Cameron Fairbairn showing how tough life is on this side of the world at the beginning of summer, while the northern half of the world plunges into winter. Oh, the life of a Queensland climber having to deal with the complexities of climbing when its warm.

Aphelion 90m 22 (5.11a)

Average Rating = 3.92/5 Aphelion 90m 22 (5.11a)

Lee Skidmore (manacubus) making the second ascent of Aphelion 90m 22 (5.11a). Cam Fairbairn and I FFAd this route an hour before. Aphelion is a pure sport route on superb rock, the rock is almost as hard as marble. The holds are sometimes like gym holds with funky pockets coming up on occassion. This route is typified by the seven metre overhang that characterises nearly the whole route.

Phil Box commanding Black Op's

Average Rating = 3.80/5 Phil Box commanding Black Op's

Black Op's (24 or 5.11d) is a new sport route located on this cool section of Mt Tibrogargan, Queensland, Australia. The wall is located 90m off the deck and you must either climb old-school trad to get there, or do a big walk, and rap in. Here, Phil is attempting the third ascent. Photo: L Skidmore, Nikon digital.
