I took a nasty fall two moves from the top of this one and messed up my elbow. Stiz took this picture, I think he did an ok job. For those of you who haven't been to the Black Hills you need to go. It's a great place to climb.

Here is Bill giving my little brother beta while top-roping the Campground Boulder. I really like this picture because it seems to capture the moment very well even though no one is climbing.

This is a photo I took in April of 1981 of Mark Jacobs on the classic John Gill problem called Outlet Boulder. It involves strenuous liebacking up and over an overhanging bulge to access the finishing holds.

This is a picture of Curt Shannon doing the Gill variation on Flying Buttress in July of 1984. I remember being the first person to use Fires in the Needles--afterwards everyone wanted them.

Andrew Gram on the Central Yellow Wall V4 on the Campground Boulder, Black Hills SD. An excellent John Gill problem with both powerful moves on big holds and delicate moves on small crystals. Totally classic.

The hardest Gill route on the Sylvan Lake boulder, sent on 7/31/09--not too bad for a washed up 53 year old.
