Gary on Feeding Frenzy - 10d/11a

Gary on Feeding Frenzy - 10d/11a (view)

Gary Henning on this popular warm-up traverse. For those that question the bolts next to the flake, they are there for two reasons. First, there are five routes that continue above this feature that are entirely bolt protected. Only a couple of bolts were installed between those used on those routes to allow for this climb. Second, the flake is very thin and goes straight down (vertically toward the ground). Any protection would need to be cams shoved straight down and would likely blow out the edge of the flake in the event of a fall. Photo by socalbolter.
