Orangahang is one of the best routes at San Ysidro. This photo, taken after a storm sumped several inches of rain on SoCal, shows the lower portion, wityh the crux overhang protected by a bolt (visible as a small white speck in the groove).

Climber on Peels of Laughter

Average Rating = 1.00/5 Climber on Peels of Laughter

Peels of Laughter is a very runout 5.6 route in San Ysidro that is the easiest way to climb to some popular toprope anchors. Immediately to the left of the climber, the lighter-colored wall is the face of Great Race, 5.10a, a classic climb at this crag.

San Ysidro c. 1978

Average Rating = 2.00/5 San Ysidro c. 1978

Wish I could remember who my partner was taking the picture of Yours Truly. Kind of a chilly day as I recall, but any day's a good day at SY.

Average Rating = 3.50/5 sbclimber on "The Great Race"

Sbclimber running another lap on "The Great Race". San Ysidro is one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen for climbing. The Great Race, 5.10a, takes a very aeshetic line up a sustained face. Photo by Josh Lewis.

Face lift and Great Race

Average Rating = 3.62/5 Face lift and Great Race

After a day climbing we walked to the other side of the creek to get a good picture of the main face of this crag. Face lift 5.7 (left) and Great Race 5.10a (right). Face lift is a little tricky (event though its only a 5.7), my partner took a nasty fall on it.
