up in a hurry...

Average Rating = 0.00/5 up in a hurry...

There's a storm coming in and my partner and I blaze up this route to beat it. This route is a sweet finger crack.

Jim Marozzo and I on Whitney Summit

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Jim Marozzo and I on Whitney Summit

14:45 hours from trailhead back to Whitney Portal. Weather was hot and thundershowers threatening last 4 hours of descent. Amazing climb -- recommend base camp sleep over to really enjoy the trip. We summited Humphrey's Peak two days prior to climbing Whitney, then drove 1500 miles home. Wow . . . what a marathon trip.

A shot taken Nov. 13 of the whitney portal area. Day and Keeler needle can be seen, as well as whitney peaking over the right ridge line. Lots of rock still to be sampled here.

View from Alabama Hlls

Average Rating = 0.00/5 View from Alabama Hlls

This is a view of Whitney from a secret spot in Alabama Hills. I took the photo with a Sony 5.5 megapixel camera with no filters. I did a llittle "unsharp mask" filter with Photoshop. Other than that this is pretty much how I saw it. Photo by: Ann Davis [longraven] Date: October 2004

Whitney Portal Craggin

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Whitney Portal Craggin

I was having fun on the Whale when a buddy took this picture. Although the start of this pitch is awkward, the crack was beautiful.

Highest toilet in the lower 48

Average Rating = 3.33/5 Highest toilet in the lower 48

After climbing the east buttress on whitney, I found that indeed there is a toilet at the top of the world. Fortunately I didn't need to add to the can but it did provide a good seat to a gorgeous sunset... =)

I shot this while on the summit of whitney- my dad and brother were shooting the sunset and this just looked good to me. I liked the painted feel of the sky that evening.
