Spud Boy in the makingThis is my friends 12 year old son sending his first 10d. His dad required him to 'work the ratings' so he progressed from 10a to 10d in the course of two days. Previous to our trip to Clark Canyon, he'd lead one 10b up in City of Rocks. Over this weekend, he flashed 8 .10s and red pointed two more, adding 10 more 10's to his belt. He top roped the route "Spud Boy" (11c), thus we nick named him. All weekend he kept wanting to lead 11's and 12's ... Dad kept him leading the 10's. Next trip, he'll send 11 11's! I love the intense expression on his face.

Flashing This Spud's for YouAfter my friend, a neophyte sport leader, onsited this climb, I figured I was obligated to get a flash. The thin section down low on this route is well complimented by the massive jugs up high.
