Ascending a large rock formation at city of rocks. Mainly just boning up on my rope ascending skills. Photo taken by my wife. This was a wonderful sunny day. Tepm was about 55 F, no wind, and all of this at the end of January.

This was my first climb via top rope through a 5.7 face on the west side of Ranger Station Rock. Only about a 45 foot climb, however, I climed it without falling or hang-dogging. I did not do so well on a 5.8 lieback next to this route.
