The scarface is a 11a, (not a 11c), but can feel hard on occasions. Hence the confusion.

i put my hands and feet in the rock and kept moving them up tell i was next to some chains then i came down.

Here I am trying to make the starting moves on Scarface. Just a little above that I had to hang. The crack was thin for me. Next time I will be it clean.

I posted an earlier photo of this route and someone asked for the sequece. Here is the next move. I fell shortly after this move because my left hand came off the sloper. The second try, my left hand found the right side of hold and I was golden.

Perfect day during the first week of Jan. 2006. Arnold on Scarface, a bee-uu-tiful line on the Scarface buttress.

Dan was able to capture a shot of me just before attempting the mantel for which this superb climb derives its name. It was a beautiful January afternoon and we had the creek to ourselves

We enjoyed a beautiful saturday afternoon in January without another climber in sight all day. Very quiet and peacefull
