Tina and a Blue Spiny Cray: Lamington National Park

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Tina and a Blue Spiny Cray: Lamington National Park

During our recent trip to Queensland we did some bush camping at Lamington. We came across this guy as we were hiking. It was amazing. Once we had our poto shoot, we kindly put him down and continued on our way, leaving him unharmed.

On her first trip outdoors in almost eight months, Newbie suns herself on some very warm Australian rock and wonders why she's still climbing on top-rope. Honestly, don't most pros only climb every six months?!?!?

Rescue and ropes rigging

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Rescue and ropes rigging

We spent a whole week on a course using this Ozpod and other devices which can be rigged for rescue or industrial ropes rigging. I had soooo much fun on this course.

Guy anchors to the Ozpod

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Guy anchors to the Ozpod

This pic shows the one of the guy ropes anchoring the Ozpod. The interesting thing about this setup is that the ascender will shred the sheath at around 900kgs but because the anchor is set up as a sling it will hold 1800kgs as there are two ropes going to the Ozpod from a tree anchor.

Guy anchor setup 2

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Guy anchor setup 2

This pic shows several setups. On the right is another type of rigging guy. This guy will only hold 900kgs before the ascender shreads the sheath. We also have attached to the head of the Ozpod going from right to left a fixed line, a redirected line through a pulley and lastly a rebelayed line. Not to mention Cameron very safely ensconced on his industrial double rope system and you`ll notice that he is using a locked off No Worries descender on one rope and an SRT ascender as a backup on the other rope.

SRT No Worries descender device

Average Rating = 3.00/5 SRT No Worries descender device

This pic shows the SRT No Worries descender device set as a reversible brake on the main abseil line. This device will limit shock load on a static rope to around 800kgs.

Kong KISA friction plate

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Kong KISA friction plate

This pic shows the Kong KISA friction plate being used as a shock load limiting device for the back up ascender. The SRT No Worries also has shock load limitting abilities. The Kong Kisa in this configuration will slide at around 450 kgs and the No Worries SRT descender will unload and slide down the rope at 800kgs thus these two systems will limit the potential for a rope to have it`s sheath shred.

No Worries descender on belay

Average Rating = 2.50/5 No Worries descender on belay

This demonstrates an SRT No Worries descender being used as a belay device whilst the rope is being hauled through a 7 to 1 Trac haul system. The haul system pulls the load up and the No Worries as used here belays the rope. The Trac haul also has a Kong KISA load limiting device set up on it so as eliminate the potential of failure on this rope due to shock load.

Brisbane CBD

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Brisbane CBD

This is my local crag. It was taken a little while ago now. It's right in the middle of the Brisbane CBD. Jertsky and I are just about to rap down KP(I'm the one on the right). Not much of a climbing shot, but it's a nice view of my city.
