I did not notice until after when reviewing the shots that each time he clips he makes a half smile/half grimace... makes me wonder what I do when clipping or placing gear.

An excellent climb which starts of with some crack leading to a cool dihedral with some powerful and technical moves to transition to pull a small roof up top. Well worth doing.

All the flowers were blooming and had vibrant colors. (June 4th 2006)

I passed this very small baby Rattle snake on the trail out. It was soo cool and small with a tiny rattle.

This Upper Gorge classic has it all: aesthetic line, superb moves, and exciting clips. The bolted crack issue has been run into the ground already, it's a rock climb and it fits into the context of the Owens Gorge perfectly. Do it!

This is Elan on High Seas (i think) our first climb in the gorge. We all have decided that if you had to describe the gorge in 2 words they would be f***in' steep!

A great way to avoid waiting for your route. The longest .8 i've ever been on thats for sure!

Almost to the top on the longest sport route i've climbed. Wish i had a 70' rope!
