SUPER fun route up in Rumney, crux is a tricky underhang reach (especially for someone with SMALL reach). A nice long sustained route.

I don't remember what route this was but I like the photo. This was early in my lead climbing days. If I recall that day, I onsighted everything. All the way up to 5.9+. Respectable for a newbie.

This is my project, my dream, my nightmare...It's a very sexy, pumpy 10d. The crux is on the upper part, and I'd say it's a lil height dependant (yeah, I'm saying that because I'm short). I hand dogged it on my first attempt a month ago, took me about an hour, but hey, I got to the top. I did a lot better last weekend, but I still need to work on it for the redpoint next weekend. I can't wait!!

While all the soft left-coasters were enjoying a warm and sunny New Year's gathering at J-Tree, a small group of hardy New Englanders ventured north to Rumney. There, they climbed frigid rock amongst hanging pillars of ice. Uasunflower is seen here exploring an unmapped line to just to the right of Glory Jeans. Twas a fabulous way to ring in the new year.
