The ropes are obvious to me, but most hikers seem to think they are there to help them climb up the scree.

If you look just below the last step of the belay boxes, you will see the start of the 6. It never occured to me to use a stick clip to avoid the 25ft drop...

A rather goofy self portrait at the top of a short sport climb at Grassi Lake outside of Canmore, Canada. This was my second time on real rock and I enjoyed every minute. Not a bad shot for holding a disposable camera at arms length.

I like this picture - I'm not sure why. Maybe it's Sonya's cool and collected look.

This was the last climb of the day that we did, as we were losing light. Made for a nice picture though. Climber - Justin Gullickson. Photographer - Craig Zubris

This picture doesn't do the lake justice at all. Too much reflection...the colors in the lake are truly amazing. I think the climbers look good though. Lower climber - Heather McCulloch. Photographer - Justin Gullickson

I thought this picture was kinda funny, cause it looks a little like I'm standing on the mountains in the background.

Not entirely sure which route I was on, as there are a lot of new routes at Grassi since my guidebook was printed. I think it was Memphis though...or at least very near it. Anyone know? it was quite short only about 4 bolts to the rap station, and fairly overhanging. climber - Justin Gullickson. Photographer - Heather McCulloch

I'm not too sure what the name of this route is...maybe "Born from the mountain". All I know is that it was super-fun.
