Stepping Across

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Stepping Across

Zac measuring the one slopey dish for half-hopping on to gain the steep face. Doesn't look like that big a step because Zac is like eight feet tall. 28 Oct 2006

Old Man of Joshua Tree?

Average Rating = 4.00/5 Old Man of Joshua Tree?

We were checking out a cave on the other side of Locomotion rock when I looked up and said 'It's a face!' I thought this profile was so cool. Then I sent Josh up to pick his nose!

These Cracks are Hard!

Average Rating = 3.29/5 These Cracks are Hard!

This was our first trip of hopefully many to Joshua Tree. I went with my wife (wonderwoman) and my brother (who doesn't climb). I have heard of the stiffness of the grades, and combine that with my crack noobiness, I didn't expect to put too much emphasis on the grades. THis route was a lot of fun, once you get past the crux at the start of the route. 5.6? YEah, right!

a fabulous day at j-tree in the real hidden valley

Average Rating = 4.00/5 a fabulous day at j-tree in the real hidden valley

I am pretty sure this is jumping jehosaphat. It's one of the 5.7s or 5.8s on locomotion rock. This was during the last week in december and the weather was perfect (during the day). It was my first trip to j-tree and now I'm hooked. That's me on the rock and the route was lead by either Eric or Pierre. The photo was taken by one of the two of them too.

boretribe on Grain Dance

Average Rating = 2.00/5 boretribe on Grain Dance

After completing my first trad lead - leaping leana (the 5.6 crack on the right of the picture). I set up a TR for this route to see if I could still climb a 5.10 after my struggle on a 'mere' 5.6. The 5.6 lead was way harder and more fun! Not to knock this climb which is a nice finger crack that leads to thin face climbing at the top.
