing vacation in Acadia National Park." doubledare, your six pack is better than mine but that is one classic quote...

View this Photo
Man, this brings back memories. I did this climb solo and when I got to the summit it was a whiteout. Lucky you!

View this Photo
Take a chill pill Hosh, I'm tied in on my end. Look closely and you'll see the other end run seperately through the biner and under my leg down to Ed.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Pop in a cam! This picture makes me want to climb it. Cool!

View this Photo
This is one great climb! Looks like you got it on a nice day too! We got lightning just minutes after our summit party! Cool pic!

View this Photo
Adventure climbing at its best (worst?). On sight on lead, the first bolt went in the white patch 7' above my head. And yes, all those cobbles are loose.

View this Photo
Don't know, I wasn't there...

View this Photo
How high up is that roof? Might have been better to shoot this vertically to show the route more. Looks fun.

View this Photo
turn this sucker 1/4 turn counter clockwise and it'll be a rad pic! Try it! Cool colors.

View this Photo
Yeah, Old Town looks like my kind of climb! Sweet!

View this Photo
OK, I had to come back. This is the BEST picture on this whole site! It should be permanently on the front page! I just noticed the SOS in beer cans. AWEsome!

View this Photo
If I had a nickle for every photo somene took of their cool bloody hands I'd have $2.55. Please let this be the last. Is it a pride thing? I don't get it.

View this Photo
I appreciate that you didn't monkey with the colors, Nice desert pastels! Pretty picture.

View this Photo
cool rock, cool positioning, studly lead, great photo!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars I can fly! Yeah, superb effort! Nice overview shot of the rock! 10!

View this Photo
Rad! Crop this into a panorama and put it on your wall!

View this Photo
This used to be the best crag in the area but it sheered off during an earthquake and fell into the lake. The climbs are still good, but a little slippery. Bring a snorkle...

View this Photo
next time use flash fill...

View this Photo
Duuuude, where is this!? Luminy? WOW, this place is rad!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars This one is rad!~ the draws swingin, her right hand just barely on it, the grimmace, the belayer totally dialed it on her... very nice shot! Good timing!

View this Photo
airy!

View this Photo
I want biceps like that!

View this Photo
what a trippy rock!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars This looks like one f-cked up boat trip!

Sweet FA Louie! Killer route man, great job!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars dude, who is your rad belayer? He is a stud!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Go Brandon! Wahoo! Louie, this is the best picture from that day! Sweet timing! Awesome!

View this Photo
I'd have to disagree with you. I'm tied in to a 3 point cordelette and a fixed piece, backed up by tieing myself in with the rope. You're just not seeing the rope clearly. Go back to zzzzzzzz .

View this Photo
What size cam would that take?

View this Photo
Theye were swept away during the immense flood...
So now I just use cow patties. Cheaper than a crash pad.

View this Photo
mdude/gunkiemike... it is a BD Bod harness... No belay loop. Doh! Now maybe you can just enjoy the view (probably not)?

View this Photo
Actually, it's a tradition out here to climb in socks. It dates way back to the place's very beginnings. (See Brent on the column picture...) I mean, you don't have to, but if you want to be accepted, you should wear 'em.

View this Photo
Really sharp (what dpi is this?). I'm pretty sure this is a "her" though...

View this Photo
They don't let you choose supersize when you choose the landscape/scenic category. I'll have to wait for them to do it.
But thanks.

View this Photo
I am amazed that nobody has commented yet at how cool the belayer looks...

View this Photo
1 out of 5 stars really grainy, and flash fill would have really helped it out.

View this Photo
This baby now sits on top of Slate's Spire (5-20-06). There have been 10 recorded ascents to date (about one a year). The spire is now in the California Coastal National Monument.

View this Photo
yeah, it is hard to spot. It is 9 miles north of Ragged Point. There is a large dirt pullout on the outside curve and a pointy Rock. There will be a gravel road down to it almost.
A California classic, and the rock is really awesome!

View this Photo
pretty cool rock formation. Looks fun.

View this Photo
They're actually leg warmers.
His favorite movie is Flashdance.
What a feeling!

View this Photo
No Kidding! Or at least a garden shovel.

View this Photo
I'll be honest, I like the fact that there is a beautiful woman in the picture. Symmetry, blue, green, that's all good too. But if she was fat and had hairy armpits and no hair I probablly wouldn't care about the symmetry so much...

View this Photo
I can hear them chanting... "we're not worthy".

View this Photo
Staying true with the lucky socks! Love it!

View this Photo
That homeless dude is stealing your crash pad!

View this Photo
Yep, pretty cool!

View this Photo
Ah yes, the "look".

View this Photo
This picture made me smile. Way to think outside the box!

View this Photo
Wow, that's pretty cool! What a world we live in!

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Way to go Peace! Cool car down on the road too. High!

View this Photo
Hard to see the rope. But cool wide angle.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Beautiful picture (tough lighting but you pulled it off), but I'm glad I'm not him!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars That's pretty rad (the climb, the climber, and the pic!). Nice!

View this Photo
Yeah, you go! How stoked are you two!

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Yeah! Another cool place I'd like to get to. Nice work!

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Yeah! Good on ya for makin' it there!

View this Photo
The wide angle distorts/bends a the edges. It is slightly overhung. Go climb it and you'll see.

View this Photo
Yeeaahhh! That's nice!

View this Photo
So that's what the place looks like! Very cool.

View this Photo
Wow!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars This is a sweet picture! Front page material.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Awesome!

View this Photo
Odd thing with the shoes...must be an OW climber's trick?

View this Photo
yeah, composition and lighting are there. Cool shot.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars retarded comments like the ones by dorky_alpine and saber_up_my_butt are the reason why I don't bother to post pics anymore. If the climber wasn't there, there would be two people staring up at a rock, or if there were no people, you'd have no idea how big the rock was. Don't listen to these kooks. Nice shot.

View this Photo
This is a great route! Gotta love the Needles!

View this Photo
nice timing Louie!

View this Photo
No doubt! Nice shot.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Great perspective! Cool shot!

5 out of 5 stars Louie, this is such a bad ass picture! I want a poster!

View this Photo
Way to go! Inspiring! I hear the surf is good too!

View this Photo
Sweet shot! Are you bragging about your sweet camera to make us jealous or are you getting $$ from Canon :)

View this Photo
good eye for an opportunity.

View this Photo
dramatic, nice job.

View this Photo
Yes, you're right, inspiring. Doug is the epitome of positive energy.

View this Photo
yeah, bigger. How's the climbing? And is there surf?

View this Photo
If the weather holds, I'm going up second weekend in November. I hear this route is pretty damn rad.

View this Photo
What dome is that in the background?

View this Photo
Bring back the shoe! There hasn't been as good a one since!

View this Photo
give your climbing buddies red and yellow shirts for Christmas.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars That is how you do a butt shot.

View this Photo
Great use of the wide angle. Wouldn't be the same without it. 17mm?

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Great lines in this picture. Very nice! I wish I took it!

View this Photo
That coil of rope looks problematic. And does it cross the trail? Nice layback though. The yellow helmet helps draw the eye.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Nope, it's Tom from Nipomo. But I've had Olympia beer (not really actually).

View this Photo
Nice angle, makes it look steep.

View this Photo
dude, next time I'm also bringing my shoes and rope!

View this Photo
I'd say it is 5.7+. It is smooth and balancy at the bottom, but has bomber incuts on the upper half, cool granite plates. A lot of variety for such a short climb, 40'.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Man, I want THAT in my backyard! Beautiful!

View this Photo
Yikes! Is that a bird nest behind it?

View this Photo
postcard

View this Photo
Too bad he isn't climbing, instead of just sitting there. Nice, but could have been epic!

View this Photo
I don't know, the cliffs up beyond them look pretty inviting... get up there!

View this Photo
Use a flash next time.

View this Photo
use a flash! Please, for the love of god, use a flash!!!

View this Photo
Look harder, it's the thing with arms and legs and red shirt climbing that hard to see crack on the right side of the picture.

View this Photo
That Velcro is awesome stuff! Way to stick it!

View this Photo
I've only done it a couple times, but man, that looks like a text book frozen waterfall.

View this Photo
Louie, I think you're ready for a calendar. Sweet.

View this Photo
So now I know. Great to see overview shots like this.

View this Photo
That's a huge roof ;)

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars If you consider it heady, you need to get out more.

View this Photo
Ahhhh, that brings back good memories. Glad I got to lead it.

View this Photo
I wonder if a photo-stitch technique would have worked. I can't even comprehend that solo. Gnarly.

View this Photo
Beautiful, almost looks like a painting. The lines are amazing.

View this Photo
Great contrast between man and route. Dramatic pose as well, good timing. (send me the pics :)

View this Photo
This whole place just seems magical.

View this Photo
Wow, 12 pitches of slab? Sounds like the Glacier Pt. Apron of the East.

View this Photo
gasp... pro looks tricky.

View this Photo
Yeah, what's out left? The dark rock makes for great contrast. Maybe try it next time out. Sweet shot though.

View this Photo
very cool! Surf doesn't look so great though :)

View this Photo
was there a closure? get this picture off the web!

View this Photo
This could have been a book cover... shoot vertical and before the clip!

View this Photo
I realize a superwide distorts, but I actually kind of dig it.

View this Photo
cool! Did he send it?

View this Photo
great colors. Try and shoot vertically next time.

View this Photo
That's my cam, my girlfriend couldn't get it out. Mail it to me please... thanks!

View this Photo
Yeah, your shadow is cheating, I think he's standing on a tree limb.

View this Photo
Great to see climbers having fun! Great shot! Many would have posed for the hardcore shot.

View this Photo
I think this is a good shot, but it is the size of a postage stamp... can you resubmit it larger?

View this Photo
great timing! Nice shot man!

View this Photo
Man, that looks a lot like Shadow Rock in San Luis Obispo, CA. Cool shot.

View this Photo
Louie, the contrasts at this place are wild! Very cool line on the rt facing corner!

View this Photo
great contrasts of dark and light.

View this Photo
Pebble Beach as in the golf course? Monterey?

View this Photo
Nice going on the FA!

View this Photo
Nice!

View this Photo
He almost looks like a bug that got squished by the rock. The scale of it is just silly, what a crack! It also almost looks like two different types of rock.

View this Photo
aka the East Face... Hey, you don't see this place in photos much, or at least I don't. Nice! Post more! Is Cosmic Wall any good? I've heard mixed opinions.

View this Photo
Take this picture off. It misrepresents climbers in general. Most are not illiterate and actually follow rules, or at least aren't dumb enough to break the rules, take pictures, and then post them on the web and spray about it.

View this Photo
Yes, and if you belay from there "the next ledge up", you don't get this view or this picture.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars Yep, Hermaphrodite's Flake indeed.

View this Photo
great to know, thanks!

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars almost 300 views and no comments... jeez...
If you look close, you can see seals on the rocks.

View this Photo
you mean that pile of loose blocks with flowers on it...? No you won't see me there.

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars You gotta climb it to believe it... very good! And there are others...

View this Photo
4 out of 5 stars Actually, it is solid. That scar came from the first ascent cleaning. This place is surprisingly good now with several new routes.

View this Photo
I gotta get on it!

View this Photo
Looks highly featured, what's it rated?

View this Photo
Louie, niiiiice!

View this Photo
Pretty sweet!
Did ya use a filter or hue it up?
It'd be good as a black and white also!

View this Photo
There is a face hidden in the stone to the left. Very cool.

View this Photo
Wonderful... but we gotta buy Grahm some new shirts...

View this Photo
I love shots like this, the insignificance of man... beauty!

View this Photo
mysterious...very enchanting.

View this Photo
5 out of 5 stars I could, but then I'd have to kill you ; )
Between SLO and SB.

View this Photo
It's shots like these that make me put routes/areas like this on my hit list. Outstanding and inspiring. Thanks for sharing! Is all the rock in this area like that?!

View this Photo
A study of form...or an excuse to get a girl to take her top off. A little tweak in photoshop would do wonders for the shadows and highlights.

View this Photo
Land sakes, you did the second of Precious! I knew you'd be the one. I doubt anyone else is willing to risk their melon. So... how bad was it? Did any of the bowling balls come off? We cleaned it, but it still had to be bad.

View this Photo
Grahm, are these shots going to disappear once Shuteye reopens? This shot is the best of the bunch. Talk a girl into doing it in a bikini...

View this Photo
Great timing to wait for the climber to hit the warm spot of sunlight. Cool lines and contrast.

View this Photo
Beautiful picture and rock... but as usual, the one in California is better... ;) take a look for yourself-

I've never used them, but have been in plenty of situations where I know I could have... I'd like to be in one of those situations right now. Bring it on!

View this Photo
Nice contrast between what seems to be a black and white cliff and the mono-chromatic blue of the climber. Did you desaturate in PS? Looks like it. Regardless, good effect. Shot with a wide angle (guessing 17mm) either on rap or on scaffold? Looks more like a blunt broken corner system than a crack. Anyway, abstract it is, and looks fab.

View this Photo
Good shadow work.

View this Photo
cool colors but lacks a subject.

View this Photo
There is an amazing 5.9+ going up the middle of the face on the far right side of the picture. It is one of the best in the state (thanks Grahm for the FA!). Go do it!!

View this Photo
makes me wanna climb it.

View this Photo
Ohhh...look at the wicked roof behind him... Hmmmm

View this Photo
Looks sweet to me. Don't get lured in by the negative kooks.
They're everywhere too. Nice colors. I wanna go.

View this Photo
Ah, so there is an alternative to the late show in Oakhurst (late meaning 6:55pm)!

View this Photo
Yes, that's what the title says.

View this Photo
next time ask the climber to step off the rock a bit towards the edge so you can get a full silhouette of the climber. Never be afraid to speak up if you really want the shot.

View this Photo
not called Ocean Front... I took the picture and developed the place. Not sure who wrote Ocean Front on all the pictures. They aren't even on the same rocks! The is the Pearls.

View this Photo
Almost looks like a painting. A little hazy, maybe try to add some contrast in PS to to bring out the climber? Still a cool pic.

View this Photo
Welcome me! ;)
