We got hit by a T-storm right after this photo and had to quickly evacuate--never did get to do the 2nd pitch which is the whole point of going up there! We'll be back to try again!

This is my awesome 14-year-old daughter Ashley on the belay ledge on The Rib: Easter, 2006. It was my first multi-pitch lead climb, and her first time climbing second on a multi-pitch climb.
The climbing was easy but as you know, we had quite a bit of stuff to figure out while learning a new route (Steele's guidebook as a reference--plus roclimb's advice on rockclimbing.com). Also thanks to Walt at Dingman's campground who gave us some good beta.

This is The Rib at Mt. Tammany, at the center of the Triumvirate Wall, with Triumvirate to the left and the Black Wall just around the corner from that.

This was my first climb as a second, in a basic rock climbing workshop at the Delaware Water Gap. Didn't expect to be shown more than top-rope, and when the group said they wanted to see our instructor lead a climb - I jumped at the chance to follow. It was only an 80-foot climb on a 5.2 route....but who cares - for a beginner's class, it was more than I could have asked for.

This is a photo of a climber. This person is me. He climbs a lot and it's fun. He is Northern and he is proud. This is the first climbing picture someone took of me with a digital camera, and thusly, I am using it for my profile picture.

This is what you'll see when you come into the gap and look towards Mt Tamany from the south. It's a pretty extensive cliff as can be seen from the photo.

this is me on a long traverse i found somewhere near van campen glen, not very far from the delaware water gap. i'm curious if anyone has been here. it starts low to the right (second shot), moves left on some fairly easy jugs/crimps (last shot), and ends with a top out up right above the water (first shot). sorry for the 'mount tamany' title...i couldn't figure out how to insert "blank".

A great area to climb and beat the crowds the same mountains (hills actually) chain as the Gunk’s although lower quality still make for convenient (3 minutes approach from the car) and secluded (from other climbers) outing
