pitch 8, dunn/westbaymy partner heading off on pitch 8. watch out for runnoff on this pitch! the crack is a north face drainage, get to the belay before the sun leaves the wall! the belay is crap, one new bolt, two old pins, a 1/4 death bolt and a semi new missing the hanger.

Protecting the Chockstone MovesLate season, probably mid December, we found alot of ice on this bit. Did it this year (05) in November and it's usually a lot leaner. I like leading when it's skinny cause there's not much ice left sometimes for the follower. Brian took this shot as I procrastinated.

The Diamond in WinterNovember on the Diamond. The Smear of Fear is far from touching down, but it very rarely does. An awesome place to be but a tad chilly.

SunriseThis is me (Brian) during my second attemp at summiting Longs Peak. We arrived at the Boulderfield just as the sun was coming up, a much better day than the ice we had experienced 2 days earlier. Taken by Megan Eagen.

Heading BackThis is a pic of my fiance and I making love on a beach in the Cook Islands. . .
Okay, okay, that's a lie. There is no fiance. There is no beach. There is no love making. BUT there is a very big diamond about 1 mile away from this very spot. :-) Me above Peacock Pools. Photo by Randy Wong.
