Bishorn East

Average Rating = 3.50/5 Bishorn East

It's not much of a challenge to scale the Bishorn, but if conditions are good, it does make a beautifull scenery. (Taken from the West-summit of Bishorn, that's where the actual traverse of the Weisshorn begins)

Incoming storms over Val d'Anniviers

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Incoming storms over Val d'Anniviers

The weather forecast predicted a splendid summit-day for tommorow, but at about 8 o'clock the evening before, that seemed just a fool's hope. The rest of the night it snowed very heavy together with gailforce winds... To think that in the morning we were thinking about bivy-ing, but later decided to stay in the hut instead. Is there really something like a gut-feeling???

When the clouds go away

Average Rating = 4.10/5 When the clouds go away

After being stuck in the Capanna Margherita (in the background) at 4559 m for a day due to a two-day snowstorm, the sun broke through and we had were we asked for, good weather. We reached the summit after a 40 minutes walk in fresh snow.

Dawn over Pennine Alps

Average Rating = 3.62/5 Dawn over Pennine Alps

Even the standard route on the Dufourspitze has an interesting rock summit ridge. In the US, 4000 meter peaks are usually volcanos. This panorama was made from two Kodachromes that have been waiting since 1975 for technology to make the stitch job a reality.
