This is a simple shot from the base of Double-Dog-Leg in Rock Garden Valley. I think it is a nice view although the approach was a little rough but worth the shade. Photo by: David Burlingame

Some would say, Dwain is in fact the slowest climber on the planet. To all ye blasphemers and soothsayers I submit to you this photo of a one who is slower than he, a tortoise. Photo by: David Burlingame

While Matt was starting his rappel after setting up a top rope, the clouds started to roll in. Lucky for us they didn't break but we will see how long the weather holds out. Photo by: David Burlingame

This is me being an idiot and free climbing the duchess route. After freeing a stuck rope it seemed much easier to top out the route rather than down climb. Photo by: Katie Burlingame

This is my neighbor, Matt, on his 3rd climb ever. He did very well for climbing in J-tree during mid July, while the temp was 106 F.

This is a decent shot of the route including Matt's tennis shoe while he contemplates how to remove a hex.

This is me, Dave, about 15' up a simple route when I decided to bang my skull off the rock a few times in hopes it would drown out my 2 year old's cheering... I mean screams-of-bloody-murder for daddy to hold her. 2 minutes earlier she only wanted mom but the second I get on the wall.... DADDY! What a cute kid. :)

This is a ground squirrel that looked as if he wanted to climb with us. After a long debate we decided he needs to buy a harness that fits first, until then he has to stick to highball bouldering. Photo by Katie Burlingame

A boulder from the first foot hill on the left as you begin up Mt. Woodson. There is a 5.5ish chimney and some other beginner climbs here. I think this problem is a V1. Lie dector looks down upon this rocky hill. Photo by Katie Hayashi.
