This was one bluebird kind of day that alot of folks took advantage of.All of eight climbers on route! It all worked out well and everyone got up and down,safe and sound.

Location: Cascade Mountain, Banff, Alberta Route: East face – Bankhead Buttress Photographer: Hugh MacPherson Description: There were some very thin spots, vertical knife blades and a few hook moves, to get your heart pumping. This route follows an overhang that varies between a few inches and 6 feet. The overhang is barely visible from the road and rather resembles a slightly lighter color band of rock. It is 1 pitch up to the overhang, and 5 pitches of traversing. Due to the way the valley floor rises towards Lake Minnewanka and the traverse is level, you end up back on the ground with no descent.

This is an overview of most of Cascade's South Face cragging. The falls(WI3) are one of the most popular around and the arete to the far right, Mothers Day is a classic ramble.
