Rye crisp behind the boulders. This is my first shot in a long time at developing B&W. I've always liked the framing you can do with these boulders near elepant rock.

Elephant Rock is a great place to climb. Wheat Thin was an enjoyable 5.7 climb. I would recommend this climb.

It was a beautiful day and this was the first lead. To start the climb, you chimney climb between the rock and the wall till you can pull yourself up on the rock, place a foot on the wall and then shift your weight to the wall.

Once again, Austin Lee climbing on rocks without a rope!! Soloing up the beautiful flake Rye Crisp, at The City of Rocks. This is one of the greatest lines I've climbed, with a rope of course!

Tristan and Austin can be seen hurrying to the summit of Elephant Rock, racing the oncoming storm. Fortunately it blew over and we had clear blue skies the next day.

This might be the last photo taken of this magnificent granite flake, as I am convinced that it is going to come toppling down any moment now.

Nice moves up an arete south of the ear feature on a boulder with many good pocketed lines. The trick is to set up the pad so as not to disturb the bush below. here i am making the left jug move.

Great line to try a SS on at Elephant boulders. Pulling over the lip is good times. Hopefully when i come back to the City, somebody will have put together a bouldering guide-it could be twice as thick as the roped guidebook! Potential here is mindboggling.

What an incredible place! This past Labor Day weekend, Sam Montague and I drove up to Idaho and hit city of rocks for a solid day. All the camp sites were taken so we just pitched tent in the pull-out for practice rock. We were up taking pictures and racking-up at first light. Here I am with elephant rock most visible in the background.

This is me on my hardest trad lead to date. Don't now the name of it, but it is rated a 10a in the guidebook, and is located on the N. side of Elephant rock

This is a good shot of Just say no. I slipped at the last bolt and took a 25 footer about 6-7 moves after this photo was taken.

My daughter, Sammi, age 8, on Wheat Thin. She loves this route and ended up following it a few times this past summer. September, 2002.
