Proper gear storage is a must. The bivy cave at shortoff has seams and cracks that eat up the pro and help keep gear organized.

The view is spectacular from the top of the gorge. The view alone is worth the trip.

Brian Raffield enjoying the clouds! Drove 4 hours from Atlanta and hiked racks and camping gear to the top of Shortoff Mountain, North Carolina. It rained the entire weekend, but because we were in a drought that year we couldn't find a drop of water to filter.
