Matt taking a quick trip up Rock Candy. A climb that must be climbed in this section even though it only goes at 5.8.

Melissa Candee on Scorpio (5.8) at Clark Canyon. I'm not usually a big fan of cracks, but this one was fun. Marie Pavlovsky on belay and Ken Miller, photographer.

This is my friends 12 year old son sending his first 10d. His dad required him to 'work the ratings' so he progressed from 10a to 10d in the course of two days. Previous to our trip to Clark Canyon, he'd lead one 10b up in City of Rocks. Over this weekend, he flashed 8 .10s and red pointed two more, adding 10 more 10's to his belt. He top roped the route "Spud Boy" (11c), thus we nick named him. All weekend he kept wanting to lead 11's and 12's ... Dad kept him leading the 10's. Next trip, he'll send 11 11's! I love the intense expression on his face.

After my friend, a neophyte sport leader, onsited this climb, I figured I was obligated to get a flash. The thin section down low on this route is well complimented by the massive jugs up high.

This is my view from the top of a fun 5.9+ called Drop Zone in Area 13 of Clark Canyon in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The two black and white specks on the ground are my Boston Terriers, Maui and Jordan.
