...because when somebody takes your photo on it, it makes you look all crunched up and weird when you assume one of those slab-climbing stinkbug positions. Alex's body mysteriously shrinks while his head bobbles about. This is one of the ridonkulously thin oldskool slab problems (the middle one?) on the Gill Boulder. At least we could handle the approach.

When I say I'm half brown, half white, I'm being pretty literal. Photo by fellow halfbreed and bearer of the Arizona farmer-tan, Alex.

Getting romped inches off the ground. Yay! Trivia: Alex told me several times this day that I was in major need of a shower. Maybe that's why he was more interested in standing across the meadow taking photos?

Even Alex had to huck for the next hold on Horn's Mudda (V2). Then I didn't feel so bad for getting completely shut down.

EZ sticks the hold over the lip. This is such a great problem. The inital moves are great but the V5 crux is actually pressing out the mantel! It may not be high but it sure feels it!

Although this problem overhangs quite a bit, the holds are postive and the moves fun. Best to save that energy for the top out!!

This is another shot of my favorite problem on Cloud Nine, "The Scoop". Tommy did the F.A. and did not rate it "as is the fasion of the day".

An amazing piece of stone that is worth every step of the approach hike to get there. Thin, demanding super accurate footwork.
