Stepping Across

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Stepping Across

Zac measuring the one slopey dish for half-hopping on to gain the steep face. Doesn't look like that big a step because Zac is like eight feet tall. 28 Oct 2006

Pointing Atop the Truffle Tower

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Pointing Atop the Truffle Tower

A few more moves up past the anchor to the summit, to where one can see the brave new world toward which we are venturing, whereupon the urge to point that out for the rest of humanity is irresistable. Photo by Audrey. The Pointing Collection. 21 Oct 2006

First Time Pointing

Average Rating = 0.00/5 First Time Pointing

Not as easy as it looks, this pointing to our bright, new tomorrow. Should definitely look at where one is pointing, lest ending up pointing without the full sincerity said pointing moment deserves. With practice, this one too would one day point with confidence and conviction. The Pointing Collection. 21 Oct 2006

Ted Shread on Paul's Backyard in Alabama Hills

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Ted Shread on Paul's Backyard in Alabama Hills

Climber on an excellent finger crack amid a whole lot of bolt lines. To the left is the sparsely bolted Paul's Paradise, rated 5.9+. The top of the right side of this wall is actually visible from the closest pullout on the road. Just walk up the rocky hill in between a drumstick shaped pillar and this wall, instead of circling all the way around the far side as described by guidebook. NE facing, morning sun. 22 Oct 2006

Non-Heelhook Attempt on Bearded Cabbage

Average Rating = 3.00/5 Non-Heelhook Attempt on Bearded Cabbage

This was a very bad idea, when you don't have the reach. Right arm felt the pump real quick after letting go with the left to reach at the crack. Immediate hand traverse back to the right onto the rail again, for a heel-toe leg hook upsidedown hang rest. Did all possible to get this thing clean on the first go, but botched it at the end of the half hour struggle. Felt that long anyway. Came down. Went with a slightly different sequence and made good on the redpoint. A very patient belay by Armando. Photo by Steve. 1 Oct 2006

Tax Man on IRS Wall, Lost Horse in JTree

Average Rating = 0.00/5 Tax Man on IRS Wall, Lost Horse in JTree

A stellar line from bottom to top. Had the whole wall to ourselves, aside from a pair that free-solo'd up to the top of Copenhagen before us and another that went on to Dairy Queen for the afternoon. Photo by Ched. 17 Sep 2006

Climber going up the left veering crack, then continue past nice face plates to a short vertical thin crack that leads up to more nice plates or crack to the top. Topside belayer is anchored at a ledge about 100' high. Easy free-solo for another 25' to the very top. Photo by Ched. 17 Sep 2006
