East Face of Mt. Whitney, early July 2005. Winter conditions still existed, so we climbed with the necessary gear (note ice axe).

My friends Jason, Cindy and I (Lt. to Rt.) at the top of Mt Whitney. We did it in a three day, two night, backpacking trip. We set up base at trail camp. Photo taken by unknown individual on summit.

I don't see the point of this sign, and I sure don't see any loose gravel.

Mike near the middle of the chute on the Mountaineers route. It was mid-august and there was still a good bit of snow on the route.
We weren't expecting all the snow, but I think the route is a little easier this way. Made for an amazing descent.

CrackMD on the FA of Rest Day at 13,000'. "you want a rest day? we came here to climb!" Despite poor weather sapping our desire to commit to a long route we found just what the doctor perscribed.

This shot was taken on August 6, 2005. It rained and hailed on us while we were climbing. And had thunder and lightning while decending via the Mountaineer's Route. Still one of the best climbs I've ever been on.

August 6, 2005. After finishing the East Buttress of Mt. Whitney, we ended up joining ropes with another party that had done the East Face in order to rappel the icy patch on the Moutaineer's Route. Note: Bring ice axe next time.
