Leavenworth has a solid variety of granite to boulder on. The rock gods smile on the cascades, they also smile on Joyee Lau as she sends up the thin stuff. Photo Credit: 387 productions

Leading an easier pitch on the ol' Icicle Butress with the wind hitting the wall and coming straight up, hence the hairdo

After hiking out of the Enchantment Range, no reason just to head right to the airport when there's crack to be climbed across the street!! What an excellent short crack, even though it delayed celebratory beers from a great week of climbing in the Pacific NW . . . photo taken by Bob B.

Craig Miller on his first ever rappel at Barney's Rubble in Leavenworth, WA on 5/28/05. The day was hot, but the evening hours were very comfortable for climbing, and start very early in the day, considering the prominent hills and mountains all surrounding Icicle Canyon.

This is my friend Tyler bouldering in Leavenworth. I belive we were uphill from the Beach, it took some hiking and scrambling to get here. I was leaving for Costa Rica the day after this, and wanted to get in one last session. Gorgeous morning, perfect rock.

This is one of the guys I met up with on a climbing trip to Leavenworth last spring- he is climbing a V6 at the Forestland bouldering area. This was his 5th try at the problem- he actually stuck this move off a real high heel hook and toped out. Pretty sweet.

This is a profile shot, shot from the side of Cocaine Connection at about 12:00 pm. Climber is Murray. This was a very good route and because we got on it early we had it all to ourselves-a rare occurance in Icicle, espesially on this route. Look close for the belayer above the climber. This is a photo of my brother and I in front of Icicle Butress in Icicle Canyon (Im on the right). We had just finished the route a second time after I dropped our backpack during the first ascent, from the top of the final pitch. Photo taken by Dave Bartholomew.

This is me on some V8 right off the road outside of Leavenworth, WA. It starts on the right side on good holds and traverses the obvious middle line on slopers and crimps and tops out to the left. I was just visiting for the day so I don't know the specifics of the area, however, this is in the guidebook as just (V8. My friend Keith Lundquist took this picture.

I worked this problem several times during my trips to leavenworth. One of my favorite experiences was standing at the base in six inches of snow. It was the only dry problem in the canyon! This picture is of one of my first sends.
